I like the Rosecrance program a lot but I LOVE Dominique and Steve. They balance compassion and support with an expectation of responsibility and accountability which is making my recovery successful. This is the first program that makes me feel like i want to and CAN stay sober for the long haul

The outpatient program at Rosecrance has been invaluable to my recovery. Dominique demonstrates an authentic commitment to helping me, and others in the group, maintain our sobriety. Whether it is through therapeutic programming, providing resources to enable our recovery, or just simply by helping navigate confusing financial aid forms, she is all in and wants to see her clients succeed. When Steve has had to fill in, on days Dominique was not here, he did the same. They both really just seem to care…but also hold you accountable if you are not helping yourself. The culture of this program has allowed me the opportunity to really get to know other clients in this programs as well. The friendships I have developed here will stay in my heart forever.

If you are a parent reading this, I know how hard it can be when your child struggles with anxiety or depression or any mental health issues. Looking into a PHP or IOP program is never on a parent’s expected list of experiences they think they will have with their child. However, I truly have so much gratitude for all they did for my daughter, and the support they also provided to me during family therapy. I felt like I had a village helping me through a difficult time. She’s thriving now, and the tools they taught her will stay with her a lifetime. Trust the process, and trust Compass.

The outpatient trauma & PTSD program has been a lifesaver for me. The entire team led by Dr. Natalie Gela is incredibly skilled, compassionate, and deeply committed to the healing process. They create an environment where it’s possible to be vulnerable, make progress, and feel genuinely cared for. The combination of group therapy structure, individualized attention, and evidence-based approaches made all the difference for me. I’ve learned tools I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life, and I'll be leaving with more hope and strength than I ever thought possible. I'm profoundly grateful for the kindness, professionalism, and dedication of everyone here. If you are struggling and looking for real support, this program is truly exceptional. Natalie & team, thank you for saving my life.

Composes, incredible! Our son was really having a hard time with school refusal and kept wiping out in classes because he’s on the spectrum. When things got really bad this year we pulled him out and sent him to compass where he learned a lot of skills to calm down. He learned to cognitive behavioral therapy and a couple of different techniques similar to that which he now carries around in a binder. We were also able to use compass to transition to another school, and the team was just incredible. They went above and beyond… Not just helping him learn the skills but frankly, they were very genuinely fond of him. He’s going to miss them a lot, and this is his first week out of the program… He keeps talking about how proud of him they were when he graduated! I cannot recommend them enough.

Im on day 5 of a jury trial. I've been a patient for 4 years. I went from 16mg down to 1mg. I haven't touched an opiate since Dec of 2021. Today, God forbid, I come in on a schefuled appointment, a day early, on a month prescription. Why? Because I happened to run out 24 hours early due to difficulties weening off subs. Something that a doctor would likely expect and appreciate. Alexis, Im sorry I didn't just hold out til Friday. I didn't want to be in full blown withdrawals during a pivotal moment in my career. Shame on me. Next month, instead of giving you full disclosure i'll tell you a fairytale. That must be so much more productive. Do you think I disclose the truth because I'm an idiot? No, it's because I actually trust professionals. You breached it. I don't want special treatment. However, if you're going to play a petty game, have the guts to say it to my face. I can't come tomorrow morning and show you my half strip. That doesn't mean I'm selling the sub strips or some other ridiculous concern. I have children who need to get to school and/or a babysitter and then I need to be in court for a trial. I can come Saturday. Hopefully that's ok with you doc. Pretty please. Lsstly, I left 5 stars because no one else had ever done this to me without saying it to my face first. I owe Symetria a lot, especially Rachel. I will remove this Saturday night. My point is Alexis, say it to the patient's face. 16mg down to 1mg and you make me feel like a criminal? Its comical. Its not like I just showed up. I rescheduled. Its called discretion. Use it.

I came here for the Adult IOP program after a recent stay at inpatient unit at a different hospital. I cannot say enough about how well this program is run and the people who run it. Dee and Cory are amazing at what they do . They have that perfect balance of understanding your thoughts and challenging your thoughts . Everyone is able to speak as much or as little as they want. The program is well structured and you can expect the same and clear expectations daily. A variety of activities and discussion groups from daily check ins to music and art therapy. Strongly reccommend this program if needed.

