I am the wife of a patient that went into detox for RX drug and alcohol abuse. He went in on a Saturday afternoon of which I had to make several phone calls to get him in. They would not allow me in for his evaluation. Tuesday afternoon I get a call from Charlie’s saying I need to pick up my husband and take him to a hospital as he was “refusing to go by ambulance “ I live 3 hours away and cannot drive at night. A friend of mine was in Corpus and went over and told them to call an ambulance never seeing my husband and they did. Later that night the hospital called me to pick him up and I told them to call Charlie’s. The nurse at the hospital called me back and said he had been discharged from Charlie’s. News to me. I would not suggest this place to my worse enemy
Not at all the ideal place for someone seeking serious help. Most people who go here either quit early and/or relapse. Their operators are very lazy and will not waste their precious time answering a simple phone call, regardless if it's a family emergency or not. If you care about getting your loved one help DO NOT GO HERE!
