I’ll admit the process to get in is kind of annoying but the therapist I wound up seeing was really helpful. I still go back to him occasionally. He helped me come a long way. The front desk are only people too and are actually really nice. I’m going back and forth between the 4 and 5 star because of the intake process because it’s so annoying 😭😂 Fill out 2 packets then make an apt to answer questions (takes about 30-45min) then you make an apt with a therapist. Throughout the United States, New Mexico has my number one. Vote for the healthcare for all veterans, and I've only been to 2 others lomelinda, California, which is always busy and always slammed for the veterans, and then there's the one on oho street in Tucson Arizona, where I was sent to go by the VA from New Mexico. For special medical treatment that the VA back then do not offer here. But they found me a facility where I could go and get my medical treatment done. That's what I call looking out for a veteran during a tough situation. You must fit the system or the system will absolutely ignore you. Seek the help of the administrators and the intake nurses and carefully follow their directions otherwise you will suffer all kinds of frustrations. Be kind to the little folks. They will help you. The more senior folks are frustrated with the system as well and don't have that much time to assist you. So do yourself a favor and really pay attention to the junior people. Have your act together beforehand. Search the internet and know what you need and what the system can provide. That way unrealistic expectations do not frustrate them as well as you. I got a good job, my relationships with my girlfriend, family, friends are a 100 times better. My health is better, my mind is clear, I am learning everyday to love my sober self again thanks to Cenakor! Honestly, I can't really complain. I had 3 meals a day, plus fruits as a snack. Yes, we shared a dorm but I had a good dorm group for the most part. We had a comfortable bed, a small laundry room with 2 wash days, we had easy chores to keep our minds busy that helped with the rehabilitation process. I did dishes the whole time I was there when we weren't attending our classes and AA meetings etc. Which sometimes involved activities throughout the day, we had plenty of free time. We could smoke cigarettes, that was a plus for me. I would play basketball, volleyball, I learned to play spades, and make bracelets. We would also play music on the speaker at night time, we would get chips and salsa for our night meetings, we got popcorn when we watched movies. I know Cenakor isn't a Marriott hotel but for what it's business purpose is, I don't have a single complaint. I am truly grateful for Cenikor and the BHTs I got to know while I was in recovery. Shout out to the staff members Daphne, Michael, and Kayla. They were a big part of my recovery and still are. Also, to the entire medical/nurse staff.
