Was transported to VA Emergency Department early this morning (31 May/around 0200) for chest pains and fear of heart attack. The team took such amazing care of me; listened to my concerns and didn’t dismiss, demean or degrade me. It was very nice. All the staff was amazing. They ran all the right tests and were able to determine the issue (not my heart) but another serious issue regardless. The Dr gave me a thorough explanation of what the issue was and released quickly.

Additional services at this facility include the tr | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I began much-needed individual therapy this month at New Mexico Solutions. It has helped my interior life substantially already. I want to mention two qualities that stand out.
The first was what has helped me the most. I have worked thus far with Alexa Brown who is doing a phenomenal job taking me seriously. I struggle with the impression that the people around me do not, on even the most fundamental level, have any respect for me, and, as I unravel myself in order to heal the parts of myself about which I'm most ashamed, Alexa's unwavering validation has been invaluable. I could not have asked for a person with whom it is easier to speak.
The second was the ease by which I have been able to access therapy. I found it surprising that I could manage to fit anything at all into my schedule, given how much I've struggled to access other forms of healthcare since moving to New Mexico. Many thanks to the staff at New Mexico Solutions for making the process easy.

He helped me come a long way. The front desk are only people too and are actually really nice. This place is special. I'm glad to be part of the U-turn family! My life has been significantly impacted by the program and relationships at U-turn. While I was there, God showed me the power of humility. He also showed me that even though I SAID I wanted to follow Him and walk in obedience, I would have a LOT of surrendering to do (and still do!) before I was no longer lord of my life. At U-turn, I learned what it means to ABIDE, to truly trust God to meet my needs and to stay at His cross. It was NOT easy, but nothing worthwhile ever comes easily. U-turn helps you get the things that really matter- maturity, sobriety, restoration, new life- fruits of the obedient and faithful follower. I graduated my 1st phase, and while I was there for 2 months i saw and met a lot of men that wanted to change, wanted restoration-but they wanted it on THEIR terms. That's not how God works, He plays second chair to nobody. We have to come to Him on His terms, and we have to live according to His will, not ours and that definitely includes discipleship and spiritual growth. Because of U-turn I gladly seek and follow His plan for me. I no longer live to fulfill my flesh or empty desires, life has been so good and sobriety is just one of the benefits of my new life.
If you're considering this program for yourself or for a loved one, then trust and believe God has you (or them) right where you're supposed to be and that nothing happens "by chance". For one reason or another, U-turn is before you-so I'll finish with this:U-TURN WORKS.😀 Lives are changed and miracles happen everyday at U-turn. God moves through the program, in and around the lives of the residents and you'll literally feel His presence the moment you walk through the ranch's front door. It's a place full of hard work and God's grace. At the ranch they have a belief, that "PRAYER CHANGES THINGS". If you're considering U-turn for yourself or a family member, I encourage you to pray and ask what God wants you to do. If you're honestly seeking Him, He'll leave no doubt in your mind what He desires. Be blessed!
U-turn, thank you for the foundation you've helped me lay. I thank God for allowing me to become a member the family! 😎 God bless you and all the people He brings to the ministry.

Our 17 year old daughter discharged a few weeks ago. She had several challenges going in to the program. We had previously used a wilderness therapy program with little to no success. Per a recommendation of an educational consultant, we contacted Desert Hills. We toured and talked to several places around the country before deciding on Desert Hills. I would say we were 90% satisfied with everything that happened while she was there. When you have that many (maybe 8-10) emotionally challenged teenagers in a unit, things are bound to happen. If you go into a program like this expecting perfection, you will be sadly disappointed. What we liked most about the program was her therapist Yvonne. Our daughter truly bonded with her and had a great working relationship with her. They kept us informed about any problems that arose very quickly, yes even in the middle of the night, because of a time difference. The billing and travel arranging staff were always helpful. We were able to visit at least once a month and take her out for a day on pass. She was also able to call home almost every night. Her stay was approximately 4 months. We see lots of positive changed in her ability to deal with her personal issues. As I stated before, if you think you are going to get a perfect child back, think again. Our daughter, because of her bonding with Yvonne, had a positive outcome because she wanted it. Not because she was forced to. Some of the negatives include daily unit staff being sometimes ill equipped to deal with unruly teenagers. (although I would not want there job) Lack of time off the units to get out into the community to relieve boredom and stress was sometimes an issue. Our daughter gained weight as a result. Also, on the day of admission, no one was clearly in charge of taking parent on a tour of the facility and explaining who the contacts were for each department.
Overall it was a positive experience and but the residents will only get out of the program what they are willing to receive.

Desert Hills was a God send for my granddaughter. The staff of her unit provided her with the tools to become a functional teenager. Her therapist was exceptional. It is a difficult task to transition a person back to highschool life. They did a great job. No it is not perfect. There are a lot of challenges. They handled them well. The calling is hard to connect to your adolescent but when you handle that many callers it is tough. Thanks again for everything you have done for us.
