About the Facility

Charlie’s Place Recovery Center is an alcohol and drug treatment center located in Corpus Christi, Texas. They deliver comprehensive addiction treatment and case management services to chemically dependent individuals who are ready to recover and live an abstinent free life.

Charlie’s Place Recovery Center offers detox, inpatient, outpatient, and medication assisted treatment. They also provide basic mental health services.

Detoxification provides stabilization for adult men and women with substance use disorder. When detox is completed in an inpatient setting, there will be monitoring of vital signs and withdrawal symptoms to ensure the process is as comfortable as possible. When detox is completed on an outpatient basis, monitoring cannot be continuous. The length of detox and the method used varies depending on what is best for each person.

Inpatient treatment is for those who need a high level of care and structure to maintain mental and physical stability at the beginning phases of treatment. The daily schedule includes classes and groups on topics such as family relationships, financial health and security, and substance abuse disorder. Evidence based treatment approaches are offered in conjunction with learning how to build a new life based in recovery.

At Aspire Health Partners, the Medication Assisted Treatment Program provides medications along with comprehensive medical, psychiatric, and behavioral counseling. FDA approved medications are used to support withdrawal from opioid drugs and to help maintain long term abstinence. By combining medication with mental health treatment, a greater chance of success is achieved for long term abstinence.

Mental health treatment focuses on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and other challenging psychiatric conditions. Individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy all serve as ways to deliver mental health support. These services can be administered while in an inpatient setting, within an outpatient setting, or at a clinical office. Basic mental health services include common issues seen with addiction, such as a need for anger management support, confusion, grief, or depression.

clipboard-medical iconMedically Assisted Detox

Ridding the body of harmful, addictive substances, also known as detoxification, is usually the first phase of recovery. Those going through medically assisted detox can be administered medications by a team of medical professionals who are on-site 24/7 to provide different types of therapies that help mitigate withdrawal symptoms.

bed-front iconInpatient

Their Intensive Inpatient Treatment program is designed to teach patients about their addiction and provide the tools for recovery. Starting with a lifestyle change, patients learn how to build their support system to maintain a successful recovery from addiction. Patients follow a set daily schedule during which they are exposed to lessons that cover topics such as family relationships, financial health and security, substance abuse counseling, and beyond. Charlie’s Place utilizes a variety of evidence-based curriculums allowing us to provide individualized care and treatment. Patients learn how to face addiction on all fronts of life.

High-intensity outpatient programming, including partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) is widely available for clients in early recovery, those leaving detox, and those at an elevated relapse risk. Clients in outpatient care generally engage in robust addiction counseling and recovery education. Those in opioid and/or alcohol recovery may also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Couples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Family Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.
