About U Turn For Christ New Mexico

U Turn For Christ New Mexico is a faith-based residential Christian discipleship ministry in Albuquerque serving men and women seeking freedom from drug and alcohol addiction.

The program centers on Bible study, prayer, church attendance, accountability, life skills training and community service rather than a conventional clinical rehab model.

Their mission is to guide individuals out of dominating addictions through a Christ-centered ranch environment that supports lasting transformation.

Faith-Based Residential Discipleship

The core of U Turn For Christ is its phased residential discipleship program with separate men’s and women’s ranches.

Phase 1 is a foundational period followed by Phase 2 that may include a sober living discipleship track or a servant leadership track.

Daily life blends Bible study, addiction meetings, individual biblical guidance and structured ranch work.

Participants engage in studies such as Heart of Addiction, Healed and Set Free and Biblical Work Ethics alongside life skills like money management, communication and teamwork.

Many alumni and families may appreciate the program for its faith-rooted structure for long-term recovery.

Gender-Specific Ranch Programs

Men of all ages and women 18 and older are served in dedicated, gender-specific ranch settings and the women’s program may accept candidates on probation or parole.

The women’s track emphasizes biblical guidance, life skills and healing from past hurts, while the men’s track integrates job training, ranch work and servant leadership development.

The program operates as a low-cost ministry with a mandatory admission donation covering the initial two months.

I had the privilege of spending over 10 months in this program. It’s truly a blessing, God totally has His hand over this ministry. I was addicted to drugs and alcohol for many years. Through the power of Jesus Christ and the guidance of U-Turn for Christ I have been free from that bondage for over 5 years. The Pastors and the over seeing staff are awesome Godly men. I’m not gonna act like it was easy because it was not. There are rules to be followed. Obedience is the key. Thank you Pastor Mike and Pastor Jesus for commitment and all your hard work. Thank you Jesus for this program!!!!

Ive been living in my car desperate to come back to the Lord and find a safe place to do it. The guy I talked to over the phone was very kind and compassionate, everything seemed awesome but when I arrived I was met with a guy who was completely rude, judgemental, and immature. Treating me like I was an enemy and made me feel like I wasn't wanted. I needed compassion not that especially in this season I'm going through i tried to ignore his horrible attitude but he kept on I couldn't handle it and out of anger and not feeling wanted i didn't even go. So I'm still living in my truck pray for me I can find somewhere safe please it's cold 🥶 God bless but as for the program I do not know it may be wonderful I never made it past the first challenge lol I was havjng a bad day. But it seems military from the way he was talking more focused on punishment than loving the Lord all that's good but it seemed oppressive thats all

Dear sir we are sorry you chose to leave, you we're not kicked out or told to leave. We simply have to ask questions as to who we are bringing in the program and if you have any drugs or paraphernalia and the search is mandatory. You're more than welcome to come back and start the process again whenever you choose to.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Consulting intervention services can help you plan an effective drug intervention in New Mexico. An intervention specialist will assess your loved one's circumstances and suggest the best approach to take for the intervention itself and for follow-up treatment. Intervention services can also provide follow-up care for family members, regardless of whether the individual chooses to enter treatment.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Each drug rehab in New Mexico offers unique amenities and treatment methods. Common aspects of treatment include group and individual counseling, recreational therapy, medication management, and healthy living. Aftercare is often provided to prevent relapse.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

The beginning of the program was great and I really thought I would find the answers I was looking for, but the staff is not at all flexible, they are the least understandable people I have ever met, they should be a refuge for people instead of a place where the problems ar ... Read More

I want to assure anyone who reads this review, this is not out of retaliation, this is an honest review. I will have some positive feedback but most of it is negative and completely disappointing. This program is faith-based , which is great. The guys are in the word of God daily. The rules of the program are: No talking to family members that are not blood related, no talking to partners/fiancee unless married, no talking to the opposite sex nor look at them. The guys will have to dig holes from 9-11 pm if they break rules, the holes are 5x5x5 and once the hole is empty, the guys throw in a bunch of stuff and have to dig it back out. The guys who are newer have to wash their clothes by hand including their bath towel( like jail) but the guys who have been there 60 days get to use the washer/dryer , guys who are there over 60 days get better food and there are times they will eat the same meal multiple days in a row, they eat the same breakfast every morning but the guys who have been there longer are allowed in the kitchen to cook their own eggs etc. During the application process, the program does warn about them being a work based program, which is fine. But they fail to mention the guys are expected to perform hard labor Monday - Saturday. The bathroom has a mold problem, this is dangerous. There is no therapy for addiction and recovery, my partner was there 30 days and didn't learn anything about recovery. He struggles with past trauma, addiction and anxiety. His birth mother is out of state , after she missed his calls she tried to call and text the pastors there to have her son call and they never told my partner his mom was reaching out. The rules were " only blood related family" but pastor Jesus told my partner he's lucky to let him talk to his mom and they are not supposed to talk to anyone, my partner never got the chance. Guys that have kids and a significant other are not allowed to talk to their partner so that makes it difficult to talk to their kids? Pastor Jesus told us we were not allowed to say hello to my partner at church or even look his way, he told us where we should sit which I refuse to listen to that because we are in church to worship with one another and I can sit where I want. My mom expressed her feelings towards Jesus about the program and the bad vibes she was getting, this seemed to upset pastor Jesus because the same day my partner was caught looking at me and did try to talk to me in the parking lot, pastor Jesus witnessed this and pointed his finger in my partners face and threatened him with digging holes.. every Sunday at church if my partner even looked my way or smiled , pastor Jesus would give him a hard time. The men that enter a recovery program for addiction are hurting, they are looking for help to navigate their trauma and addiction and although Jesus is our Lord and Savior, Jesus also placed resources here on earth to teach the lost and addicted to stay sober. Jesus is our foundation but I don't understand how telling the guys what to do, when to do it , making them do hard labor , digging holes, keeping them from their loved ones is Christ like ? And how does this help them recover?? It seems like pastor Jesus still has personal issues or struggles to work through. He is always bringing up his past , the money , the women.... Bragging about our past shows we miss it. Pastor Nate at Calvary taught that the other day, Jesus is also rude to the families sometimes. The guys sitting at church are all staring forward, they look like programmed robots , no facial expressions, they all look miserable. My partner got off the top bunk and landed on his foot wrong , he could barely walk and they gave him 1 day off and they basically told him it'd not that bad..another guy burnt his face from throwing a match into a fire pit, and he wasn't taken for medical care? There is a sign when walking into the house that represents addiction recovery, this place is far from that. I hope the director takes a good look into this place...it needs to be evaluated and worked on.
