Thank you New Mexico wellness! New Mexico wellness is a great place to get treatment. You are able to discuss the issues that cause you to drink. You get more than lessons on breathing, mindfulness and emotional regulation. You get true care and support. I was discharged early due to my dishonest behavior. However I have been out for 5 days now and have not had a drink. Every other rehab I've been to I either had a drink the same day or the day after I left. I have true hope for my future. They have medically assisted treatment for both alcohol and narcotics. I highly recommend New Mexico wellness. They're not perfect but neither is anybody or any place. I got what I needed to stay sober for the rest of my life I truly do thank New Mexico wellness and all the staff.

THIS PLACE SAVED MY LIFE! Like lots of people out there i struggled with addiction, going nowhere fast and pretty much bed ridden! I was lucky enough to receive 1 of very few openings at the time and now I've been a patient here with this team for many years! Dr Ro is definitely one of if not the best Dr I've ever had! Thanks guys! I know i say it alot but you are all the reason I'm still here and living my best life! It can be quite difficult to get into Santa Fe Recovery Center(SFRC) through traditional means. I suggest making a visit to a Santa Fe hospital emergency room and telling the doctor you want to go to SFRC detox. These patients are given priority.
I found Santa Fe Recovery to be the best detox I have attended in long list of treatments attempted in new mexico. With the help and support of SFRC I was able to launch the longest period of clean time I have achieved to date. I most certainly recommend it. There is no magic pill or program that will fix an addict. There's no cure for addiction. There is only treatment, which, with the full participation of the addict, can be of great assistance in regaining a happy and healthy life.
If you encounter a problem that threatens your detox or recovery you must advocate for yourself. You cannot expect people to read your mind.
Any current medications must be reviewed and documented by a doctor at the time of entrance. Make sure staff has this documentation before beginning detox to prevent any interruption of dosing. Otherwise it'll have to be re- prescribed by their doctor who is very busy, so this may take 5 days or more.
If someone asks you to take a medication you are allergic to Do Not Take It! Inform or repeat the issue to staff. They do not force medication in your mouth and compel you to swallow it.
Do not expect to get along with every single staff member; they are people just like us; sometimes with personalities that clash with our own. Avoid staff that upset you or make you uncomfortable when possible. Tell your counselor the situation. They can advise the best course of action.
Do not expect any staff member to work harder for you than you do for yourself; no one can do this for you.
Even if detox/rehab doesn't go the way you had hoped or you are not able maintain recovery at worst you were able to achieve a bit of clean time(which is no small thing) and you know where to come back when you're ready. Or where not to come back and try another program. Just keep trying. Our worst and most compleat failures are the goals we never attempt to reach

I went to Shadow Mountain Rehab to address my issues with alcoholism and addiction. After realizing that for years I had been a functional addict I thought quitting or curbing this addiction would be easy but this disease is not so simple. Making the decision to go to Shadow Mountain Recovery in Taos, NM did not come lightly but I did understatement how much personal effort I would be putting in. 30 days doesn't solve everything but it does give you a chance to at least take stock of all that's going on in your life. Drinking and Drugs are just a symptom of something deeper and unique to each individual addressing their issues. This program gave me the tools and support to truly begin the process of addressing addiction, searching within and finding myself. I am 2 months sober now and my journey that began in the mountains of Taos goes on but the journey has definitely been made easier by what I learned in recovery. Sobriety is possible & if you work it guess what, it can work!

Hello, my name is David Coronado My life dramatically change ever since I came to teen challenge. It’s September 3 of 2024. I decided to come to New Mexico, adult teen challenge ever since I came to get help to New Mexico, they’ve been nothing but kind to me. I’ve had some good counseling sessions. they’ve shown me the love of Christ I’ve been getting into the word getting and closer to God. I’ve came to a conclusion there’s no other way. But with God I also gave my life to the Lord on April 13, 2025 at harvest Church Ever since I got baptized, it was an eye-opening experience none of this would have happened If it wasn’t for teen challenge in New Mexico, I just want to tell you guys thank you for what you have done and it’s all through Christ I graduated this program in September 28 of 2025 I decided to become an intern So that I could help other students grow in the recovery, not only that they are helping me heal I know that this is my calling and I am truly inspired by the way these men have taken up there cross and carried it daily. There strength gives. The guidance of my leaders like Juan the directer and my fellow co disciples leade me daily. My heart is fed by the word of God and I feel that my cup being filled allowed me to help pour out on others that need to be lead. My life is no longer but used to do the will God here in teen challenge.

