They want to help, and they definitely did. The reviews talking about “only an hour a day in the pool,” or the “gym isn’t good enough,” if that’s what you’re taking away with you in your recovery, then good luck. We had groups every day of the week, which is a necessary part in our recovery. They had activities for us every night, so we could build connections while having fun. The pool and the gym were extra gifts when we had the opportunity to use them. I would have loved it without. If you’re considering taking the steps to recovery, 100% recommend. Almost all staff there when I was there to rehabilitate, was thoughtful and had their hearts in the right place. The program directors, support councilors, and all other staff members on campus made sure almost daily to check up on the youth, and building solid foundations of trust needed to have consistent progress in therapy both in session and internal. There were opportunities to further your education and if you could show responsibility and determination to better yourself, your given opportunity’s to learn more hands on life skills, like painting or how to properly write a resume and apply for a Job. While from the perspective of being rehabilitated, things can seem negative and hopeless at times. When I was there I didn’t share an positive outlook, but after deeply analyzing my experience In hindsight, this was the safest and most caring place to learn necessary coping skills to stay recovered. Anyone who is reading this I just want to say something that I hope the right people hear....there is nothing easy about getting clean or staying clean. But there is also nothing easy about staying high. It is possible to live again after addiction. But no one can be forced into it. They have to be ready. At their ropes end so to speak...emotionally, financially, physically what ever the case it has to be their choice. Someone who is not an addict cant tell an addict what they need to do and how they should just stop. That would be like telling someone not on drugs to stop breathing. I know anyone who has never been there and is reading this is thinking that I am a moron, and well maybe but I am a CLEAN moron. 75 days today. I am a great father again and a great husband, son, brother, uncle, friend and I AM ALIVE for the first time in many years. So please to the parents with an addict for a child, or a spouse with a husband or wife that has an addiction or a best friend....Please go easy on who ever it is that you are trying to help. Have compassion and love in your heart. Try to be understanding even if your angry at them and you are most certainly angry at them but your angry because you love them and you are worried about them. Try to remember that every time to want to offer them help. Because I will tell you the Gods honest truth, a true addict and this is coming from someone who was putting 500 dollars a day of Fentanyl in his arm (the most powerful opiate for human consumption) but a honest to God true addict doesn't want to be. They are in a very very lonely place. They feel like they are in this world all alone. Like being on some deserted island with no happiness at all not even from the drug. More guilt than you can even begin to imagine from all the lies, and the stealing money and losing everything or selling everything they have ever owned. Trust me when I say they know where they stand in the eyes of the world. So its up to you as their loved ones to give them them the confidence and strength and support that they need to make the right decision and its up to them to make it. I do apologize for the long review but if only one person gets something helpful out of what I wrote here today then I feel like Im helping. So the original post........how do I rate the detox unit in Bartow (AKA The Mary Lyons Center) well, 5 stars. Yes its state funded and the bottom of the barrel but you are not there on vacation, your there to go through 5 days of hell to get your life back. Honestly I would imagine that it would not matter where you are when you begin to get severely dope sick. There is no meds to help with the withdrawls other than clonidine and for an addict thats like eating skittles. But the worse it feels and the more it hurts the longer your going to remember what you went through and hopefully you wont want to put yourself through it again. And PS all free detox facilities are going to suck to some extreme. Thank you to everyone at The Mary Lyons detox unit for everything. I honestly owe my life to you. Oh everyone but Marlena. She caused me more problems than she even realizes. And if your reading this Marlena.....I'm still clean and doing better than I ever have so what you told my wife on the phone was just simple ignorance. In outpatient the IOP program and individual counseling teaches and strengthens you by offering a different way to live. The counselors truly care and want to see you succeed. Park Manor is truly a special place to begin your healing journey. Unlike the overcrowded, factory-style treatment centers where you're packed into small rooms with 2 or more beds and essentialy treated like a number, Park Manor offers dignity, autonomy, and real comfort. Private rooms. Private bathrooms. As long as your respectful, you keep your phone and electronics. You're treated like an adult—not a problem to be managed. Clinically, it’s on another level. Where most centers have 10–15 clients per therapist and you’re lucky to get one rushed session a week, Park Manor keeps it intimate—usually 2 to 4 clients per therapist. That means meaningful individual therapy, 3-4 times per week, not just a checkbox on a schedule. In other places, advocating for yourself feels like being a nuisance. Here, it's respected. Having experienced many treatment centers, both personally and professionally, I’d send a loved one here without hesitation. It’s the most comfortable, respectful, and clinically effective program I’ve ever encountered.

