Lakeside Milam Recovery Centers is located in Kirkland, Washington, and provides inpatient care to men and women living with an alcohol or drug dependency. Lakeside Milam Inpatient in Kirkland, WA has given me a second chance at rebuilding my life and laying a foundation for sustainable recovery. After a 10-year stretch of sobriety, I relapsed—quickly spiraling into a dark, painful place that lasted longer than I ever imagined. When I reached out for help again, LMRC admitted me within just a few hours and welcomed me straight into detox. During detox, patients are given the option to rest and regain strength or to begin joining group processing, lectures, and meals as soon as they are stable. Once detox is complete, the structure kicks in—every scheduled activity is required and punctuality is expected. That accountability, though challenging, sets the tone for living life with purpose and responsibility again. What makes LMRC stand out is the depth and passion of its programming. The lectures are engaging and evidence-based, providing proven strategies for confronting addiction and personal struggles. Patients and families are educated on brain function, the science of addiction, communication tools, and practical steps for recovery. Family workshops and lectures reinforce the idea that healing is a shared journey. The staff are another reason this place works. Many openly share their own recovery stories, modeling service and honesty—the cornerstones of active recovery. Compassion and accountability go hand in hand here; the team genuinely cares while also calling patients out when needed. The presence of doctors, ARNPs, psychologists, and nurses every day adds reassurance and professional oversight. The daily life at LMRC also helps patients reset. Structured routines, balanced meals (with a salad bar, soups, snacks, and coffee in the mornings), designated tech time, movies on weekends, and free time for assignments or connection with peers all create a balanced environment. It’s structured without being suffocating. Recovery is hard. It’s painful, emotional, and messy. But LMRC makes the path a little more manageable. They emphasize the fellowship of AA, CA, NA, and HA by offering in-house meetings with volunteers and trips to outside meetings several times a week. These opportunities remind us that addicts best help addicts, and alcoholics best help alcoholics. Every patient receives an individualized Tx plan, with assignments and goals tailored to their needs, and the support remains consistent through the ups and downs. More than just a program, LMRC fosters willingness over denial, growth over shame, and community over isolation. For anyone serious about breaking free from addiction, LMRC Inpatient in Kirkland is more than a treatment center—it’s a place where recovery begins or restarts, and can truly take root. Special shout-outs: •Maddy - your compassion and honesty are beautiful and you take your job seriously. It has been a pleasure talking with you. •Frank, Chuck and Jake - You guys keep us all safe and do the best job helping those of us who have trouble sleeping. •RT’s Kenzie, Nick 🎶, Caitlin H, Caitlin, Charissa, Carrie, Ryan, Brendan, Katie, Meaghan, Kollin, Luke, Ty, Jay, and Andrew - Thank you for your examples of genuine kindness and recovery!! •Dr. Rogers, Dr. Rose, Yadira, Jamarah, Marty, Steven, and Karen - Thank you for dealing with me and my meds while keeping it humorous. Thank you for listening, staying 100% ethical, and allowing me to be scared while never changing your efficiency! •Mary Kay, Renee, Holly, and Jessica - I will always be grateful for your empathy, grace, expertise, and hearing me when I needed it. Jessica, my heart broke that day, and there you were, just like you said you’d be. To have a “mom” hug while my mom isn’t available anymore, was comfort I didn’t know I needed. • ADRIENN and HANNAH - you two beautiful women both deserve 20 stars!! I’ll def miss you both greatly, and I know I’m privileged to know and love you both!! You’re amazing at your jobs, stand on your truths, and have really blessed my recovery and life by showing up every day, keeping it real, and standing in the gap for me! I wish you both the absolute best!

i was at newport for 55 days and it was quite possibly the scariest time of my life. i was struggling with ptsd, depression, SH and SI, and this place turned all of that around in less than 2 months. i know not everyone’s experience is the same and people are going to view residential treatments differently, but going here genuinely saved my life and my relationship with my parents. i’m almost an adult and have a job straight out of treatment, which wasn’t even a possibility where i was before going there. shoutout to the cc’s and my pod (pine) as well as the amazing chef, i miss him dearly and i hope he’s well. and of course the clinical team (counselor, individual therapist, family therapist). i do miss being there and it was a scary and anxiety-inducing but also incredibly helpful and healing chapter of my life.

Newport saved our daughter and set our family on a stable path to recovery. Last fall we were losing our daughter to mental health challenges, PTSD and increasingly unsafe behaviors. It took 3 tries to get her to commit to Newport, but after the first few weeks of adjustment, she made more therapeutic progress with the team at Newport than in all of the other interventions we've tried to date (years of CBT therapy, DBT skills, and peer groups) . We are now 3 months out from her discharge and we still have moments of stress but Newport put us back on the same team in terms of addressing challenges together and we have been super impressed with how our 15yo is using skills to navigate the tough moments. We are extremely grateful to the Newport team for everything they did to get through to our child and earn her trust in their process.