The space is like a protective compound of renovated homes with a central peaceful garden and multiple therapy spaces. It feels safe, comfortable, and thoughtful. I’ve only had 2 sessions, but all of the worry and anxiety of being in a new environment and situation melted away during the first session. We haven’t started the work of therapy just yet, but I’m optimistic about the journey given the amazing start.
Update: Seven months later and I'm still very much impressed. Crystal is a wonderful therapist and a beautiful soul. I'll be honest, the first 4 months felt like a rinse and spin cycle. Where to start. I am very livid with the way this "Facility" handles Patients/Family. From the initial contact call made last Friday, Assessment process on Monday, to the "Acceptance" call Today from "Erin Soki" (excuse my spelling, who calls herself Admissions whatever).
She called today advising my daughter was accepted and had a bed ready for her. From my assessment held on Monday 10/29/18, I had received one call from the Assessor asking one more question the "Doctor" wanted to know. He advised he would be in contact. (Mind you, this man Joseph Webb, was not prepared for anything. Making me sign here and there without providing me with the documents I was signing I received!?!) No call received regarding her diagnosis.
So, I advised Erin that I was still waiting on a call for results she rudely talks over me, stating, "We don't give you results from assessments. An assessment is when you give us information!" Okay. I am very educated nor am I delayed. I can comprehend conversations. Because my daughter is need of "help", do not undermine me or ANY parent for that matter! How freaking rude. She continues to ask if I wanted the bed for my daughter. And I continue to tell her, "I need to know what they are planning to treat her for before I consent to treatment!" So she then states, "if you are not going to take the bed we need to move on to the next child." Me to Erin, "You should move on to the next child because you are crazy to think I would allow my child to go there without proper information on why you are going to keep her there!"
So after she had agreed to provide me with the "Diagnosis" FROM the "Assessment" she hangs up. The whole time she is very rude. Speaks with so much attitude I thought she was ready to get physical over the phone! Like what!? You are a worker! This is a place of Employment. "Professionalism" is seriously lacking at this poorly ran Facility. And this is my 3rd encounter. I can imagine the care the children receive. I am starting to think they are in it for the insurance money only. Not interested in providing our children with the proper care they require.
So. I call back, I need to know her name! She answers. I ask, "Are you the person I was just speaking to?" Her, "Yes!" Me: "Okay, who is your supervisor?" "Crystal Esperanza, I can transfer you to her" Me: "No need, I just need her number... And...." *TRANSFER*
This. Female. I just need my diagnosis for my daughter! I called "Crystal Esperanza" after leaving "Erin Soki" a message advising I did not appreciate her rude manners, I needed the diagnosis for my daughter, if she was incapable of being nice and professional do not call me back.
Parents. We are going through a lot with our children. We do not deserve Service like this. They are very Unprofessional. I will be damned if any person or facility treats me this way. Let alone be able to provide care for my child who cannot advocate for herself. Imagine how they treat our children when we leave them in their care. ? No. Thanks.
Staff who work directly with the children. Hats off to ya! The people you have to deal with that sign them paychecks or you have to see... 💩😤

This place deserves a lot more credit than the reviews show. They handle and immense number of patients and still manage to get me in and out smoothly most days.
I can’t express how wonderful it is not to have to drive down I25 across town.

The counselors here are licensed to provide drug and alcohol counseling, individual therapy and group therapy. These services are available to help both adults and adolescents. Additional services at this facility include the tr | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I began much-needed individual therapy this month at New Mexico Solutions. It has helped my interior life substantially already. I want to mention two qualities that stand out.
The first was what has helped me the most. I have worked thus far with Alexa Brown who is doing a phenomenal job taking me seriously. I struggle with the impression that the people around me do not, on even the most fundamental level, have any respect for me, and, as I unravel myself in order to heal the parts of myself about which I'm most ashamed, Alexa's unwavering validation has been invaluable. I could not have asked for a person with whom it is easier to speak.
The second was the ease by which I have been able to access therapy. I found it surprising that I could manage to fit anything at all into my schedule, given how much I've struggled to access other forms of healthcare since moving to New Mexico. Many thanks to the staff at New Mexico Solutions for making the process easy.

As a young alcohol and drug counselor, I referred my first client to Vista Taos Renewal Center in 1997. Over these 25 or so years, I have referred many clients to this fine facility located in the beautiful Taos NM area, consistently with positive results. If you, or someone you know, is in need of treatment, these folks have consistently provided life saving treatment for a very long time and I would put them on my short list of facilities providing this sort of treatment in NM.

I’m a CDT hiker that needed to see a doctor as I was passing thru. They fit me in the day before a holiday weekend. Every staff member was so kind: front desk, nurses and doctor. My prescriptions came out to 0.25$ and I didn’t have a quarter. The kind woman at the front desk paid for my prescriptions for me.
I highly recommend this place.

I am traveling through the area and had a horrible tooth ache. Everyone knows a toothache is the worst, especially when you’re on the road far from your dentist. I was able to get in first thing Monday morning to see the dentist, get the tooth taken care of and be on my way. The employees are courteous, kind and sympathetic. I am so very grateful that they were available to take care of me. The dentist was knowledgeable, assessed the situation and had it taken care of pronto. Thanks Presbyterian Medical Services of Cuba.
