About Recovery Management Services Crossroads – Closed

Recovery Management Services Crossroads was a nonprofit inpatient and outpatient facility in Concord, California that offered comprehensive treatment for adults struggling with substance use disorders. They’re closed now, but the facility operated under a 12 step philosophy that provided structured and social model programs. The center accepted self pay and some insurance.

Levels of Residential Care

The facility offered residential treatment with round the clock care. They had short term care that spanned between 30-90 days and long term care for up to six months.

Their inpatient programs featured medical detoxification for alcohol, opioids and methamphetamines. They provided individual, group and family counseling as well as relapse prevention training. Their treatment modalities included the Matrix Model, cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.

Different Programs

I like that their outpatient programs included evening sessions so that you were able to still attend work or school while receiving care. Their working person’s program supported employed clients with residential treatment. The clean and sober residences provided transitional sober living for alumni.

Specialized services included gender specific programs for men and women to address the unique recovery needs that each gender experiences. Their aftercare offered sober living arrangements, career counseling and connections to Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Clients valued the structured environment. Others criticized limited dual diagnosis resources and staff experience as well as high costs.

Fun For All

What stood out to me about the location was all the fun and family friendly activities nearby. Pixieland Amusement Park is great for kids as it has rides and games. The Jungle Concord has climbing structures, tunnels and arcade games for endless entertainment.

There is also a seasonal splash park nearby. The Waterworld California is great for fun during the summer and also has thrilling water slides.

Landmark Collection Services took my rights to a small claims judgment by requiring me to assign my rights to the claim to them, so they can collect the judgment on my behalf. Thereafter, they ceased all communication with me. For the past 10 months they have been unresponsive and not answering calls, email, text messages, etc. I suspect that they may have collected the judgment already and will not be honoring the terms of the contract that was signed with them!

Very Bad Client experience, Landmark could not collect a dime in my case, after 3 yrs., and a multi million dollar judgment They have seemed to be financially outsmarted by a 20-something "Tech. Bro.", who: used an alias, declared bankruptcy, moved assets, and flagrantly used (and is currently using) a shell Co. to evade the judgment, POST DECLARING BANKRUPTCY. For the follow up depo, ( after the judgement) Landmark then decided to bring in an OUTSIDE lawyer, who was totally unprepared & started sympathizing w/ My debtor. It seemed like Landmark used my case as a practice run to go through the motions, why else would they bring in an outside lawyer? IMO, the Partner at Landmark has decided to no longer pursue it, bc his employees wont take or return my msgs. They know the debtor is using a shell co., they proved it, but now they refuse to do anything after nearly a year, so now I have to contact the Bankruptcy Trustee myself, bc Landmark refuses to take my calls or return msgs.

IGNORE BAD REVIEWS those are probably from people who have been contacted to PAY debts. If you need a debt collection agency, Ricky is your guy. I had a decent sum owed to me from a personal injury lawsuit, the injury caused severe emotional and physical distress and LCS worked HARD over the course of a couple years to get me my money. The fee they charge is worth it, if you are collecting a judgement on your own, it is extremely difficult to get it enforced and I had given up on seeing a penny from this whole thing long before I contacted them. The guy that owed me even tried to dodge it a couple times and they kept after if, literally years of follow up have gone into this. I sincerely appreciate these guys, I highly recommend them! And yes, they are even compassionate. A+ guys! Gillian

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.
