About Pacific Crest Trail Detox

Pacific Crest Trail Detox is a special place in Milwaukie, Oregon designed to support you through detox in a setting that feels less like a facility and more like a home. Their focus on substance use disorder care is matched by a commitment to comfort, safety, and structure. What strikes us most about them is how much thought they’ve put into creating an environment where you can begin to feel like yourself again. Pacific Crest Trail Detox stands out for combining medical support with a calm and thoughtful living environment that puts your comfort first.

Guiding You Through Detox to Recovery

The setting is private and calm, just outside Portland, making it easier to focus without distractions. You’ll receive 24 hour supervised care during medical detox, and have access to medication assisted treatment, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient services. If you’ve received substance related traffic offenses, they have programs to help with that too.

They accept many insurance providers, including TriCare, Moda, and Providence, and offer cash payment options as well.

Comfort Comes First

We love the cozy homes at Pacific Crest Trail Detox. You’ll stay in primarily gender specific rooms, each shared with just one other person and equipped with shared restrooms that prioritize safety and sobriety. The welcoming setting features clean, peaceful living areas so you can settle in without stress. We like that the entire space is built to feel supportive and calm rather than clinical.

Meals Made with Care

Three professionally cooked meals are served each day with specific dietary needs in mind. You’ll also have access to delicious snacks throughout the day to stay nourished and supported. These meals are more than food, they’re part of a routine that helps you feel cared for and grounded.

Parks and Quiet Time Nearby

After your treatment sessions, you might visit Milwaukie Riverfront Park or relax in Kellogg Creek Park’s green spaces. Elk Rock Island offers quiet trails for reflection and movement. These nearby spots give you space to breathe and reconnect with your surroundings.

Keaton, Kristen, and the rest of the staff at Pacific Crest Trail Detox are phenomenal! As a community partner, I know the great work that they do for their patients and I only ever hear glowing reviews about their facility and the care that they provide. I would recommend anyone I know that needs help to PCT because I trust that they will receive the care and compassion that they deserve. If I could give them 6 stars, I would!

An absolutely AMAZING facility and staff. This facility doesn't feel like you're in an actual medical detox, it feels more like house sitting for a friend but having access to a doctor/nurse 24/7. You can bring books and stuff to draw/write/paint and they will let you bring nicotine products like vapes and cigarettes in. They have a TV in living room with all the major streaming platforms like Netflix/Hulu/Prime/HBO and a few others They got me a bed and in very quickly and the intake process was also fast and not super invasive. Staff was very friendly and caring. You get 3 home cooked meals a day and they are GOOD. It's not some slop on a tray like jail or hospital food. They provide you a myriad of comfort medications and you don't have to argue and fight with them about it. They made sure I knew that I could come ask for more if I was feeling unwell. To top it off they really care about getting you into an aftercare program and getting the help you need to get back on your feet afterwards.

Update: Nearly 6 years later, I'm still clean & sober. This program did things for me that I couldn't have ever asked for. I was a stone-cold alcoholic: 25 beers/day was my unhealthy way of solving the problems that really drove my addiction. I was scared to start, but Pacific Crest Trail Detox helped me get clean. They helped me get into their sober houses to give me 3 months of what I really needed - a family that understood. Sober brothers, that knew my struggles and talked me thru them. I miss it.. Not the addiction, but the family. It was the best beginning I could've asked for on my sober path. Original: Pacific Crest Trail Detox helped me drastically in my journey to become sober and clean. The staff was extremely helpful. I highly recommend Pacific Crest Trail Detox to anyone considering detox.

Brian, I've looked at this several times since you posted. I'm so proud of you and your success. If you give me a call, I'll set you up with the alumni coordinator (he doesn't know he is yet), and maybe the two of you can plan a couple events for all alumni. Again, congratulations!! Best, Ben 503-901-1836

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

if your looking for a mini VACATION this is the spot. If your actually looking to DETOX good luck trying to sleep in the day time with residents being loud as they want nevermind the creeking floors. Told I wasn't being med compliant for not wanting to take numerous substances I'm addicted to. The final last straw was being threatened to be kicked out by the nurse while I was struggling to regain consciousness with all the "medicine" I was on. I could barley keep my eyes open yet understand anything that was happening in my surrounding areas only to be threatened to get kicked out for not following the rules when I'm literally barley even conscious is actually absurd. Also a client touched my food while on a behavioral contract in the kitchen which clients are not allowed to be in took the cylifain off of my plate right in front of me and contaminated my dinner. They have absolutely zero protocol with searching the client that's being admitting meaning you can sneak in whatever you please and a client that's been in this detox before sure took advantage of that and brought substances INTO the DETOX facility. Also their "men's residential program" is literally just a php program not a traditional inpatient rehab one would think about when a program is labeled with those words. All of this happened in a manner of 48 hours of my stay here, clearly my experience is my experience I wouldn't let my review detur you from getting the help you need. I just felt the need to write this review because I already don't have a voice, and to be mistreated like this by a NURSE of all people is cold and heartless. Of all people you'd think they'd be most understanding not making threats to the sick and the vulnerable.
