About Teen Challenge Ministry Institute
Located in South Gate, California, Teen Challenge Ministry Institute sits in the heart of Los Angeles County. It was originally founded by Reverend David Wilkerson. While Teen Challenge might not be what makes you think of a traditional drug rehab or alcohol recovery program immediately, they are known for their faith-based addiction recovery centers across the country.
However, the Teen Challenge Ministry Institute in South Gate is a little different. This location isn’t a detox center or outpatient addiction treatment program.
Instead, it’s a ministry training school connected to Teen Challenge Southern California. Its purpose is to prepare people for leadership roles within recovery focused Christian programs. The connection to addiction recovery still matters though. Many students here feel called to work directly with people struggling with substance abuse.