I was a patient in 2-South recently. The condition that landed me in NCHBHC isn't the usual (it's an endocrine disorder with marked psych symptoms), but thankfully the teams of nurses, docs, caseworkers, and BHAs at NCH not only took me at my word when I explained what was going on, but actively asked insightful, curious questions to gain a better understanding of my condition and how best to help me get back on my feet. They were also phenomenal allies, and because of their conscientiousness and willingness to listen, I felt safe as a nonbinary patient. Thank you Dr Okoli, Dr Ghani, the entire glorious nursing team, Jen, and the fantastic BHA team. Y'all worked in tandem with my outside team of docs and helped me get back on my feet when I was too exhausted to keep up by myself. Special thanks to Alma, Jen, Donte, John, Emma, Aleksandra, and Syed, who sat with me during difficult moments and made me feel seen and cared-for as myself, not just as a patient. Endeavor, you'd do well to give every single employee there a solid raise (they've seriously earned it), and perhaps consider hiring a few more folks. I was surprised to see some faces back so quickly after they'd already put in a full shift. Your teams need rest and recovery time, too, especially teams so attentively patient-focused as this one. As far as the facility goes, it's an inpatient mental health hospital. You're rarely the only patient on the ward, and you definitely shouldn't expect to be waited on hand and foot if you're otherwise able-bodied and of sound(ish) mind. You don't get to have your phone or electronics, no drawstrings, no belts, no hoodies-- it can feel isolating, but it's standard protocol for these sorts of places for good reason. This is not a penthouse suite at the Ritz-Carlton-- it is a hospital where you *will* be working alongside your doc team and other patients to heal and adapt. Adjust your expectations accordingly. Some rooms are singles, and some rooms are doubles. All the floors are clean, beds are comfy, blankets are hospital standard (you can ask for an extra if you're cold, and room temps can be adjusted individually), and the nurse and BHA teams check in every fifteen minutes, day and night. Leaving your door half-open helps mitigate the change in light levels when they check in if that disrupts your sleep, and the nurses can give melatonin to help with getting *to* sleep. Showers are on a sign-up basis in morning and evening, and while the spigots kind of have an awkward spray, the water is warm and the shampoo smells good. The food is palatable to enjoyable (with the sole exception of the chicken parm, which is... well, it's *only* describable as edible-- best avoid that one), the papers come in daily so there are always crosswords, the TV gets regular channels as well as Freeform and Netflix, and coloring pages and word searches can be requested. They keep you busy with six to seven group sessions a day-- it can be exhausting to attend, and some folks find the topics 'cringey', but believe me, it's stuff that can really help, especially if you're honest with yourself and your docs about what you're dealing with. Overall, I would recommend NCH Behavioural Health 2-South to any adult in crisis as a safe, warm, helpful place to heal and find your footing again.

I really want to take the time to extend the utmost thanks to my care team at Saint Francis Hospital. I wish I could remember my physician’s name but her and the team that worked alongside her, Cole and Alexandra? (I’m so sorry to forget or butcher names) gave the best care a patient could receive. I had a horrible panic attack after having a good day and they reassured me, listened to me and advocated for me. As a Black woman, that’s not always something I have had the privilege to experience consistently in my healthcare journey. I want to thank each one of you so much for your professionalism, encouragement, and most importantly the passion that anyone can see rooted in all 3 of you being healthcare workers. If there is any way that all three of them could please receive recognition beyond verbal gratitude, I would extremely appreciate Saint Francis Hospital executing that. I cannot stress enough how cared for I felt today and how all three of you gave me so much hope that I’m tearing up again writing this message. May God bless all three of you who took care of me! Thank you thank you!

I was just at the lab for a blood test that my mom had to get done. Every patient had a number that were called IN ORDER, we waited for almost an hour and a half, my mom was #30 and there was a lady and her husband that were #32. Every 2 minutes the lady was saying ‘3 hrs later and still waiting’ when the nurse behind the desk called #31 the lady #32 stood up and went to sit infront of the desk and the nurse asked if she was #31, the lady said that she was #32 and the nurse said that she was calling number #31. The nurse wasn’t rude at all, lady #32 stood up and went to the nurse and yelled at the nurse that she was rude to her just because she called #31. In sharing this because I know that patients specially elder people exaggerate things. My respect to nurses they have to deal with kind of people.

