I've had good and bad days since I've been going here the part I hate the most are how many counselors I've been through. Only one in the 12 yrs I've been here has actually changed my life she left and I relapsed but I'm on track again since thanks to myself because I won't let another counselor in because I know for a fact they will leave also, other then that I love the nurses and,, I like them all it's a nice place for help if your ready for it

It's a great place everyone there they are the best ever and they really care plus if you need any help with anything just ask they will or make sure you get what you need. So if you need help this is the place to go. Only one thing wish they stayed open until 1pm

Staff is outstanding, I can tell my councilor Mike cares about his clients succeeding the program and will do whatever he can to make you feel heard,, and the other councilors seem to as well.. The staff was changing quite a bit for a yr or two ago but, the new ones coming in are always kind and apathetic. I Miss the old Director Max but other than wishing he still was there, I have no complains

I checked myself into the crisis center ATU because I knew I needed some help. Somehow I only got worse during my three days. Over my three days, I saw three different psychiatrists, took part in the only two “skills” groups offered (and those both felt like they were slapped together at the last second), and met with a therapist exactly one time. The person staying in the room next to me played the same 30 second loop of ambient music the entire time I was there and at such a level that I could hear it in my room with the door closed. When I mentioned this was causing me to be overstimulated and harming my mental health I was basically met with a shrug. If you aren’t feeling suicidal when you check in, you almost certainly will be when you check out.
The food is pretty shitty too, but honestly, that I could’ve dealt with.

I’ve been coming to New Mexico Treatment Center for some time now there’s been a lot of staff that have came an gone it’s sad just when we start to open up to these counselors the next week they’re gone .Theres a few really good counselors up stairs .Theres 1 Dedicated to Her patience the most is Darlene, any time anyone has questions or concerns she’s on it. She goes above & beyond for her patience helps get dog food donated for those who are homeless with animals. They didn’t have security when I first started coming now they do it’s helped, u just have those without any where to go so yes they do hang around . I think they’re should be more programs that are hands on because Being an addict is one thing and for some it’s even harder for some to sit in a room full active users it makes it hard for those who are taking their sobriety serious. Keep up the fight to end addiction.

It's a state run facility so you will encounter; individuals court ordered to treatment who don't really care, homeless who just want a place to stay and temporarily detox, staff members on a power trip that will take every opportunity to put you down and threaten you. But if you are serious about your recovery, there are a dozen staff members In recovery who will move heaven and earth to support you, Find them utilize them take in their wisdom. I’m new to both The Evolution Group and in-person therapy in general, but so far the experience has been… lovely. The space is like a protective compound of renovated homes with a central peaceful garden and multiple therapy spaces. It feels safe, comfortable, and thoughtful. The staff have made the process simple… like checking into a spa. My therapist, Crystal, is patient, warm, personable, and genuinely listens. I’ve only had 2 sessions, but all of the worry and anxiety of being in a new environment and situation melted away during the first session. We haven’t started the work of therapy just yet, but I’m optimistic about the journey given the amazing start.
Update: Seven months later and I'm still very much impressed. Crystal is a wonderful therapist and a beautiful soul. I'll be honest, the first 4 months felt like a rinse and spin cycle. That's just my experience of the process, but the team there made it easy to be a patient. Something strange... that place feels familiar and safe, like going home (in a good way). I continue to refer coworkers here.

This place was responsible for my sons suicide. I don't know how else to say it, the way they treated him, drugged him and transported him away from his home and community is appalling. He was medically disabled due to a surgery that the axis system made a referral for and had been harassing him for weeks prior. He was ADHD and was medicated for it by axis as well but was labeled a meth head when he was having a hard time.
My son never recovered from the consequences of their action. He was struggling for sure but instead of being met with compassion he was brutalized. his home was robbed and his life's work in the arts where thrown in the garbage after they transported him out of town with no way home.
He was such a beautiful young man and he tried so hard. SHAME ON YOU FOR WHAT YOU DID!!!!!

Thank you New Mexico wellness! New Mexico wellness is a great place to get treatment. You are able to discuss the issues that cause you to drink. You get more than lessons on breathing, mindfulness and emotional regulation. You get true care and support. I was discharged early due to my dishonest behavior. However I have been out for 5 days now and have not had a drink. Every other rehab I've been to I either had a drink the same day or the day after I left. I have true hope for my future. They have medically assisted treatment for both alcohol and narcotics. I highly recommend New Mexico wellness. They're not perfect but neither is anybody or any place. I got what I needed to stay sober for the rest of my life I truly do thank New Mexico wellness and all the staff.

This is from my experience back in 2021ish. I was 15, in the youth ward admitted for being suchidal. When I was there, it was like a big daycare. I liked the nurses a lot, honestly, they were caring and fun. Place was clean and there was a big tv/play structure outside.

Honestly? I didn't have a horrible experience here. Unlike Central Desert, they were actually able to wash your clothes and give them back within a day, and gave you the correct clothes. I hate Central Desert. It was a pretty calm environment, safe, relatively clean, the patients seemed chill enough. Bed wasn't uncomfortable. The staff was nice, some nicer than others, it sort of felt like they were overworked. I have epilepsy and some nurses took their sweet time giving me their meds, which irked me. Again unlike Central, they had about 3 cell phones on which you could call anyone you liked, and there wasn't a strict time limit as long as there wasn't someone waiting to use the phone. The meals were like hospital food. Visitation was every day for one hour which was great!! (Again, unlike Central Desert, where visitation was one day a week for 15 minutes, what a joke.) So, if you're going through a crisis and need to be stabilized like I was, Haven is probably your best bet in ABQ. They unfortunately didn't have an outdoor area and it was a lil smaller than Central.

They have helped me in ways I thought could never happen and I'm not even hyping them right now .
