About New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center

New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center is a Rio Rancho, New Mexico, addiction and mental health clinic. Adults can receive integrated medication assisted and evidence-based treatment. They specialize in inpatient and outpatient medical detox, and aftercare for opiates, alcohol, cocaine, benzodiazepines, and meth.

Their specially trained staff understands the challenges you can experience on your recovery journey. You’ll benefit from a comfortable place to live or visit weekly for treatment. They offer individual and group counseling, peer support groups, intensive case management, and medication assisted detox.

I love how this facility emphasizes the significance of holistic treatment in addiction care. Caring for overall health is essential for recovery. They offer plenty of health and wellness programs, including yoga, mindfulness, music and art therapy, gardening, nature outings, and nutritional counseling. These approaches help clients build themselves up mentally, physically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally, on top of achieving their recovery goals. Their care is also culturally competent, strengths based, and trauma informed, giving you a personalized treatment experience.

Most clients praise them for their warm, empathetic care, multidisciplinary team of professionals, and emphasis on nurturing the mind, body, and soul. A few reviewers either didn’t have pleasant experiences with admissions, had a lack of response, or had poor interactions with staff.

The Rio rancho office never got back to us after submitting an application. One I contacted them were not helpful at all. Sent message for a superior to contact me and received a response from Geri at the Taos location. She was very helpful and quick to get my son in patient. Things went smooth initially. After a week in patient received a call from the Clinician that my son would have to be picked up as he did not need that level of treatment. No good explanation. There was a quirk with billing that I was getting resolved. I feel this was the issue since this was the initial reason I was contacted by the clinician. They obviously don t really care about the patients well being . Recommended IOP therapy which my son did twice and was not working for him. They are the ones who recommended in patient treatment and referred me to NM wellness. Why would they accept him after having an application and phone intake if they felt he did not need that level of treatment? What a waste of time and trauma to my son who was never told he was being released until my husband showed up for him to his surprise. Was not even packed or ready. Don t waste your time go somewhere else where they care.

Terrible management that needs to be trained!!! leadership that actually knows how to Run a safe and healthy environment!!! They do not take the time to listen to their patients concerns whatsoever, and threaten them on sending them back to jail if they don t comply. Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Clients enrolled in outpatient rehab programs may receive daily, biweekly, or weekly treatment while continuing to live at home. This enables clients to integrate their recovery care plan into their routine work and family schedule. Addiction counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT) are the most common services offered at outpatient centers, but many also provide holistic therapies, such as meditation and massage, and ancillary services, such as career coaching.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehabs are often clients' first stage of treatment following detox, and many, but not all, provide medically supervised detox services in the same inpatient facility. Clients in inpatient treatment receive intensive clinical support and supervision. They reside at the treatment center for the duration of the program and typically engage in multiple addiction counseling sessions and/or recovery-focused life skills courses each day. Many treatment centers also offer evidence-based complementary therapies, such as yoga and meditation.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) provide robust support for clients who choose to remain in their own homes or who are reintegrating into their community following inpatient care. IOP treatment generally consists of a combination of individual, group, and family counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, and evidence-based holistic therapies. Many intensive outpatient rehabs also offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) for clients in alcohol and/or opioid recovery. Clients in IOP typically receive nine to 20 hours of treatment weekly.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs promote clients' long-term recovery by providing a robust continuum of care aligned with clients' evolving needs. Because addiction is a chronic disease prone to relapse, rehab aftercare services are highly client-focused and uniquely responsive to clients' changing medical, mental health, and social circumstances. Case managers and care teams collaborate with clients, assess their goals and needs, and provide access to recovery-focused resources, such as peer coaching, employment assistance, and relapse prevention services.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs promote comprehensive and continuing care for persons in recovery through peer support and personal growth. Regular attendance at 12 step meetings is required. Participants also select a peer sponsor who mentors sponsees through the recovery journey. Though the 12 steps of recovery are rooted in the belief in a higher power, religious affiliation is not mandatory. These programs are designed to facilitate self-understanding and forgiveness, personal accountability, and acceptance of that which cannot be changed.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
Medical detox is offered under 24-hour clinical care in New Mexico. This setting includes a team of professionals who can address your physical, emotional, and mental health needs 24/7. Doctors often prescribe medications to relieve withdrawal symptoms and make the process safer and more comfortable. This level of care continues until you have completed detox and are medically cleared to move on to outpatient or inpatient rehab.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
When your body is purged of all addictive substances, the process is known as detoxification, and this is typically the first step in the addiction recovery process. A medically assisted detox is generally performed in an inpatient setting, where you are monitored by a team of medical professionals who consistently check and recheck your vital signs and provide medications if necessary to help alleviate any withdrawal symptoms. After you've safely cleared drugs and alcohol from your system, you'll likely transition to an inpatient addiction treatment program for the next phase of your recovery.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Group therapy sessions in New Mexico are structured and led by professional therapists with experience in leading groups. This ensures that the group discussions are focused and productive and that therapeutic goals are consistently addressed during each session.

