Lakeside Milam Recovery Centers is located in Kirkland, Washington, and provides inpatient care to men and women living with an alcohol or drug dependency. Programs are gender separated so that individuals have the confidence to navigate recovery in a safe and supportive environment. This facility takes a comprehensive approach to care —an appro | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Lakeside Milam Inpatient in Kirkland, WA has given me a second chance at rebuilding my life and laying a foundation for sustainable recovery. After a 10-year stretch of sobriety, I relapsed—quickly spiraling into a dark, painful place that lasted longer than I ever imagined. When I reached out for help again, LMRC admitted me within just a few hours and welcomed me straight into detox.
During detox, patients are given the option to rest and regain strength or to begin joining group processing, lectures, and meals as soon as they are stable. Once detox is complete, the structure kicks in—every scheduled activity is required and punctuality is expected. That accountability, though challenging, sets the tone for living life with purpose and responsibility again.
What makes LMRC stand out is the depth and passion of its programming. The lectures are engaging and evidence-based, providing proven strategies for confronting addiction and personal struggles. Patients and families are educated on brain function, the science of addiction, communication tools, and practical steps for recovery. Family workshops and lectures reinforce the idea that healing is a shared journey.
The staff are another reason this place works. Many openly share their own recovery stories, modeling service and honesty—the cornerstones of active recovery. Compassion and accountability go hand in hand here; the team genuinely cares while also calling patients out when needed. The presence of doctors, ARNPs, psychologists, and nurses every day adds reassurance and professional oversight.
The daily life at LMRC also helps patients reset. Structured routines, balanced meals (with a salad bar, soups, snacks, and coffee in the mornings), designated tech time, movies on weekends, and free time for assignments or connection with peers all create a balanced environment. It’s structured without being suffocating.
Recovery is hard. It’s painful, emotional, and messy. But LMRC makes the path a little more manageable. They emphasize the fellowship of AA, CA, NA, and HA by offering in-house meetings with volunteers and trips to outside meetings several times a week. These opportunities remind us that addicts best help addicts, and alcoholics best help alcoholics.
Every patient receives an individualized Tx plan, with assignments and goals tailored to their needs, and the support remains consistent through the ups and downs. More than just a program, LMRC fosters willingness over denial, growth over shame, and community over isolation.
For anyone serious about breaking free from addiction, LMRC Inpatient in Kirkland is more than a treatment center—it’s a place where recovery begins or restarts, and can truly take root.
Special shout-outs:

Attending Lakeside has been one of the best decisions of my life. Their inpatient facility in Kirkland has a very welcoming atmosphere, the grounds are wooded and beautiful you get lots of free time to enjoy yourself mixed in with some very informative lectures and groups.
I spent some time at the outpatient facility and I would again suggest going there for inpatient, outpatient, or continuing care. I had a wonderful case worker for most of my time there who helped me navigate some challenging life experiences, and the groups I had there were invaluable to my recovery.
They are a 12 step focused treatment facility, but they also promote exploration of other programs and won't alienate you if you don't vibe with AA as your chosen method of recovery.
Thank you Lakeside Milam!

So upset this treatment center is closing!! Typical corporate decision. I am alive today because of their treatment. Clean & sober for 15 years with no desire to drink, do drugs, and/or binging on both. The comments from the new owners were disrespectful and ignorant about the process. Treatment is not easy in any program, but if it saves lives why end it. Shame on you Universal Healthcare! Many lives will be lost by closing this hospital.

I feel like it needs to be said that no one will kick an addiction in 10 days. Even the traditional 28 days won't end the addiction. There are no shortcuts to the life long journey you are embarking on, if you choose sobriety. What Schick does - is give you the tools, and take away the cravings so you can handle this huge life shift.
I have been abusing alcohol for 8 years and finally decided I needed professional help. Schick is working so far for me. I've been 81 days sober as of today.
What the treatment is like:
There is a daily schedule of meds, vitals, and group. You will spend the mid morning through mid afternoon either completing a sleepy (propofol conscious sedation treatment where they ask you a series of questions related to getting sober, and staying sober) and counseling, or a duffy (ipecac aversion treatment where they give you ipecac and then have you drink alcohol. you quickly become ill to associate drinking with nausea.). Late afternoon are various groups.
Pros:
-The medical director at the hospital is a true patient advocator. Sabrina is incredible.
-The community. I felt safe sharing in group, and gained some friends I imagine will be with me for life.
-The counselor John. I've been going to therapy the past ten years, but HE is my favorite person I've talked through my mental health with. Compassionate, empathetic, just a good listener, and has great life advice. He's been there done that, and helped me see some great perspective. His lectures are also my favorite.
-The program. Schick gives all of the same literature that any other rehab gives, but also has the aversion therapy, and sedation treatment.
-The resources. The media wall, the counselors, the lectures, the movies, the hypnosis videos, the 4 agreements, etc. There are so many resources it was hard to take them all in. But theyre all powerful and have continued to help me outside of Schick.
Cons:
-The nursing staff. For the most part I didn't have a problem. But some of the staff had no bedside manner whatsoever. Some said misogynistic comments. Some did room checks late at night with little regard to patients sleeping. Some argued with other nurses in front of me. Either the nurse was great or the nurse was pretty unprofessional. And I didn't see much inbetween.
-Not a diverse group at all. As a black queer female I felt out of place here. It's mostly white men in their 30s and 40s.

