I am truly grateful to ray rapaglia and the James club. I was in a dreadful cycle of homelessness and incarceration. I had very little family support as my mother has Alzheimer’s and is in a home…. On my third visit to broward county jail I was facing 6 years… I had no money or friends to help me pay for a deposit at a halfway house and I called ray after he came and spoke at the substance abuse program in jail… I didn’t expect much but I had a court date coming up. Ray spoke at the hearing and to my surprise he said he had a bed opening in a few days… he helped me with a BSO reentry scholarship and within a week i was out and I had a job doing exterior maintenance with my roommate at the James club who was kind enough to offer me work… i was able to save money, attend aa meetings and eventually become a part of my mothers life again… visiting her a few times a week and being there for her… I have made a new family at James club… I have been to a few other hallways in broward and have been active in AA so I have visited many more and none of them has the structure and leadership and comraderie of the James club… if you haven’t had the pleasure ray is an amazing speaker, has an amazing message and backstory and truly lives out the principles he lays out.. he fills a niche and purpose that most other halfways do not… he truly reaches a hand out to the most down and out and lifts them up….

Exceptional place. My life was in shambles and the people and experiences at the James Club established by Ray Rapaglia built a foundation with which I have been able to prosper. I have continuous sobriety thanks to the guidance and support provided by the 7 S’s and the staff at James Club Recovery & Treatment. They have a beautiful office, great work out/gym areas, conference rooms available to the community and clean, comfortable housing. Thank you!
