I wanted to wait a year before i left a review about my experience at Vista, and here we are. I am 1 year and 1 month sober !! When i first came to the facility i was in terrible shape, physically and mentally. I fought the treatment for weeks before i saw that i was actually getting better. I found my higher power in this place and my life has changed in dramatic ways. I have no urge whatsoever to return to my previous way of life and i must give the credit to Vista. I want to thank all of the people there for helping me see things differently. God is all around this place if you recognize the many signs.

I completed the 30-day program at Vista Taos and had an amazing experience and met a lot of great people during my stay. I have been in other treatment centers and Vista Taos is by far the best! JD was my therapist and had great knowledge and experience when it came to relapse prevention, identifying triggers and learning about the disease of addiction as well as tapping into trauma and trauma response actions. If you're looking for a rehab that works, this is the place to go. The environment is serene and peaceful. Weekly outings, 5-star meals, off-site meetings, individual therapy, queen sized comfy beds, full bathrooms with tubs or standing showers all accommodated for a comfortable stay for me while I was being rehabilitated for Methamphetamines and Alcohol. The staff was kind and respectful towards my needs and gave great inspiration and encouragement during my stay. Vista Taos is by far the best rehab in New Mexico. If you're searching for yourself or a loved one, this is the place to go. Don't hesitate, make the call now!

The facilities and environment and programs at Vista Taos are exceptional. I researched many rehab facilities in the U.S. in several states (NM, Ariz., Utah, Colorado, Texas, Louisiana, Florida) and after careful consideration of all features, size, programs, quality of care, offerings, environment -- Vista came out on top, as my #1 pick best of all rehab programs.Also, the intake counselor Jeremy was extraordinary, he took so much time and care to discuss programs and specifics, and advise me about pros and cons of rehab in general, what to look for, how to evaluate programs, and how to select the best options for my family member. He even helped me network with other rehabs to get their info and compare. He is an amazing resource and the most caring, giving intake person I encountered in all rehabs I searched. I had went to shadow mountain a few years back, and they have really helped me change my life for the better. I went in anxious and insecure, and everyone here (including Randal and Richard, and a lot more staff I can’t remember the name of) had lifted me up and supported me in ways I’ve never experienced in other facilities. Randal had helped me become more confident in myself while Richard had helped me understand my relationship with life and god deeper, and they gave me the opportunity to go forward to another sober living out in Huntington Beach, which has all lead to me coming up on 2 years sober this months, a finance I love, and a life that I feel like I’m thriving in. Shadow mountain was a fundamental part of my life changing from relentless drug abuse and hurting myself and others around me, to growth in myself and a life where I have value and purpose. This is an exceptional treatment experience for addiction. The staff, led by the amazing Randall Staton, is extraordinary; many professionals passionate about helping people like me. The facility itself is nestled in Shadow Mountain and it is well maintained and very comfortable. The mountain itself is a very spiritual place. It has a lot of power and one can feel it just by being there. If you or a loved one needs help with addiction, I highly recommend Shadow Mountain Recovery in Taos, New Mexico. It's one of a kind and truly effective.

Been going since I was a teen and they’ve always been professional and accommodating. I’ve seen a few different therapists and have learned everyone has different teaching methods that may not suit you individually. Don't let courtesy stop you from asking to change to a different provider. However it's a bit unfortunate they removed services from over the phone for those that live far but don't have the means to video call.

Saw a nurse practitioner today, I believe her name was Hardin. She was excellent! She was receptive and responsive in creating a treatment plan for me. Office staff and medical assistant were also kind and personable. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience

Al Gonzales is my therapist, a Veteran and is extremely helpful and therapeutic in many aspects of my life. In years past I had a doctor, there, who put me on multiple medications, he changed my life. I was a complete mess. Overweight, depressed, feeling worthless. I need help suffering from acute cPTSD and with undiagnosed ADHD. I was a crime victim at the bad end of injustice. They failed to recognize the ADHD and offered no help. Even with the understanding that I was crime victim who needed advocacy. Additionally the PTSD was uncomfortable until I began therapy and treatment after the ADHD diagnosis. I now know that slv behavior health disregarded the signs and was more than willing to toss me to wolves.

I’m a CDT hiker that needed to see a doctor as I was passing thru. They fit me in the day before a holiday weekend. Every staff member was so kind: front desk, nurses and doctor. My prescriptions came out to 0.25$ and I didn’t have a quarter. The kind woman at the front desk paid for my prescriptions for me.

I am traveling through the area and had a horrible tooth ache. Everyone knows a toothache is the worst, especially when you’re on the road far from your dentist. I was able to get in first thing Monday morning to see the dentist, get the tooth taken care of and be on my way. The employees are courteous, kind and sympathetic. I am so very grateful that they were available to take care of me. The dentist was knowledgeable, assessed the situation and had it taken care of pronto. Thanks Presbyterian Medical Services of Cuba.

I like to leave high star reviews just in hopes maybe someone will actually realize it’s about wanting change and not ruining a business chance at it by affecting their overall ratings. I agree with the comment; “The clinicians are either great or terrible…” ABSOLUTELY. The front desk is cold 98% of the time, has a way of making you feel like an absolute waste of space, time, and effort……Now if this was an Arby’s, or maybe even an eye dr, honestly I’d probably move about my day. But this is MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES. The thought of having people with god awful bedside manner when you’re in such a time of need & vulnerability is absolutely infuriating. Some of us are crippled by social interaction, especially phone calls/confrontation, the least you could expect is someone with more than a monotone voice and dead look in their eyes. Maybe it’s because the fronts & and clinicians are properly medicated/regulated so they come across with no form of emotion….Lapsing on meds, no call backs for days/weeks. I won’t list my dr quite yet in hopes there is progress made. These are quite literally peoples lives you are playing with, if you only have a textbook perception of these disorders, maybe it’s time to look at a different industry.

