About STEPS
STEPS offers a myriad of addiction treatment services that include mental health assessments, inpatient residential treatment, day treatment, intensive outpatient, counseling, and case management.
Mental Health Assessment and Counseling
Assessments help clinicians to evaluate participants’ mental health for substance use disorder, the severity, and any co-occurring conditions, in order to create an individualized treatment plan. Therapeutic services may include individual, group, and family counseling, in addition to other relevant social supports.
Residential Substance Use Disorder Treatment
STEPS residential addiction treatment program is for adult women over 18 and priority is given to women with children and those using drugs intravenously.
The structured treatment program includes an assessment and individualized treatment plan, individual, family, and group counseling, psychoeducation, skills groups, recovery meetings, and case management. Participants learn valuable skills such as relapse prevention strategies, anger management, coping skills, and decision-making skills.
Day Treatment Program
There are several day treatment programs available at STEPS, reflecting various levels of care. Participants may attend one to five sessions per week for approximately three months. An individual assessment will help to determine the most appropriate treatment plan. Services may include individual, group, and family counseling, educational groups, case management, and recovery support meetings.
Case Management
Case managers working with individuals receiving addiction treatment to facilitate referrals, coordinate services, and navigate various social services and systems throughout the treatment process and after discharge.

Horrible place to go to for a drug evaluation because they literally decide you have to go to 12 weeks of meetings before you even get there. My case worker only chose steps because of this reason. I’m asking the judge to send me somewhere else for my court order substance abuse evaluation.

Beware if u are court ordered for evaluation DO NOT GOTO S.T.E.P.S. they determine your fate before you arrive.. they use your charge against.. they never not once evaluated anything i was going to 12 weeks of classes before they even spoke to me

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. Levels of Care
The Adult Outpatient Programs (Orange, Brevard and Seminole Counties) provide evidence-based substance abuse counseling and educational services to adults. This includes a specialized group for pregnant and post-partum women. Referrals are accepted from various sources including the Florida Department of Corrections, county probation, the Florida Safety Council, pain clinics, Community Based Care (CBC), Family Intervention Services (FIS), Devereux, Children’s Home Society and self-referrals.
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
The Women’s Residential Program (All Counties) is a level II and level IV therapeutic community that utilizes evidenced-based practices designed for adult women who suffer from substance abuse and co-occurring disorders with priority admission given to indigent, pregnant and post-partum women. In cases where a client has an infant or gives birth while in the program, the child can live with the mother while she receives treatment.
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
Treatments
The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.
