Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

The goal of drug rehab in Arkansas is to help individuals stop using addictive substances and learn healthy ways to remain clean long-term. Participants learn vital skills to cope with cravings and manage stress, to prevent relapse.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

I have only had one other appointment (intake with Chenal Family Therapy. I was looking forward to working with my new therapist. I looked forward to working with her for an entire month and was very interested in having weekly sessions and making real progress. I had a virtual therapy session scheduled for 3:00 yesterday (1/13/2026). I was having trouble navigating their portal system. It was also very difficult the first session and was finally able to get through but just a couple of minutes late. My second session I showed up on time to my virtual appointment but was having great difficulty getting through. I called to ask for assistance. I spoke to 4 different people to help me navigate it and to start my appointment. I asked to reach out to my therapist but I have no access of contacting her. I was promised she would reach out to reschedule with me but have yet to hear from her. They then charged me for the missed therapy appointment of $150. It didn't matter that I requested/required assistance navigating the portal. It didn't matter that I spoke to 4 different staff member on the phone. This is a them problem in making communication and compassion impossible. 0 out of 10 do not recommend. If you go through and read the rest of the of the reviews their incompetency speaks for itself. I left 1 star which I feel was awfully generous. I also will be reporting them to the better business bureau. Where as I do agree that there are capable and compassionate therapists and clinicians that work there, the lack of communication is so pathetic it would be hard to come back from even when they remove the ridiculous charges. I showed up. I called for assistance. Right now is find out season for a lot of folks- that doesn't exclude them from being on the receiving end of their self made nonsense of a mess. Get it together, fix your communication issues, and pay your therapists for your own mishaps. You. ARE. The. Problem.

BE WARNED: This so-called "mental health" clinic SUES its patients. This clinic has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a healthcare provider, and I feel it's important to warn others. They are currently suing me over a $329 balance, which was almost entirely made up of "missed appointment fees." The only appointment I missed was because I was violently ill--I was literally projectile vomiting for hours and physically couldn't cancel until after the appointment time. I explained this to them, thinking they would show understanding and compassion, especially since they are a mental health clinic. Instead, they refused to waive the fee and insisted on charging me anyway. It didn't stop there. Instead of working with me on a reasonable payment plan or even sending multiple reminders, they handed my account off to a debt collection company. That debt collector never reached out to me directly--not a single phone call or letter--before they sent a process server to my family's home. Imagine the embarrassment and stress of having a process server show up over a therapy bill. Now, the original $329 balance has doubled with their lawyer fees, and I am literally being sued. On top of that, the quality of care was unreliable. My providers often didn't even enter my telehealth sessions at the scheduled time. I was left waiting 10+ minutes more than once, which shows how little they respect their patients' time. Yet they have no problem charging extreme fees if you can't attend perfectly, even when you're too sick to move. This is how this clinic treats people who come to them for help with their mental health. Instead of compassion, understanding, and reasonable solutions, they add financial and legal stress on top of the struggles their patients are already facing. A clinic that claims to care about mental health should never operate this way. Please think carefully before trusting them with your care.

This clinic claims to support mental health — but for me, they made things worse. As a full-time working mother doing my best to care for my son, I was shocked by how cold and rigid their process was. Their policy dismisses children from care after three missed appointments, regardless of circumstances — even when those missed visits were due in part to their inconsistent or completely missing reminder system. Some weeks, I didn’t receive any reminders at all. And when you’re juggling parenting, work, and mental exhaustion, a single text isn’t enough — especially not for a child’s critical care. I voiced these concerns multiple times and was ignored. Instead of compassion, I got bureaucracy. Instead of support, I was told, “You had your three chances.” Just like that — no care, no grace, no continuity. If you’re already dealing with anxiety, burnout, or the weight of parenting a child who needs help — please know this: this place will not ease your load. It may actually push you deeper into stress, frustration, and mental overload. Mental health providers should never make their patients feel punished for struggling.