These outpatient programs va | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I am truly grateful for my time at this rehab facility. From the moment I arrived, I felt supported and understood. The staff here are not only compassionate, but also highly equipped to help people in the critical early stages of recovery. They provide guidance, structure, and encouragement that makes the process feel possible even on the hardest days.
One of the things that stood out most to me was how much emphasis they place on overall wellness, especially nutrition. The meals were thoughtfully prepared to promote healing, restore energy, and support both physical and mental recovery. It made a huge difference to know that what I was eating was part of my treatment and not just an afterthought.
The medical team was also incredibly attentive. They addressed my needs promptly and ensured I always felt safe and cared for. Having that level of professional support allowed me to focus fully on my recovery.

I checked into Hotel California sicker than I realized. My intention was to get through detox and the following 28 days, and that was going to be it. The program, facilities as well as the staff are top notch. I decided to extend my program by another 28 days as I still had more to grasp and they helped me through that process. What’s great is they have an Outpatient program which I am going to continue from home. They helped me get through the entire process and have set me up with a great foundation in sobriety to re enter my life. Bottom line, is if you need help getting sober and setting you up to stay sober, I recommend calling Hotel California.

I went to Hotel California By The Sea in late January of 2025. I had just dealt with a very dysfunctional attempt at another facility out of state and was so scared to try another but I needed help badly. I was drinking heavily to the point that if I didn't drink enough to start my day, I was violently Ill. I can say I truly felt I couldn't be helped. And so I called Hotel.
When I called they answered immediately and tried to get me in as soon as possible. Again, being my first stint in treatment I was terrified and nervous as all could be. But with my intake I knew immediately I was in great hands. The moment I said goodbye to my wife, I had no idea the real me would be coming back.
They monitored and aided every single step of my withdrawal process, making it as easy as they could. Accomodations were spectacular and the nurses and staff were so friendly. But then it came time for me to decide if I was going to stay with the treatment or just leave after detox.
There was absolutely ZERO pressure from the staff and help there, they just insisted I talk to my wife, who bless her soul convinced me I needed it. And so right then I let them know and they got me situated into a house with fellow patients to begin my healing journey. I stayed in the program they provide for 90 days. Everything with my work leave and payed leave Hotel took care of. They made it so that I didn't have to worry about the outside world, and that I could really focus on getting better.
I am now 8 months sober and awaiting my first child, all of which I never would have thought possible while I was in my drinking dilemma. The care and attentiveness of the staff and medical professionals at Hotel California was unbelievable. Not only did I better my health, they helped me better every aspect of my life. Making that call to Hotel California By The Sea is hands down the greatest decision I've ever made in my life.
Thank you Hotel....

Newport saved our daughter and set our family on a stable path to recovery.
Last fall we were losing our daughter to mental health challenges, PTSD and increasingly unsafe behaviors. It took 3 tries to get her to commit to Newport, but after the first few weeks of adjustment, she made more therapeutic progress with the team at Newport than in all of the other interventions we've tried to date (years of CBT therapy, DBT skills, and peer groups) .
We are now 3 months out from her discharge and we still have moments of stress but Newport put us back on the same team in terms of addressing challenges together and we have been super impressed with how our 15yo is using skills to navigate the tough moments.
We are extremely grateful to the Newport team for everything they did to get through to our child and earn her trust in their process.