Had a pretty debilitating I.V heroin addiction, found my breaking point and just wanted health. Called evergreen recovery and had a bed within 24 hours. They make the withdrawal process as comfortable as possible without actually using opioids. As far as success rates, well that depends on you. You get to sleep and eat all day until you have kicked the worst of the withdrawal process. Usually, you can be referred to an inpatient/outpatient treatment program as well, which from my experience is completely nessesary if you want to remain clean. If you are thinking about detoxing here, please just go for it. Don't think twice. Give it a shot. Get your freaking life back!

I would not have made it through the dtox process without them. My room was clean and comfortable. I could not comment on the food because i didn't eat much. The staff is kind and have patience. Be good to them and they are even better to you. This is detox people, it's not the 4 seasons hotel. If u want it that way, then spend $ getting that kind of treatment or vote for more funding from the government to help the facilities that are trying to help addicts. They can only do so much with resources they have. Regardless....we're the addicts and no one to blame but ourselves and at least there are people out there trying to help us *which should be nothing more than appreciated! I was admitted to this facility in february of 2020. I was at rock bottom of my eating disorder, experiencing a paranoid psychotic break, and at the start of a global pandemic. I won’t lie, at first i really didn’t find it helpful. I wanted to leave, i didn’t like the program and i DEFINITELY hated the meal plan. As most people with eating disorders did (and do) in the program. As i started to become healthier, mentally more than physically, i really thrived here in this facility. My therapist and the staff who worked there at the time were the highlight of my day. I wouldn’t have been able to recover without Hannah Flemings incredible psychology skills, and the support of Aimee as a dietary tech/counselor. Chelsea always made me laugh and was an amazing person to be around. Rachel was always such a cool chick, and i loved the groups that all of the counselors ran. I truly believe that i would not be walking this earth anymore if it weren’t for the care and support that i received from Center for Discovery in Edmonds. I understand why there’s a lot of bad reviews here, mostly because it’s teenagers who received care from this facility who most likely didn’t want to get better or had bad experiences with some staff. But please don’t hesitate to send your children to this facility, they really do help people and i am a testimonial for that. I would give you guys 5 stars, but there is one staff member who still works there that left a really bad taste in my mouth. Kara was probably the absolute worst person to hire as a counselor. I don’t care if she was a social worker and has experience, she should never work in an eating disorder clinic. When i was there, she caused a client to sit out of a group and start crying because she had us do stretches and exercises that went beyond our movement level (which is dangerous, because we’re supposed to always have our head above our heart for cardiac safety). She was very pushy with me when i showed signs of anxiety, challenging me to stop stimming when it was my way of self soothing in a scary environment. When i expressed my dislike towards her, all of the clients agreed with me and felt the same. Even when i had another stay in the Bellevue adult facility, none of the clients there liked her either (and that was in 2022). Otherwise, everyone there is doing an amazing job at providing comfort and care to the clients, at least in 2020 when i was there.

i’m not sure if she still works with sound health but jessica was a wonderful psychologist for me. living in seattle was hell and weekly appointments with her made it bearable. although the northgate building is in a rough area, Jessica and staff alike created a home-like environment for me and i was able to rely on it heavily. even a year + later the warmth and kindness shown to me by jessica, kate, and carly ruminate in my mind like a safety blanket. dr.pascoe was lovely as well. weekly dbt and relationship group meetings including other like minded teens provided me with a sense of belonging and family. with an abusive home life and challenging school environment, the group therapy i attended was the loving community i needed. i still have the therapy worksheets as memories and references from our sessions together. i think about them often and hope their doing well. the impact they’ve had on me is immeasurable, and for that i’m truly so grateful. i miss them dearly, as they were a resource for me when i was desperate for an outlet. someday i hope to provide someone with the same compassion and support that was given to me. the gratitude i hold for them is infinite, i wouldn’t be where i am today without them. ❤️🥹

Great outpatient treatment. Resource coordinator Rosemary knows about hidden resources and genuinely cares. J Tye is a fantastic counselor. The curriculum has new videos and info unlike out dated places that use old treatment videos from the 80s

I was there back in 2013, have never been so sick in my life. I was at the time, slowly dying of a severe oral infection. The doctor reminded the staff that I am a nurse. They were very respectful and did their best to help. Thankfully, my family helped pay the cost of the surgery (at the time, no insurance). Happily I recovered and am again working as a nurse. I’ll never forget the self respect I gained from it. I’m now volunteering at a free clinic in the city I now live in. Thank you!

I was very grateful for the nurses and staff at evergreen detox. They were carrying, understanding, but most important they were non judgmental. I would not have made it through the dtox process without them. My room was clean and comfortable. I could not comment on the food because i didn't eat much. I can say they make sure thee is plenty healthy snacks and lots of gatorade to stay hydrated.. I was there a few years ago and unfortunately i need to go back, but at least there is a place to go to.

Thank you evergreen recovery <3

I did want to risk feeling like I might ask her to buy any of her meds so I got into the program. Every was was really great to me. After Cathy pass I rolled off the wagon. They helped me back on. Any and every problem I had they worked w me. I can't say enough good things about the MAT program.