A member of my family struggled with drug abuse, and us choosing Tikvah Lake Recovery was one of the best decisions we made. The staff treated him with genuine compassion, respect, and professionalism from day one. I have been to this hospital before and have never had a good experience, but when I went there two weeks ago, Dr. Rivera (lady) was my daughter's doctor in the emergency room. She is the best doctor that hospital has. She is compassionate and takes her time with patients. She made us feel like human beings, not just a number. Many times when we go there, the doctors seem rushed to get out of the room, but she took the time to listen, and you could tell she truly cared about what my daughter was going through. She really made a difference.

I am forever grateful to this place. The staff is incredible, they truly care and put their heart and soul in everything they do. Donald was my therapist, Brandy was my case manager; they were both wonderful. The other therapists and case managers that weren’t even mine were a vital part in my recovery. I suggest utilizing all the staff you can, including the BHT’s. They want to help, and they definitely did. The reviews talking about “only an hour a day in the pool,” or the “gym isn’t good enough,” if that’s what you’re taking away with you in your recovery, then good luck. We had groups every day of the week, which is a necessary part in our recovery. They had activities for us every night, so we could build connections while having fun. The pool and the gym were extra gifts when we had the opportunity to use them. I would have loved it without. If you’re considering taking the steps to recovery, 100% recommend.

Unforgettable experience. Almost all staff there when I was there to rehabilitate, was thoughtful and had their hearts in the right place. The program directors, support councilors, and all other staff members on campus made sure almost daily to check up on the youth, and building solid foundations of trust needed to have consistent progress in therapy both in session and internal. There were opportunities to further your education and if you could show responsibility and determination to better yourself, your given opportunity’s to learn more hands on life skills, like painting or how to properly write a resume and apply for a Job. While from the perspective of being rehabilitated, things can seem negative and hopeless at times. When I was there I didn’t share an positive outlook, but after deeply analyzing my experience In hindsight, this was the safest and most caring place to learn necessary coping skills to stay recovered. And I’m very thankful for all the staff members who did their job with their heart and minds in the right place. 5 stars

At first I have to say, I would not have given them any stars BUT I went in high and by day 2 felt pretty bad already. I walked in on my own accord and on day 3 almost walked out. Thanks to a few of the employees there I did not. They talked me through the worst of the times I had in there and that alone is why I am sitting here typing this review. They literally saved my life. Anyone who is reading this I just want to say something that I hope the right people hear....there is nothing easy about getting clean or staying clean. But there is also nothing easy about staying high. It is possible to live again after addiction. But no one can be forced into it. They have to be ready. At their ropes end so to speak...emotionally, financially, physically what ever the case it has to be their choice. Someone who is not an addict cant tell an addict what they need to do and how they should just stop. That would be like telling someone not on drugs to stop breathing. I know anyone who has never been there and is reading this is thinking that I am a moron, and well maybe but I am a CLEAN moron. 75 days today. I am a great father again and a great husband, son, brother, uncle, friend and I AM ALIVE for the first time in many years. So please to the parents with an addict for a child, or a spouse with a husband or wife that has an addiction or a best friend....Please go easy on who ever it is that you are trying to help. Have compassion and love in your heart. Try to be understanding even if your angry at them and you are most certainly angry at them but your angry because you love them and you are worried about them. Try to remember that every time to want to offer them help. Because I will tell you the Gods honest truth, a true addict and this is coming from someone who was putting 500 dollars a day of Fentanyl in his arm (the most powerful opiate for human consumption) but a honest to God true addict doesn't want to be. They are in a very very lonely place. They feel like they are in this world all alone. Like being on some deserted island with no happiness at all not even from the drug. More guilt than you can even begin to imagine from all the lies, and the stealing money and losing everything or selling everything they have ever owned. Trust me when I say they know where they stand in the eyes of the world. So its up to you as their loved ones to give them them the confidence and strength and support that they need to make the right decision and its up to them to make it. I do apologize for the long review but if only one person gets something helpful out of what I wrote here today then I feel like Im helping. So the original post........how do I rate the detox unit in Bartow (AKA The Mary Lyons Center) well, 5 stars. Yes its state funded and the bottom of the barrel but you are not there on vacation, your there to go through 5 days of hell to get your life back. Honestly I would imagine that it would not matter where you are when you begin to get severely dope sick. There is no meds to help with the withdrawls other than clonidine and for an addict thats like eating skittles. But the worse it feels and the more it hurts the longer your going to remember what you went through and hopefully you wont want to put yourself through it again. And PS all free detox facilities are going to suck to some extreme. Thank you to everyone at The Mary Lyons detox unit for everything. I honestly owe my life to you. Oh everyone but Marlena. She caused me more problems than she even realizes. And if your reading this Marlena.....I'm still clean and doing better than I ever have so what you told my wife on the phone was just simple ignorance. Anyone whos thinking about getting clean...dont think about it just walk in and do it. Its so worth it. God Bless and I wish you all the best