Overall a great program that really has helped me get life together and focus on what’s important in my life and future. Since these changes there are no lines ever. People are happy going there, atmosphere inside and staff are very positive a complete 180 compared to pre COVID treatment. Highly Recommend

I was an athlete my whole life—earning multiple full-ride scholarship offers to play college basketball and football. I thrived as the starting quarterback at Glacier Peak High School and competed in a wide range of sports: MMA, black belts in karate and Tae Kwon Do, BMX biking, snowboarding, surfing, rock climbing, and more. But a string of serious injuries changed everything: I broke two vertebrae in my back playing football, tore my MCL and ACL playing basketball, broke my nose, and suffered many other major injuries.
My addiction began as a direct result of being overprescribed opioid pain medication for these injuries. Back then, opioid prescriptions were handed out far more freely and without the strict oversight we have today. I became one of many who unknowingly fell victim to that crisis.
After years of pain and physical setbacks, I also suffered a severe work injury as a marine machinist at the Port of Seattle shipyard—where I proudly served as a member of IAM Locals 76 and 79, District 160. I herniated two discs in my lower back, lost my mobility, and was forced to give up the physical lifestyle that defined me.
Evergreen Treatment Services changed my life. From the moment I started at their Seattle clinic through the support I received at the Renton clinic during difficult times, ETS has been nothing short of outstanding. Their professionalism is unmatched—efficient, kind, courteous, and deeply compassionate. Staff don’t just treat you—they truly care and go above and beyond to help. My counselor Jeff is wise, supportive, and positive, even on my darkest days. Every team member, from front desk to nurses and technicians, treats you with respect and dignity.
I’ve been a patient and receiver of M.A.T. Services (medication assisted treatment) for over 15 years. As a result of my addiction, I spent over 5 years incarcerated in prison and additional time in county jails, psych ward etc. I have tried countless programs - including Suboxone, the vivitrol shot, I've been to 10 treatment programs intensive inpatient, intensive outpatient, halfway house programs faith-based recovery programs including teen challenge and the Los Angeles dream Center Christian Boot camp discipleship program, NA, AA, CA, Celebrate Recovery, SMART recovery, Buddhist Recovery - but nothing compares to the stability and hope I’ve found through methadone treatment at ETS. Despite homelessness, serious health issues, and mental health challenges, I’ve never missed a dose or a day. Their unwavering support has been the foundation of my recovery and new life.
From me, my fiancé, my family, and friends—who are so happy to have their son, brother, nephew, grandson, friend etc back from the grip of fentanyl addiction - thank you, Evergreen Treatment Services, for all that you do for people like me. 🙏🏼
If you or someone you love is struggling with opioid addiction, ETS is the place to turn. They are true professionals and genuine lifesavers. Five stars don’t come close to expressing my gratitude—ETS is simply the best.

Been using there services for 15+ years. Today I call to get ahold of my Dr. I just needed his voicemail, after a 5-6 min. of being on neglect a receptionist answers, so I briefly told her my situation and need to get at the very least his voicemail. She sends me somewhere, it rings 2x and goes back to that music they make u suffer through as u wait being on neglect and after a 7 minutes of being on hold the phone disconnects! Angrily I try dialing them back up to where I got a pre-recorded message where it WON'T let me even leave a message.... VERY VERY IRRITATED!!!! NEED MED REFILL for over a week. Anyway that's my rant!
UPDATE
I'm not sure how but the Dr. I was trying to get in touch with, called me back!! It went from being irritating to shockingly great in a matter of 15 minutes.
Originally gave 2 stars, I had to go back and make it a 5 star! Above and beyond, great people, great service. I would highly recommend ETS. They have been nothing but great since my first day!!!

With medi | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Had a pretty debilitating I.V heroin addiction, found my breaking point and just wanted health. Called evergreen recovery and had a bed within 24 hours. They make the withdrawal process as comfortable as possible without actually using opioids. As far as success rates, well that depends on you. You get to sleep and eat all day until you have kicked the worst of the withdrawal process. Usually, you can be referred to an inpatient/outpatient treatment program as well, which from my experience is completely nessesary if you want to remain clean. If you are thinking about detoxing here, please just go for it. Don't think twice. Give it a shot. Get your freaking life back!

I was very grateful for the nurses and staff at evergreen detox. They were carrying, understanding, but most important they were non judgmental. I would not have made it through the dtox process without them. My room was clean and comfortable. I could not comment on the food because i didn't eat much. I can say they make sure thee is plenty healthy snacks and lots of gatorade to stay hydrated.. I was there a few years ago and unfortunately i need to go back, but at least there is a place to go to.

The staff is kind and have patience. Be good to them and they are even better to you. This is detox people, it's not the 4 seasons hotel. If u want it that way, then spend $ getting that kind of treatment or vote for more funding from the government to help the facilities that are trying to help addicts. They can only do so much with resources they have. Regardless....we're the addicts and no one to blame but ourselves and at least there are people out there trying to help us *which should be nothing more than appreciated! Thank you evergreen recovery <3