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. Please note that the hospital has been under construction for the past year and is still undergoing construction, renovation, and expansion of the ER area. As a result, there may be some discomfort when trying to secure a room if you are admitted. Be patient and considerate during this time. The staff is doing everything possible to make your stay as comfortable as they can, given their resources and availability. Please remember that this is a hospital, not a 5-star hotel, so I encourage everyone to be considerate and not overly demanding. I recently had the privilege of being treated at Lake Forest Hospital, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, Doctors, nurses, and technicians demonstrated an incredible level of professionalism and genuine care that immediately put me at ease. Throughout my time in the hospital, Doctors took the time to explain every step of my treatment plan in detail, ensuring that I understood what to expect and answering all my questions with patience and kindness. The NM Lake Forest Hospital team's dedication to my recovery was inspiring and helpful during my stay. So, thank you for everything you do!

North Shore Health Center has helped me in so many ways they’re always there if I have a question need a refill or talk to the doctor for any reason I wish they had more hours. I’ve been seeing Dr. Al-Bana for about eight years now and she’s been terrific. I highly recommend dr. Al-Bana and all the physicians at Lake County health department.

Peer Services was truly a life saver for my family member. He had struggled with addiction for many years, in and out of various treatment programs. Peer Service's compassionate staff treated him with dignity and provided the exact care that he needed. He is now five years sober and lives a happy and full life. Thank you Peer Services!

Many years ago, when my fabulous son was 17, he was a limit-pusher. He limit-pushed over his head, and over my head as a parent. We went to PEER Services, together, and met the most extraordinary person. From the first moment, the counselor taught us that by treating my son with respect, as a person who was not a boy, but was an adult in the making, he (and I as a dad) could see gain back control and make good decisions. He met with this counselor for two months, discussed the stuff of high school, athletics, alcohol, and other things young adults were asked to make decisions about - and he became, over time, the adult he is today - the founder of a non profit organization working with youth at risk. I cannot begin to thank PEER enough for the path this wonderful person laid out for my son and for me. It is a wonderful, helpful, logical, and compassionate place when you're not sure how to get out of being over your head.

The ARC is one of those rare places that feels like it was carved out of the chaos of the world and built for the sole purpose of giving people a fighting chance. You walk in and there is this unmistakable feeling of steadiness, like the walls themselves have seen storms and stayed standing so others could find shelter. The energy is honest. No masks. No performative nonsense. Just people doing real work, telling real stories, and showing up for one another with a kind of grit and loyalty you cannot manufacture. Meetings run with the kind of clarity and calm you only get when the room is anchored by people who have survived a hundred different versions of hell and decided to turn that into something useful. Wisdom flies around casually, like it is no big deal, even though half the lines you hear could be tattooed on someone’s ribs and still hold meaning twenty years later. The volunteers and long-timers move with purpose. They make coffee like it is a sacrament, set up chairs like they are preparing a sacred arena, and greet newcomers with a mix of warmth and keep-it-real that instantly cuts through fear. You do not feel judged. You feel seen. Big difference. And the atmosphere? It has soul. Not the fluffy inspirational-poster kind. The lived-in, scarred-up, hard-earned soul that comes from countless nights where someone found the strength to stay alive because a chair was waiting for them and a voice said, “Sit down, you're not alone.” The Antioch Recovery Club is not fancy. It is not trying to be. It is solid. It is consistent. It is there when people need it most. That reliability, that history of people holding each other up, is priceless. If hope had a clubhouse, it would look a whole lot like this. If resilience had a mailing address, it would be in Antioch, and the door would probably already be open with the coffee brewing. The Antioch Recovery Club is community at its most raw, most human, and most necessary.

My therapist was fantastic and helped me quite a bit. Unfortunately she only took Medicaid so I had to switch once I started Medicare. My current therapist is great, mind you. I just had seen the previous therapist for years and that built a lot of trust that is hard to come by. I feel like the office staff is really on top of things and always called me when there was an issue. Good place in my opinion.

Started out with Nyles, very nice but due to some of my issues it was hard to talk to him. Then started seeing Kris, and still see her. Really like her, feel more relaxed talking about my issues. Doing much better with my depression, not as bad. Anxiety is still an issue we're working on. Been seeing Kris Jerry for 3 years. Come June 1,2023, will be my last time seeing her as she is moving on to doing counseling at her own place in IL.,. June 8th, I will be going back to seeing Nyles again. Cindy
