I am deeply grateful to Chelsea Bricker and the team at Daybreak for everything they did for my family. Chelsea is a genuine and skilled therapist who shows how much she really cares about her clients. DBT is most effective with the kind of structure that Daybreak provides and the results we experienced reflect such. It is VERY hard to find good intensive mental health treatment in the area and we were not left wanting. I strongly recommend the center to anyone looking for these kinds of services for their kid.

Went here as a kid. I was dismissed and treated with contempt. Staff was rude, controlling and the whole thing felt disingenuous. They later went on to sue my financially struggling family at the time. What a grift.

I went to daybreak 2 years ago. I had a horrible experience and they were extremely mean to me. We couldn’t have our phones the whole day, when we made friends we couldn’t get there numbers just because we weren’t aloud, i got dress-coded because i was wearing leggings and got sent to a chair in the corner for 30 mins because of that. The people there were honestly really rude except for like 2 workers. Also, when i was there a new kid came along and he threatened to shoot up the place and they still let him stay (i was extremely scared and they did not care) you can’t chose where you can sit at lunch either. I did not get a lot out of this camp and it just didn’t help. If you’re thinking of sending your kid to daybreak i would rethink that because it’s just overall not a good place. ( update: im just now remembering that i forgot to mention a very important detail. while i was in treatment here, they had a psychiatrist, I don’t remember his name, but I know that he was a middle aged gentlemen and he prescribed me Lamictal. While being prescribed the Lamictal, he told me that this Specific medicine can cause a rash And if I get this rash that I need to tell him immediately because it’s a deadly rash. I listened and I started taking the medicine. A week or two later I noticed a rash on my arms and the inside of my thighs so at my next appointment I told him. After I told him he laughed at me jokingly and said I was fine. I had the rash and I was not fine. I showed my mom after and she made me stop taking it because it was the deadly rash. This could have gone so wrong and I’m glad it didn’t but you guys really need to do better on who you’re hiring and having work with young children, and just people in general. We deserve better. Have a nice day)

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is an intensive outpatient option for those with moderate to severe addictions, allowing you to return home at the end of the day. It can be an alternative to hospitalization or used as a step-down option. PHP treatment requires a minimum of 20 hours of treatment per week for an average of 90 days. Depending on your needs, PHP treatment includes relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services. PHP treatment is often covered by providers.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

This place may be good for some treatments but I have a TOC and I don't recommend group therapies, these meetings only made me create destructive thoughts that I had never felt, they didn't offer me an efficient treatment to treat my condition.

I went here in 2012 as a 12 year old child. I am now a mental health professional and I work in advocacy for abused children. At the time of being at Daybreak, I was being physically abused by my parents. I disclosed this to the staff at this center and all of them failed to uphold Tennessee's Mandatory Reporting Laws. Please train your staff on how to recognize child abuse and the importance of mandatory reporting.
