About Good Samaritan Hospital

This facility offers a detox program that incorporates medical, clinical, and spiritual care. While here, the medical treatment plan helps to identify any predisposed medical and psychiatric issues that may be contributing to your substance use disorder. They’ll also educate you about your disease and go over your choices for treatment.

While going through detox, you may use medication assisted therapy. This evidence-proven medicine can help make you more comfortable while going through the withdrawal symptoms of detox. You will be monitored by a medical team during your entire detox.

After detox, you’ll then be treated by your team with your own individualized treatment plan. You’ll have ongoing treatment of physical and psychological issues that may be contributing to your substance use.

The hospitalist was not knowledgeable about medications and would not allow me to speak with other specialty team members. Additionally, I only saw the Dr twice. I dialed in my husband to include him in the conversation as it was going poorly and he not only hung up on him but then he threw my phone as me while I was laying in my hospital bed crying.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

For many different stages and therapies offered during addiction treatment, it's essential to offer 24-hour clinical care in New York. often involves medication treatment for drug or alcohol detox. The withdrawal symptoms experienced during detox can be dangerous, but having medical experts on-site around the clock means someone is always there to step in and provide emergency medical care when and if it is ever needed.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you choose drug rehab in New York, you'll participate in a variety of treatments that are designed to help you live a drug-free lifestyle. Common methods of treatment include group, individual, and family counseling, medication management, nutrition, exercise, and management of co-occurring mental health disorders.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Not a good hospital, the ER service is the slowest, it took them forever to take me in and to help me. PLEASE UNDERSTAND that when someone shows up at the ER is because they need ASAP care! You really need to start caring more about the people that go to you for help.

This is the worst hospital in Medical Center history. Personally I wouldn't recommend this hospital for any care. First, the emergency department had me waiting for nearly four 🕓 hours before a doctor came to evaluate me, FYI I came into the ED from the EMT. Secondly, the nurses here are RUDE, TASTELESS, INCONSIDERATE, lack experience and poor bedside acumen. The Care partners are RUDE and have zero compassion for its patients it's scary. I've never in my years of living in NYS witness such a horrible hospital I'm surprised they're still in operation. My recommendation is if the opportunity call for hospitalization visit a medical center that's going to provide EXCELLENT service within a great healing environment. This hospital is NO GOOD.

Went to emergency and was there for 12 hours! A large portion of that time was spent waiting for radiology to send the test results. The wait time was so bad, the director of the hospital got involved. The sad thing is, the nursing and support staff is so nice and caring. There was also a ROACH in my emergency room! Again, this review would warrant a 1 star if not for the nursing staff. The owners of this hospital should really do something about how it is run and get an exterminator.

Response from the owner

Lack of urgency in ER department. They wont attend someone if they’re unable to provide I.D or unable to speak REGARDLESS of the patients dire situation. From the front desk, evaluation room to the emergency department, theres no rush. At Nyack I've seen they take patients in first, than ask questions later.