For six months, they've been extremely helpful and flexible with payment and schedules. For the first time in 26 years, this is the first place where I really fit in, feel accepted, and have my needs and preferences met. Been going here for about six months. They've been extremely helpful and flexible with payment when my insurance lapsed. I've been visiting counseling for 20 years, and this is the first place I've been where I really fit in, feel accepted, and have my needs and preferences met. The other person who left a one star review is probably projecting. These people do a great job and work hard. They even provide things like soap, toothpaste, and small candies for people hard on their luck. They deserve all the support they can get!

After having a really bad fall a few years ago, I had residual pain in my lower back. I struggled to do simple tasks that required bending. I recently pulled a muscle in my back which made things worse. My daughter did some research and found Dr. Scher, which I am so grateful to be under her care. After my initial visit with Dr. Scher, I had almost immediate results. I was pleasantly surprised that situations that previously felt overwhelming now seemed manageable. Dr. Scher encourages positivity, managing emotions and practicing self compassion. She emphasizes that stress and emotional challenges need to be addressed from both a nervous system level and a connection level that leads to improved health on many levels, including physical health. I tried other methods of healing that temporarily made me comfortable, but the pain came back. I found that just trying to fix the pain didn’t help me heal. I had went to shadow mountain a few years back, and they have really helped me change my life for the better. I went in anxious and insecure, and everyone here (including Randal and Richard, and a lot more staff I can’t remember the name of) had lifted me up and supported me in ways I’ve never experienced in other facilities. Randal had helped me become more confident in myself while Richard had helped me understand my relationship with life and god deeper, and they gave me the opportunity to go forward to another sober living out in Huntington Beach, which has all lead to me coming up on 2 years sober this months, a finance I love, and a life that I feel like I’m thriving in. Shadow mountain was a fundamental part of my life changing from relentless drug abuse and hurting myself and others around me, to growth in myself and a life where I have value and purpose. This is an exceptional treatment experience for addiction. The staff, led by the amazing Randall Staton, is extraordinary; many professionals passionate about helping people like me. The facility itself is nestled in Shadow Mountain and it is well maintained and very comfortable. The mountain itself is a very spiritual place. It has a lot of power and one can feel it just by being there. If you or a loved one needs help with addiction, I highly recommend Shadow Mountain Recovery in Taos, New Mexico. I’ve been coming to New Mexico Treatment Center for some time now there’s been a lot of staff that have came an gone it’s sad just when we start to open up to these counselors the next week they’re gone .Theres a few really good counselors up stairs .Theres 1 Dedicated to Her patience the most is Darlene, any time anyone has questions or concerns she’s on it. She goes above & beyond for her patience helps get dog food donated for those who are homeless with animals. They didn’t have security when I first started coming now they do it’s helped, u just have those without any where to go so yes they do hang around . I think they’re should be more programs that are hands on because Being an addict is one thing and for some it’s even harder for some to sit in a room full active users it makes it hard for those who are taking their sobriety serious. Keep up the fight to end addiction.

From John Aicher the director of operations, to Kim who did my intake, to all the BHP's/facilitators and staff (Austin, Heather, Katrina, Val, Larry, Roxanne, Raya, Raelee, Esther, Nina, Elizabeth, Coach Al, Cro) the nurses (Ricky, Dillon, Ayana, Shay, Lala) the kitchen staff (Phil, Don, Steve) to my case manager (Roxie) my therapist (Jason), my hiking homies (Eddie & Rob) and Theresa (mamacita!) for all of their help and positivity during my time there. I attended a 30-day residential program at Mountain Springs, it was a very pleasant experience. The staff was phenomenal. I learned a lot in the groups. The counselors and facilitators did a fantastic job.

I attended Mountain Springs Recovery from April to July and it was truly a life changing experience. I first want to say that one of the things I learned from MSR from the Counselors, is that everyone attempting or going through Substance Use Disorders is going through their own individual part of their journey. My point is that not everyone's circumstances are the same and you will get as much out of it as much as you put into it. Do you really WANT to get better? For me, I did. I had the mindset that I did not want my life to be defined by my addiction, so I went into MSR with an open mind and willing to be Open, Honest and Transparent. I didn't care what others thought, I needed to answer the question...why do I feel like I need alcohol to fill this empty space in me...and more importantly, what is the root of that empty space. The staff, counselors, and administrators provided every opportunity and the tools I needed to answer that question. Not everything applied to my specific issues, I had to listen carefully and be honest about myself that, 'wow, that hits home with me', or 'I definitely need to work on this or that'. In my opinion, the counselors cannot possibly know every reason why clients are there, they can only provide the tools, based on actual research, and hope that each client grabs on to what is pulling at them to get better. In my opinion, the counselors aren't there to 'fix you', you are there to try and figure out why you are there based on your individual life experiences and reasons for Substance Use. My advice is to be open, honest and transparent with yourself and approach your time there as your time to focus. During my time at MSR I was able to identify the root of that emptiness in me and that was huge. Just finding what I couldn't figure out myself over the course of my life was priceless to me. I now have the reason, the tools, motivation and confidence to be proud of my sobriety. I have been sober now 8 months, but continue to work on my maintenance of sobriety by voluntarily going into Intensive Outpatient Treatment immediately after MSR and I am still in it today. I give my highest recommendation to Mountain Springs Recovery and the tools they gave me to maintain sobriety.
