The other workers just stare in the office like they never seen anyone with Anxiety before! Coming from a time where self loathing and disappointment ruled most of an alcoholics mind, the staff has personal experience and schooling that gives you the kick in the ass that you need to open up your eyes to the present your living in. I was at a very low point in my life, not wanting to be alive anymore. Embark was a very nice place. 99% of the staff were very kind and caring. The facility was very nice, and the food was pretty good. I didn't like being there, but looking back it wasn't too bad. I was transferred to a long term facility after 2 months at Embark. That is where I entered the world of The Troubled Teen Industry in Utah. I was not placed at one of the embark facilities there, rather an ROP program. But, it's important to know every single facility in Utah is BAD. Embark at the Poconos or one of their other locations far away from Utah is the exception. Embark at the Poconos was like a vacation compared to the other places I was sent. While I don't think you should send your child ANYWHERE unless absolutely necessary, it should be here if needed. I have heard bad things from friends who went to the embark locations in Utah. But, this one was pretty good. That being said, I thank embark at the Poconos for always treating me with compassion. Almost 3 years later, I am accepted to college for nursing and on track to graduate. This place truly was a life-changing experience. The house is run like a community of moms and children living together, and the staff treats you like family rather than just a patient. They are also incredibly helpful if you are working to regain custody of children in foster care. However, you should go in with a realistic mindset. You are living with a group of women from all different areas of the state, so there will be drama occasionally. My advice: stay focused on yourself and what you are there for, and you will be fine. I also feel it’s important to mention that while the program is amazing, there are some areas for improvement. I felt like some of the counselors and RSPs (Resident Support Professionals) could be better focused on their individual clients. Additionally, it can sometimes feel like you can’t voice an opinion or a concern about the staff without being lectured about it later in a group setting. Despite those frustrations, the core of this program is life-saving. If you stay focused on your recovery and your child, this place can give you a second chance at life. I'm 7yrs clean today and I still feel like fountain springs saved us. while we lived there my daughter had surgery to remove her tonsils and adnoids at potsville hospital and I was allowed to stay there with her and had special accommodations for a few days after. Alea Rudy 9 months ago My overall experience with Gaundenzia Fountian Springs was good, the Program help me obtain and maintain sobriety while learning about addiction and taking parenting workshops. This women's or Mommy&me program also helped me regain full custody of my 2 children because I worked the Program by putting my all into it, they put their all into helping me fight for my children back. I loved most of the counselors most of the time LOL. But it was a life changing experience that help me take control back of my life to create a better future for myself and my kids. There is also a women's and mommy&me soberliving housing program connected in the back called Gaundenzia New Destiny which bridges the gap after one completes the rehab. The old NP, Barb, was also GREAT with my daughter and was in the process of finding her the correct medicine that will work for her before we, without notice, were pulled from her schedule and put with someone else that goes by the name of Dr. Beth, or Elizabeth Finley. She was outrageously rude to my 13 year old, who has been suffering with mental health issues, and the last thing she needed was the advice of this 'dr', or lack thereof. I am 50 and have lived around the country and never ever received 5 star care from therapy to the case management to the out patient psych clinic. I can tell u first hand from the fiscal department all the way to the top director this place cares about one thing it's clients they do not put money or time over people. This is the only place I've gotten any results since I was 5. If your having a bad comment then u just don't know this place or didn't do your part. It's a two way street they can only offer and give u suggestions and support and stand with u through rough times and I'm alive today because childrens service center didn't give up in me. I am building healthy relationships with my children, my self esteem went from lower then dirt in the carpet to sky high. My drug dependency is at a zero I am sober . My health is at all all time high. I have never had so many people working for myself and at least o0 others I know the way this place does. But they were great help in applying for Medicaid and counseling services. Getting appointment is difficult due to the demand for the current counselors , which is very unfortunate but understandable. Feels like a safe place to be in. Brian O'Connor 3 years ago i thought this place was excellent. i loved the groups and my counselor. it seemed like they really cared. i had shown up 25 minutes late for the 3 hour group and they wouldn’t let me in. i live 45 minutes away and had counseling 2.5 hours later. woman at the desk said it wasn’t her problem. i was having a really rough day and needed to be there. mind you, i chose to go there. i wasn’t mandated or anything. they do an outstanding job pushing people away on their lowest days. I specifically want to mention Kathy, who I worked with throughout the program. She is such an incredible person who truly goes above and beyond for the people on her caseload. She doesn’t just help with parenting; she helps with life. When I lost my ID, she actually helped me get it replaced and the program even paid for it. She made such a positive impact on my journey that I actually miss seeing her for our monthly visits! The facility itself is a secured location, which provided a lot of peace of mind. No one is able to enter the building without ringing the bell to be let in by staff, making it feel very safe and private.
