About Renew Counseling Center
Renew Counseling Center at SNU is located on 42nd Street in Bethany, Oklahoma. They provide behavioral health counseling to address and treat co-occurring mental health issues and substance use disorder.
They are located in a modern multi-tenant building with onsite parking for you and your loved ones. Located on the campus of Southern Nazarene University, they are close to campus facilities, restaurants, and local businesses. They are also close to natural landmarks including Lake Overholser, Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge and Overholser Park. They are also close to the Wiley Post Airport-PWA.
BHS Counseling and Group Therapy
They focus on providing behavioral health counseling services to the public and the surrounding community. I find it good to know that they offer individual, one-on-one counseling and group therapy sessions.
SNU students and faculty receive free and discounted treatment at Renew with faculty receiving a free consultation and undergraduate students receiving free group sessions and their first five sessions for free.
Clinical Training Programs for SNU Students
I love that they also offer in-house clinical training at Renew. They are the main clinical training facility for SNU graduate students studying counseling psychology. They offer one year of training for second year students at the facility as well as an internship program for third year students. They provide monthly CEU training programs, certification programs and play therapy programs for clinicians in the community.

Levels of Care
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
Treatments
Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
Clinical Services
In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
