About Clearbrook Treatment Center

Clear Brook Treatment Centers in Laurel Run, Pennsylvania, provides recovery services for individuals struggling with substance use disorder. They offer various levels of care, including medically monitored detox, residential addiction treatment and a partial hospitalization program. Located on East Northampton Street, the center offers views of the mountains that help clients relax enough to focus on recovery.

Unique and Specialized Program

I like that the residential treatment program offers a variety of features to help with treating your addiction. Clients receive chef prepared meals along with access to an onsite gym and a walking path.

The facility also features special programs that address the unique issues that military members and LGBTQ+ individuals deal with during addiction. Clear Brook incorporates traditional therapeutic methods such as dialectical behavior therapy and alternative methods such as art and music therapy.

Relaxing and Recovering in Nature

The facility is close to various forests, state parks and other areas where you’ll get to relax in nature. The Hickory Run State Park offers over 40 miles of hiking trails you can hike through for some good exercise and reflection time.

This facility specifically has meant so much to me, my family, and my sobriety thus far. There is so much power in a place where sobriety can be found not only amongst the clients, but also the staff. Whether it's your first, or your 21st rehab, this is a place where you can find the knowledge and support to succeed. Of course, having amazing meals, clinical support, and in-depth groups only makes the experience that much better. I felt safe to open up and know my struggles would be met with intentionality and care. If you are debating which rehab is for you, I highly recommend starting here. Even living 4.5hrs away didn't stop Clearbrook from driving to get me and sharing their expertise and care. Take the step and see how these amazing people can change your life. You won't regret it.

This place is just simply not a good place to send anyone to get help or treatment. The counselors could care less about you (except maybe one or two) and I promise you that all they want is your money. It's so obvious and plentiful to see it's almost embarrassing for them. Was and is possibly the worst and most cruel place to send your child. Like if you care about them, truly want them to be good, kind and succeed in life, don't mess them up by sending them here. What do you think they will gain. Truly. Please think twice. Look at literally any other place if you must use a rehab.

Accepted Insurance

Clearbrook Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

A medical detox is the safest way to wean your body off drugs and/or alcohol in an inpatient setting. When detoxing from addictive substances, the physical and psychological side effects of withdrawal can cause mood swings, anxiety, nausea, or flu-like symptoms. In medically assisted detox, a team of medical professionals are on hand 24/7 to help alleviate potential withdrawal symptoms, administer medications to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, and ultimately keep you safe and comfortable throughout this process.

inpatient iconInpatient

Inpatient rehab provides clients with an opportunity to focus solely on their sobriety away from the stressors of the home and workplace. Clients receive housing, food, and intensive clinical supervision. They also typically engage in multiple addiction counseling sessions each week, including daily individual, group, and/or family sessions. Most programs also prioritize recovery-focused life skills training, including courses in relapse prevention. Many facilities offer evidence-based holistic therapies, such as yoga and meditation.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

With a partial hospitalization program (PHP), you can participate in intensive rehabilitation treatment with the ability to return home at the end of the day. For a weekly minimum of 20 hours, a partial hospitalization program can take place up to 5 days a week for an average of 90 days. During PHP treatment, you can receive relapse prevention strategies, medication management, individual and group therapy, and other behavioral therapy interventions.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Clients engaged in intensive outpatient programs (IOP) live and work in their home community while receiving frequent, high-level care. These programs offer personalized care designed to evolve with the clients' changing needs. Many intensive outpatient rehabs require a minimum of nine hours of treatment per week, but high-risk clients and those in early recovery may receive up to 20 hours of care weekly. IOP services generally include addiction counseling, recovery education, and holistic therapies, such as massage.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehabs specialize in providing comprehensive care for clients who choose to remain in their homes and communities during treatment. Their services may include transitional support for clients stepping down from intensive inpatient programming. Ambulatory medical detox may be provided for clients at low risk for withdrawal complications. Many programs include evening, night, and weekend services to accommodate clients who are working professionals or caregivers. Addiction counseling and life skills training are common treatment modalities.

12-step icon12-Step

12 step programs prioritize the recovery journey as a life-long process based on personal spiritual growth and ongoing peer support. Regular attendance at 12 step meetings, which are held multiple times each day in most communities, is expected. Participants also receive one-on-one mentoring by a self-selected peer sponsor. The 12 steps are designed to encourage participants' self-compassion, awareness, acceptance, and accountability. Dedicated programs for specialized groups, including seniors, teens, and families, are common.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Clients receiving services from a rehab aftercare program are usually stable and in the maintenance phase of recovery, having completed detox and/or intensive inpatient treatment. Rehab aftercare services can vary widely based on clients' individual and evolving needs, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, 12 step program induction, and medical, mental health, and social service referrals. Individual care plans are typically developed by the client in partnership with their case manager and care team.

telehealth iconTelehealth

Telehealth increases care access to underserved communities and at-risk populations. Because it allows patients to receive care without visiting a provider in person, many barriers are removed. Telehealth eliminates transportation issues, increases convenience, and opens up options to providers who are located far away.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

In Pennsylvania, substance abuse treatment programs can help address addiction and any co-occurring mental health problems. These programs incorporate evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and psychoeducation to help you uncover the underlying causes for your substance use and develop new skills to help you manage stress and overcome future triggers which may challenge your sobriety.

