Was transported to VA Emergency Department early this morning (31 May/around 0200) for chest pains and fear of heart attack. The team took such amazing care of me; listened to my concerns and didn’t dismiss, demean or degrade me. It was very nice. All the staff was amazing. They ran all the right tests and were able to determine the issue (not my heart) but another serious issue regardless. The Dr gave me a thorough explanation of what the issue was and released quickly.

The space is like a protective compound of renovated homes with a central peaceful garden and multiple therapy spaces. It feels safe, comfortable, and thoughtful. I’ve only had 2 sessions, but all of the worry and anxiety of being in a new environment and situation melted away during the first session. We haven’t started the work of therapy just yet, but I’m optimistic about the journey given the amazing start.
Update: Seven months later and I'm still very much impressed. Crystal is a wonderful therapist and a beautiful soul. I'll be honest, the first 4 months felt like a rinse and spin cycle. Additional services at this facility include the tr | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I began much-needed individual therapy this month at New Mexico Solutions. It has helped my interior life substantially already. I want to mention two qualities that stand out.
The first was what has helped me the most. I have worked thus far with Alexa Brown who is doing a phenomenal job taking me seriously. I struggle with the impression that the people around me do not, on even the most fundamental level, have any respect for me, and, as I unravel myself in order to heal the parts of myself about which I'm most ashamed, Alexa's unwavering validation has been invaluable. I could not have asked for a person with whom it is easier to speak.
The second was the ease by which I have been able to access therapy. I found it surprising that I could manage to fit anything at all into my schedule, given how much I've struggled to access other forms of healthcare since moving to New Mexico. Many thanks to the staff at New Mexico Solutions for making the process easy.

I left a pretty bad review about 5 years ago. I decided to stay at Duke City and have had a few bad problems since. Really bad staff like them messing up my insurance payments and trying to blame me.
But......
This place is a big part of the reason I'm going to be sober for 10 years in August. It's the reason I have take homes and live a normally relative life. The reason I can hold good jobs. The reason I'm not dead in a gutter. So with that being said, things change. I've seen a LOT of change over the years. About 5 years ago a very overzealous counselor finally left, she was a good counselor but far too influential with management and defensive of really stupid policies like the early open access. Like I said things have changed a lot. Groups are optional now. You can do counseling over the phone. Good stuff. Just.. stay on top of any payment plan you have. And I strongly recommend not using private insurance because billing seems to work with medicaid 99% of the time and any time I've tried to use Cobra insurance or private insurance they have screwed it up and I end up on a payment plan. I still never got reimbursed by the way. They must owe me two or three checks over the years but what ever.
My top concern is that I get my treatment. And I do. My counselor calls me. I get my medicine. Things are okay. So i changed my review from a one to a four after 5 years. I think that is fair.
I do wish however that they use a nurse to do the observed UAs. Nothing against the security guards but it feels like I'm in a parole office rather than a treatment center. I'm here voluntarily. I also don't appreciate it when I have legitimate trouble peeing and the workers immidiately go straight for the stick and say "oh well we can just mark you as a dirty"
If you actually look at my record I haven't had a dirty since I started treatment nearly a decade ago. Why would I want a dirty now? I just need to drink some water you fool...
Other than that, things are good. The clinic is in a good space. Best in years. I strongly recommend management take the win and try not to dramatically change things because this is their peak. Best they have been in years. Keep it up. Please. I can't go back go pre pandemic Duke city. I just cant. That was brutal.

Albuquerque is the 60th most expensive city nationwide for addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $60678. This is comparable to the average cost of $57989 for addiction treatment in New Mexico and higher than the national average cost for drug rehab of $57,193.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Albuquerque vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of medical detox, inpatient rehab, outpatient rehab, and medication assisted treatment. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below. There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Albuquerque. Most rehab treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Albuquerque that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here's the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment near Albuquerque.
Blue Cross Blue Shield is the most widely-accepted insurance for drug rehabs in Albuquerque, with 8 treatment centers in the city accepting their insurance. Molina Healthcare is the 2nd most popular with 6 treatment centers accepting it followed by Aetna in 3rd accepted by 5 drug rehabs.
Albuquerque has the 269th highest rate of drug use nationwide among nearly 400 cities surveyed. This number reflects the combined use of cocaine, heroin, meth, and marijuana, displayed individually below. The percent shown for each drug represents the number of residents in Bernalillo county that have reported ever using the following drugs, so these numbers should not be interpreted as direct evidence of current drug use in Albuquerque or Bernalillo county as a whole.
In 2023, Albuquerque had the 42nd highest number narcotics violations out of 330 cities nationwide, with a total of 1437 reported drug-related incidents that year. This includes cases of public intoxication, drug arrests, narcotics found during house calls and traffic stops, and any other drug-related crime.
Keep in mind these numbers are dependent on accurate record keeping and reporting laws by local police and sheriffs, and may not fully reflect all drug related crime in Albuquerque. All values are per 100,000 population.
