I've been seeing my therapist for years. I work until 5pm Monday-Friday, with an hour lunch break. I do not get that much PTO. I've been doing appointments at 5pm or after for a long time and suddenly my therapist tells me after our last visit that she has no appointments at/after 5pm for the rest of the year...I feel although I was completely forgotten about, even though I've been going for years to the same person. Why did no one reach out to me about the availability situation? The only other times available were 830am, which is when I start work and then 2:30, right when I get back from lunch roughly. I don't understand how I was so overlooked. I am so stressed out and anxious about having to find someone new, who I like, who also accepts my insurance. It takes me a very long time to feel comfortable or open up to anyone, and now I have to start the process all over. This is so unexpected and it hurts so much.

Hello Jennifer. I’m so sorry you’re feeling forgotten about. I’m sure your therapist will do all she can to help you with this situation. There are many variables that come into play when scheduling appointments. The therapist you’ve been seeing has indicated that she will contact you and work diligently to help you with this. She is definitely committed to helping you with this difficult situation.