Pennsylvania's specialized dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs prioritize comprehensive care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. Providing various levels of care, including outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization, dual-diagnosis experts use evidence-based therapies, recovery support groups, and education to treat both disorders, promote mental health, and improve your quality of life.

If you have a mental health condition and an addiction, it is critical to address both conditions simultaneously. If you only address the mental health disorder, you'll likely continue to use drugs or alcohol, which can make your mental health issues even worse. On the other hand, if you only address the addiction, you won't have the tools to cope with your mental health disorder in a healthy way.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men

Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Program For Women

Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Pennsylvania can be helpful to individuals who are experiencing substance use disorder and various mental health conditions. It helps you identify damaging thought and behavior patterns and replace them with healthy ones.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Pennsylvania is an evidence based technique that involves group therapy, individual therapy, and phone coaching. Group sessions focus on learning behavioral skills. Individual therapy gives you the opportunity to apply what you're learning to your personal situations. Phone coaching allows you to call your therapist during the week for help with challenging situations.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Motivational interviewing in Pennsylvania gives you the opportunity to share your perspective and explore your ideas and motivation for change. Your therapist will walk you through the four steps of engaging, focusing, evoking, and planning to empower you to make any desired changes in your life.

Family therapy teaches individual family members in Pennsylvania the benefits of collectively combating addiction. Therapists help individual members establish healthy boundaries between themselves and their loved one who is struggling with addiction. This helps improve emotional support systems and creates a bond so families work together to sustain long term recovery.

Group therapy sessions in Pennsylvania offer you a safe space when you're struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. You can openly discuss your challenges and the progress you're making in rehabilitation. Sharing this responsibility with others in your group fosters a commitment to sobriety and helps create strong bonds with your peers.

Life skills are the mental and social skills that are necessary to navigate day to day life. Addiction diminishes or eliminates these skills, so they must be relearned and practiced during drug rehab treatment in Pennsylvania.

Artistic talent is not required to participate in creative arts therapy. This form of rehab treatment in Pennsylvania simply allows you to try different art media and use the one that works best for you to express yourself. The goal is not to produce quality art but to use the creative process as an outlet for recovery.

Emotions that surface during experiential therapy can reveal how you've coped with situations in the past. A trained therapist will guide you through conversations about your emotions and reactions either during therapy or in a follow up session. Therapy may include activities such as equine therapy, wilderness therapy, martial arts, drama, music, or art.

Clearbrook is a wonderful facility! Unbelievably clean, the housekeeping staff is amazing, the food is better than some NYC restaurants I've eaten in and the nursing staff is professional, always attentive and fun! Relaxing atmosphere. Excellent facility but not as AA based as I would have preferred.

Response from the owner

Thank you to all of the staff, from the nursing team to the therapists to the kitchen team, the housekeepers, the hair stylist, nutritionist, the outside speakers who volunteered their time and experience to share their stories of inspiration with us… It can be really hard to come to a rehabilitation place and set aside time for recovery, whether we choose to or not. The staff put all of our safety first so that our recovery could be our number one focus during our treatment. Grounds were kept beautiful, and there’s a gorgeous overlook with a gazebo where we did Tai Chi and Zen Walks, and we even got to watch one of the most amazing sunsets I’ve ever seen. Groups and one-on-one sessions were intense at times but got to the root of things I haven’t tapped into anywhere else before regarding behavioral patterns. Once I reached Phase 3 of the “Phase Up” program I was able to go on a hike to Rickett’s Glen and it was just amazing. Shout outs to Steve, Sarah, Kevin, Ryan, Deb, Kaitlyn, Jason, Uncle Ron, Donnie, Jess, Boyer, Elizabeth, Courtney (Grief Therapist), Charlie, Vanessa, Kelly, Judd, Anthony, Katrina, Adam, Morgan (BHT), Girard, Kim, Courtney (Nurse), Charles, Dave, Mikey, Kat, Arianna, Gabby, Bryan (Kitchen)… and so many others. I appreciate the transportation to and from my home about an hour away. Pickup time was so fast when I called. I originally went in for seven days of detox but decided I was not ready to return home. Nobody made me feel pressured to stay, but they were very encouraging and supportive of my personal decision to stay longer for treatment. I plan to return in the future as an alumni to share my story and hope with others as they have done for me. Thank you to all at Clearbrook and Banyan!

Response from the owner
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful and detailed reflection on your time with us. Your words truly capture the heart of what we strive to create—a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where recovery can be the top priority.

We’re so glad you connected with so many members of our team, from nursing and clinical staff to kitchen, housekeeping, and volunteers. It’s wonderful to hear how the grounds, activities, and Phase Up program experiences—like Tai Chi, Zen Walks, and the Rickett’s Glen hike—helped make your journey both meaningful and memorable.

Your decision to extend your stay shows incredible self-awareness and commitment to your healing, and we’re honored to have supported you in that choice. We can’t wait to welcome you back as an alum to inspire others just as you’ve been inspired.

Thank you for trusting Clearbrook and Banyan with your care. You’ll always have a family here. 💚

Didn't trust this place. I drove 2 hours with someone I love to bring them here. They were not welcoming in the slightest. It had a weird out of place vibe about them all. I noticed mostly men staff and even a transgender upon arrival. They tried telling me I couldn't even come in the building with her. I said I want to go over paper work etc. it felt like they were trying to take her from me and kicking me out. i didn't trust them and we left drove 2 hours home.