Josh is one of the best most compassionate employees in this place. I hope they are giving him a decent yearly raise. My practitioner is really good too. I only have one complaint but I won’t remove a star because the actual office location is so good*, the call center is absolute GARBAGE!! Never have I ever dealt with such people. They want so much personal information just to transfer your call to the winter haven location. I don’t like repeating my personal information over the phone because digital fraud is a growing problem. Things would be TONS better if behavioral health could get their own direct line. It seems at this rate they will probably want your blood type just to transfer a call 😩😮‍💨. It will definitely test the Christ in you to deal with jumping through their hoops. Outside of that, overall great place!

After five years of therapy, I have successfully completed treatment and discharged — something I once wasn’t sure would ever be possible. I began in addiction and substance abuse counseling and later transitioned into mental health therapy, and throughout every stage of my journey, Mrs. Barbara Pritts at Tri-County Human Services provided consistent, compassionate, and professional care. There were seasons of progress, relapse, rebuilding, and recovery again. What meant the most to me was that through it all, I was never judged or given up on. Mrs. Barbs created a safe, structured space where I could be honest, accountable, and supported — even during my hardest moments. One of the most meaningful parts of my healing journey connects to a book called Much Afraid, which includes a powerful image of a flaming red flower named “Bearing the Cost,” also known as forgiveness. That symbol represents what I struggled with most — forgiving myself. Forgiving others came easily, but learning to extend that same grace to myself took years of work, growth, and guidance. Through therapy, I finally learned how to carry that “red flower” — not with shame, but with acceptance and strength. Over time, I gained the tools, insight, and emotional stability I needed not just to recover, but to truly grow. The clinic is long overdue and I'm very grateful that the VA has invested in the new facility here in Lakeland because the old facility was a combination of several different buildings. This facility is well-organized and has a lot more services than the old Clinic so we don't have to go to the VA hospital in Tampa for certain things like an a CT scan, the eye doctors are here and more.

One of the best rehabs I have been too. I have been to. Therapist Maria is amazing. There is always more than 1 group to choose from and information is broken down in interactive and easy to understand way. Groups are led by very knowledgeable therapist. Staff and nurses amazing as well! Director does not hide behind a door. Beds are comfy, tvs in room , gym and pool. Food isn't bad. They meet you were you are but dont leave u there.

White Sands saved my life in February and continues to do so to this day. If you are looking for help and are finally willing to reach out, there is no better option than White Sands. The staff at White Sands, many of whom are serving others as a way to they themselves stay clean, are absolutely amazing. Their desire is to pick you up, dust you off, and watch you grow. From the moment you arrive at inpatient they do their best to get you in and comfortable. Each day gets easier and there is not one person who couldn't benefit from their MRT program. In outpatient the IOP program and individual counseling teaches and strengthens you by offering a different way to live. The counselors truly care and want to see you succeed. It isn't easy to ask for help and it isn't a sign of weakness. If you're willing to admit you need help, White Sands is the place to turn to.

I just wanna write because I did intake today at this place and I just want to say how much I appreciate the staff at this place . My old clinic in Lakeland is shutting down and didn’t send my paper work so the process was very long because the paperwork wasn’t sent but the staff here at new season kept me calm and confident it will get done and it did . I just wanna say eddy the program director was absolutely amazing and was calling people and really trying to get this process done. I also wanna thank Felix he was great and doing the same thing and looking up numbers and trying to help me as much as possible . Miss angel the head nurse there was absolutely amazing she also helped me talked to the doctor to try and get me dosed . Amazing people here and I’m glad I’m part of the family now .
