About Serenity Club
Serenity Club is an aftercare solution for people recovering from substance use disorders (SUDs) that will benefit greatly from peer support in Roswell, New Mexico. Although this is not a structured addiction recovery program, it serves as a community bridge resource for people who are in recovery. Rosewell is a great location for people who are interested in or excited by the lore that surrounds this iconic town.
Space fans will love that there is an International UFO Museum and Research Center in town. If you’re not a fan of aliens, then there are plenty of green spaces that can serve as a therapeutic complement to your peer support groups. For example, you can visit Spring River Park & Zoo and Cahoon Park.
Continued Aftercare Support
One of the biggest struggles people in addiction recovery face is finding consistent support once their outpatient programs are completed. Serenity Club works to serve as a resource for people who are transitioning completely to a sober lifestyle. For direct support, you can participate in either 12 step or AA/NA sessions that meet regularly.
The organization is a nonprofit that offers daily and weekly recovery meetings as well as social activities. However, this solution is best reserved for people who have reached a stable level in their recovery. Whether you’re actively enrolled in a medication assisted treatment (MAT) program elsewhere or have completed all the step down levels from inpatient to standard outpatient care, Serenity Club is here for you.
Resource Assistance
Because this is a nonprofit, Serenity Club can assist you with connecting with essential social services which might be needed to maintain your sobriety or independence. Just remember that this program is designed to be an aftercare support after you’ve solidified your relapse prevention rather than a first step for someone experiencing active addiction.
As a nonprofit, Serenity Club offers free or donor supported services to participants.

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.
Each drug rehab in New Mexico offers unique amenities and treatment methods. Common aspects of treatment include group and individual counseling, recreational therapy, medication management, and healthy living. Aftercare is often provided to prevent relapse.
Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.