Individual therapy offers men and women a customized approach to explore the root causes of their substance use and develop healthy coping mechanisms. This improves the effectiveness of treatment and helps to foster long term sobriety. Sessions usually involve an in depth exploration of your life experiences, including harmful behaviors and thoughts that drive addictive behavior.

The focus of trauma therapy is on healing the emotional wounds that happen after a traumatic experience. You may have witnessed the event or experienced it yourself. Your therapist will guide you through confronting those memories, which helps promote emotional regulation, resilience, and mental well being.

If you attend couples therapy in New Mexico, you can expect to work with the therapist and each other to identify emotions, explore your history, and learn new skills to help you better meet relationship challenges. These skills may include problem solving, conflict resolution, and anger management.

Therapists in New Mexico focus on creating a supportive network in family therapy sessions. This helps to support their loved one's recovery journey. By identifying dysfunctional patterns, your therapist can help you develop healthier ways of interacting with each other that significantly improve the overall treatment outcome.

Substance use disorders disrupt thinking and behavior patterns, which interferes with critical life skills. Drug rehab programs in New Mexico include life skills training to allow you to rebuild those skills. You'll relearn how to think, behave, and interact with others in healthy ways so you can successfully navigate daily life.

Drug rehab in New Mexico may include a focus on nutrition therapy. This treatment involves input from your healthcare providers and a nutritionist. They will help you develop a dietary plan that supports your recovery process.

Through recreational therapy, you engage in activities that support your mental and physical health, as well as promote your addiction recovery. The activities might include team sports, creative arts, or yogurt to help manage your stress, improve your mood, and build a supportive network of individuals who help you maintain your long term sobriety.

Medical treatment was denied. The patient could not breathe, hear or sleep. His surgery was denied after a doctors note was provided and the facility nurse approved. Administration was too lazy to make happen. The patient completed 90 day treatment, the counselor signed off on his graduation. Administration denied his success. They are keeping people against their will and fraudulently using insurance. I have filed a complaint with the New Mexico Department of Behavioral Health. Go elsewhere.

This place goes against a lot of city laws potentially putting clients at risk of their sobriety every day. Idk how they’re still open! They’re a complete joke. Terrible management they need leadership that actually know how to be good leaders ! They’re discriminating against good employees and accuse people of things that they didn’t even do! They do not take the time to understand and listen to their staff whatsoever. I do not recommend this business for employment!

Kicked me out after seeing my sons birth came back tired and they assumed I was high on fentanyl. Then they said that I took too many of my own suboxone strips and that they could not admit me back in. Why even give me my prescription if im not supposed to take them. Should have said something or only given me enough for 3 days away. How was I supposed to know I couldn't take a few more than I did there?. I was on 3 strips per day on the streets. And on top of everything you guys forgot to give me my prescription when I left to begin with so I was stuck without anything withdrawaling. So when I finally did get my suboxone I was able to take what I felt was enough to stop my withdrawals. Anyways thanks for kicking me out when I had no writeups, never late to class, passed every single UA, and even had a sponsor. Now I'm probably going to lose my daughter my family and definitely my freedom since I was court ordered to complete it...God bless you all and hopefully one day you guys answer for it. -Mark L

Thank you New Mexico wellness! New Mexico wellness is a great place to get treatment. You are able to discuss the issues that cause you to drink. You get more than lessons on breathing, mindfulness and emotional regulation. You get true care and support. I was discharged early due to my dishonest behavior. However I have been out for 5 days now and have not had a drink. Every other rehab I've been to I either had a drink the same day or the day after I left. I have true hope for my future. They have medically assisted treatment for both alcohol and narcotics. I highly recommend New Mexico wellness. They're not perfect but neither is anybody or any place. I got what I needed to stay sober for the rest of my life I truly do thank New Mexico wellness and all the staff.
