Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab provides intensive treatment for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient care reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training.

Treatments

Alcoholism, or alcohol use disorder (AUD), is defined by alcohol dependence. This is a state the body reaches when it experiences withdrawal symptoms in the absence of alcohol. A person who has AUD craves alcohol and continues to drink despite adverse consequences. Because withdrawing from alcohol can pose health risks, individuals with AUD should seek professional alcohol rehab in California to overcome their alcohol addiction. This process typically involves medical detox, rehabilitation, and maintenance.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

In California, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs offer comprehensive care for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Programs include medically assisted detox, intensive outpatient, outpatient, residential rehab, and partial hospitalization. Using an evidence-based approach, clinicians utilize therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavioral therapy and mindfulness to address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges. Additional services include 12-Step recovery, group therapy, family counseling, and relapse prevention to promote sustained recovery.

In California, substance abuse treatment programs can help individuals with any type of substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. These rehab programs typically encompass various levels of care, including medically assisted detox, intensive outpatient, outpatient, residential rehab, and partial hospitalization. You can expect clinicians to utilize evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness to help you achieve and sustain your recovery. The rehab's clinical team can provide a comprehensive assessment to determine the appropriate level of care and medical support you may need.

Programs

Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program for women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

Family therapy offers a platform for members to have an open dialogue about the challenges that addiction has placed on the family unit. Through guided sessions, therapists can help families develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues. By working together toward a common goal, they help to support their loved one's sobriety.

The experience I had at Breakaway Health left a lasting impression on me. When I arrived at their program in May, I had already sought treatment at three other facilities in the previous two weeks. However, upon spending just a few days at Breakaway, I felt a strong conviction that this was the place for me. The exceptional staff members not only provided top-notch treatment but also went the extra mile to assist with other facets of life such as obtaining food stamps, resolving legal issues, and finding employment. Their support in managing life's challenges allowed me to focus entirely on my recovery. At Breakaway, I didn't feel like just another client; instead, I was embraced as part of a family. The staff's genuine care and concern for their clients was palpable. I want to extend special gratitude to Melissa, my case manager, and Nester, my therapist. Every step of progress I made can be attributed to these two incredible individuals. It's difficult to fully capture all the exceptional qualities of both the facility and the staff in just a few words, but I wholeheartedly recommend Breakaway Health to anyone ready to overcome addiction or mental health challenges. Thanks to Breakaway Health, I am confident that I will achieve success and embrace a brighter future.

I can’t express enough how grateful I am for the experience I had at Breakaway. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms and a sense of compassion that immediately made me feel safe and supported. Helen and Aspen are truly incredible—everyone from the counselors to the medical team is dedicated, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in your recovery. The programs they offer are top-notch, blending evidence-based treatments with holistic approaches that address the mind, body, and soul. The personalized care plan I received helped me confront the root causes of my addiction while equipping me with practical tools for lasting sobriety. Group therapy sessions were transformative, offering a sense of community and shared understanding that made the journey feel less isolating. The facilities themselves are comfortable, clean, and designed to create an environment of healing and reflection. The aftercare support has been just as crucial, providing continued guidance and connection even after I completed the program. Thanks to Breakaway, I’ve regained control of my life, rebuilt relationships, and rediscovered a sense of purpose. I wholeheartedly recommend this center to anyone struggling with addiction—it’s a place of real hope and change.
