Oravec has been my medication manager for years and he is very knowledgeable and kind, he listens to all my issues and takes the time to go over everything and fully explain new medications. I feel very secure having him manage my mental health meds. The therapists themselves are also very knowledgeable and are actually trauma informed (where many therapists who say they are trauma informed actually aren't). This is one of the best mental health facilities I've ever gone to, across many states.

I waa very skeptical when my sister was sent here. She has been hospitalized in four different places over three years but the doc and staff here were awesome. The doctor was the smartest our family has met in ten years in three different states. He took his time and found out what was really going on. She has been stable for the first time in her life. She was here more than two months ago but I felt I should leave a review to let people know they have really good docs and staff now. It's not a physically great place but frankly it doesn't matter if the providers are this good. I dont know how they got such good people to come way out here, but Southern NM is very very fortunate. We live in a city and havent seen this kind of quality. Thank you for all you did for my sister.

Please don't admit yourself or send your children to this hospital. The nurses and techs will lie. They will refuse to give necessary medication (for seizures, as a real example) and deprive you of everything whilst ignoring genuine problems. Dr. Black, the psychiatrist, never once showed up on time during my stay. I was lucky I was sent home very quickly. This place was an absolute nightmare, especially in hindsight, and I'm genuinely sorry for anyone who has to experience this place in the future. None of the staff should be as proud as they act. This hospital (and their sister hospital, Carlsbad Medical Center) could probably be given an award for having the most disrespectful and uncaring staff in the entire state of New Mexico. Wishing everyone who has ever been sent here—past, present, and future–the ability to have a much happier life without needing the care from people who don't actually care about *you*.

This Ranch is nothing short of Amazing! Community is what you make of it. Many like me have come from different paths, culture and beliefs, yet still we all share the same goal. That is to not die in Addiction. The road to recover has its challenges. Yeah I’m not gonna say that all mental hospitals are like this because that’s not the case. I’ve heard multiple success stories of mental hospitals actually really helping people over the years but this was absolutely not it. I stayed there for a full week in the adolescent unit and I can promise you that it was not a good experience and everyone else in that unit would fully agree with me. The staff are mediocre at best, don’t get me wrong I had a lot of great interactions with some, but there were quite a few standouts that were awful. All we did was stay in a room and color with very limited and dried out crayola markers. We barely got to go outside and when we did half the time the heat made it very uncomfortable to be outside. Some staff were incredibly rude. Conditions in rooms were awful, they were extremely humid and hot, and there was a termite infestation. There was multiple people making complaints about bugs in the rooms and on/in the bed frames and all we were told is that “They were small and there’s nothing to do” which I’m sorry but being neglectful to your property upkeep while forcing multiple people to stay there is ridiculous. We were only allowed to speak to people for ten minutes a day. And if someone called us most of the time the staff never would get back to us about the call. And if you had a mental breakdown about the conditions or your situation they wouldn’t be empathetic and would only keep you there longer. When most of the time people were having breakdowns because they wanted to go home. I’m not a doctor, far from it. But keeping people in a poorly staffed, underfunded, poorly managed environment and expecting them to just magically “get better” is just awful and unethical. I’m not saying everyone in this place didn’t care but it was an alarming amount.
