Had an appointment with Dr Vigil Sr. Waited for over an hour, then he comes into the exam room and tells me is not able to see me because he has a Zoom appointment and bills me for the appointment. I have emailed the billing company they use and tried to contact them about this issue only to be ignored. Since his son Dr Vigil Jr left to practice in CO this practice has continued to go downhill. Thank you for your feedback. Review of your records show that your last visit was in March and labs were ordered and you were seen. If this is not the case, please call the office and discuss with our office manager.

I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment with the ongoing issues I have encountered regarding the receptionist, who I believe is named Veronica (red hair receptionist). While I have always received exceptional care from the doctors and nurses (10/10), the repeated unprofessionalism and lack of attention from the receptionist have left me with no choice but to seek care elsewhere. Over the past six months, I have encountered multiple instances where Veronica assured me she would handle my prescription refills and coordinate with the doctors. However, three months ago I had to call her every single day for two weeks just to receive my critical asthma medications (she told me every day she was “going to talk to the doctor and get this fixed right away”. It took WEEKS! Today, after my check-up, I specifically called her to confirm that she had not made another mistake, only to find that she not only failed to send my prescriptions to the correct pharmacy (despite confirming with her twice), but she didn’t send them out at all. This repeated negligence and lack of accountability are unacceptable. Due to Veronica's continued incompetence, I will not be returning to this practice. I hope this issue is addressed immediately to prevent future patients from experiencing the same frustration.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

I like that after you become an established patient, you don’t have to wait forever to get an appointment. I get in pretty quickly when I call for an appointment. I really like the nurse there; she was very sweet and made me feel comfortable dealing with a very sensitive, painful issue for which I’ve been treated very poorly in the past. I think Dr. Vigil is a provider who is going to consider all factors and always come to a plan that is ultimately best for his patients' health. I feel he does his best to work within the annoying hurtles n obstacles insurance companies create for most providers these days. I have changed doctors several times in the last two years, trying to find a doctor's office that I feel comfortable n my medical concerns are listened to and addressed in a way that I felt heard and understood. While I have found it so hard to find a doctor who listens n that take care of my health concerns without a several-month wait for an appt or without scheduling as many appointments as possible to bill my insurance for simple over-the-phone matters. I have found this office to be a perfect fit for me. So I would say if you want a PCP (primary care doctor) that puts his patients' health n time first, I think Dr. Vigil is a perfect fit. I’m not someone who needs to see the physician often. I may need an occasional allergy medicine or need to be seen for the common chest cold, or a monthly script n this office makes things easy n straight forward. Plus, it’s a pretty short wait time for appts once you're established. I very much like Dr. Vigil. I’ve had very positive experiences so far and would recommend Dr. Vigil. One quick note, the receptionist, however, has to be asked repeatedly to do something, whether it be a prescription or referral, which is a little frustrating. I've been waiting over three weeks for the medical records I've requested, so this being said, I would have given 5 stars had he had better office staff.

Kinda worthless. When I left my first appointment, I asked if I owed anything and they said the first appointment was free. The dr setup a second appointment as I requested to get a health evaluation or check up etc... I haven't seen a doctor in almost 20 years. So the dr schedules an online / FaceTime type appointment. I thought that was weird, but he's the dr. So that appointment comes up, and he asks why this appointment is a FaceTime consultation etc... And I told him that he set it up. He disagrees with me about that, and says he needs to check his notes (he used an ai note keeper during the first visit), and obviously finds where he scheduled the FaceTime visit. So that FaceTime visit was pointless. He said I had to go get some blood samples and then he can go over them. I asked how do I get blood samples? He said anywhere. So blah blah blah, he said this was a waste of his time and I was like, ya, you were the one that scheduled this FaceTime visit. So 2 months later I get surprise bill from him. I call and leave a message about it, no reply. I respond to the email sent about the bill, no response. I respond via their online portal, no response. But he sure did send me this random bill 2 months after via text, email, and regular mail to my house. I left messages a few other times when I was first scheduling a meeting him, never got a callback

I found Dr. Vigil when my current doctor had something happen and had to leave unexpectedly with possibly no return and no refill for my meds, I was shoved on to a doctor who didn't understand the medication I was prescribed, or the reason I was on them and didn't want to prescribe it (I've been on it for 39 years), causing immense distress. As somebody who suffers from severe PTSD, you can imagine the terror when I was told by another doctor to go to the ER to control the grand mal seizures. I was going to be out of meds in 3 days, meds that are life and possibly death for me. I emailed Dr. Vigil on a Friday night and he emailed me back Saturday morning! I called the office Monday morning and he scheduled an appointment for me via telehealth at 5:00 that evening! Dr. Vigil was so very kind. I was a tearful, terrified mess and he was so patient with me, as well as empathetic. Dr. Vigil checked on me at 9:30 on a Friday night just to make sure I was okay after the trama of what I had gone through. When I got a sinus infection, he called a couple days later to see if the antibiotics were helping. I live 2 and 1/2 hours away, he did telehealth for me. You may find this a long review, I feel the information is pertinent. If Dr. Vigil hadn't made time for me on that Monday morning, I would have been in the ER, and NOT in good shape. It is very hard to find a doctor that has any compassion these days, let alone one that's going to make sure you're okay. He's the kind of doctor that fights for his patience as well. He has done that for me. No doctor is perfect, they're human, and people have to stop expecting that. And sometimes they run late, or have emergencies that need tending to. In the state of New Mexico where we have a ridiculous shortage of doctors, I say he's worth waiting for if your appointment is running late. I'd rather wait for Dr. Vigil who I know cares about my health and well-being. A shout out to Veronica, she has always been very kind to me. Remember, everybody can have a bad day. So there it is, I highly recommend Dr. Vigil...and his dog. I know somebody mentioned it in their review, again, excellent doctor versus a dog in the office. Dog's make everything better. :)
