On Saturday November 1 my brother-in-law Louis Toscano was brought in to the ER at Advent Health hospital Lake Placid and later admitted. He died there in Tuesday November 4th.
I wanted to take the time to say thanks to Mark and Leslie, his nurses, for their professionalism, thoughtfulness and kindness. The hospital staff brought us drinks and snacks (twice). One thoughtful employee (sorry I didn’t get her name) brought us cots to the waiting area when she realized we all were spending the nights by my relatives side. This nice lace even checked back and asked how my brother in law was doing.
I was so impressed with the kindness, professionalism and compassion of the staff at Advent Health Lake Placid! Bravo for a job well done! Thank you for making this terrible time easier for us. God bless you all! Julie and Rocco Toscano and family

This place an amazing regeneration program when I first came into cross training I tryed everything to go back home. Not for my family but for my selfish reasons. After ing being there I realized I was a very selfish person I was in addiction of drugs and achohol for 2 to 3 years before. This regeneration program helped me grow up and become a good Cristian man it is a lump sum of time so you think but if you look at it as an investment it is the greatestt one you can make. Now rewriting this I have graduated and have been sober allmost 2 years and allmost one year out of the program. This place has gave me the tools to live life sober. Doctors and staff are wonderful. I came in feeling depressed and anxious. Dr. Madj Alsamman knows psychiatry and cares greatly for each patient that comes into the unit. I love him so much! Dr. Dameff is also very knowledgeable and fun!
Naomi has classes each day to help your thinking and behaviors. I learned a great deal from her. I will use the techniques she taught me to navigate the world as I go out from the comfort of Shorepoint Behavioral Hospital.
The RNs like Sandy and Christian are also knowledgeable in behavioral health and are always willing to lend an ear and advice to patients. The techs like Maryellen are so concerned for the people there as well.
My time there was well worth it.

My experience with Boca Recovery was incredibly meaningful, but the person who truly changed my life was Nikki. From the very first moment we spoke, she made me feel seen, safe, and understood in a way I didn’t even realize I needed. She wasn’t just doing her job—she was genuinely invested in my well-being and my future.
Nikki supported me through every single step of the process, from start to finish, and even long after my time in the program. She never disappeared, never stopped checking in, never stopped reminding me that I was capable of rebuilding my life. That level of care is so rare, and I don’t take it for granted for one second.

So from the first day I arrived I was made to feel very welcomed. They made sure I ate and was very comfortable. The staff was amazing, the techs are very understanding and relatable people. Loved all the nurses and providers. My case worker got so much done for me during my Stay and my therapist really helped me figure out my triggers and trauma and I loved the facilitators as well. Even after I left the staff still check on me till this day to make sure I’m alright. Would definitely recommend this place if you’re serious about recovery.

The staff at CWC is what has them standing apart from the rest. I found confidence, love, discipline, and structure while there. I found my voice. I did the work but the staff at CWC had my back, guided me, and even held my hand through it all. I needed that at the time and they knew that. Miss Linda, Paul, Jennifer and so many of CWC staff (way too many to name, I would be here all night) went above and beyond their job descriptions to help make me the man I am today. Thank you sincerely CWC and Jason, you guys will always have a special place in my heart. Comprehensive Wellness Center truly changed my life. When I arrived, I was struggling and unsure if recovery was even possible, but the staff made me feel supported, respected, and understood from day one. Heather the counselors and the doctor run a wonderful facility here. They offer freedom from active addiction a promise of renewed hope and a purposeful driven life free from addiction. My stay here a year ago also provided me the opportunity to live in their sober living home. The art, equine, yoga and reki thrapy sessions are incredible. I really liked the bio bed as well as my free time on the patio. 7 Summit Pathways reintroduced me to mindful meditation, grounding techniques and journaling. My counselor Doug was very encouraging. I was able to get a job near to their sober living house in Valrico and protect my anonymity. They had a nice dinner for the holidays and other clients families would join us. I just wanted to say how incredibly helpful and amazing Heather was tonight during a crisis. I reached out at midnight about a family member and was blown away by her kindness, willingness to talk/help, etc. I have worked in the substance abuse field for over 15 years and been a patient as well. I know that parts of the system can be broken at times. Heather went above and beyond what I have ever seen anyone do. She really cares and is a true angel.

I went to detox here last summer. I had never been anywhere for detox or treatment and I was terrified before I arrived. The staff were all very kind and supportive. I actually had fun and learned a lot! They assisted me in getting into a Post Hospitalization Program, which I attended and completed. They still check on me to see him I'm doing and see if there's anything I need. I highly recommend Amethyst!

June 2023, I attended Transformations and had a wonderful and very healing experience. I recently have celebrated 600 days sober from alcohol, which is what I went into rehab for. I just graduated from Miracles’ Intensive Outpatient Program last Friday and I have nothing but praise for the treatment center and staff. I began my journey at Miracles on May 9 after two weeks in a detox. I began in their PHP program, completed the recommended four weeks, and expected to maybe stay a month or two in IOP. Once I arrived at Miracles; however, I felt like it was where I was meant to be. I have completed a few other PHPs, but none before Miracles did I even start, let alone complete, IOP. I wanted to stay in Miracles IOP and sober living longer than the average stay, and was able to work with my therapist to have my time in the program extended more than one time. In all, I was at Miracles for five months. I was able to learn from the treatment program, attend outside meetings, find a sponsor and work the steps all while living in Freedom Housing with affordable weekly rent. I am also currently reliant on crutches to walk or get around at all, and they were accommodating to my physical disability. I was able to stay on my medications for mental health and substance abuse with regular visits with a medical provider. I finally felt “at home” living and attending treatment with Miracles. I am forever grateful for my time in the program and everyone who helped me during my extended time there. I would highly recommend Miracles for someone who has completed detox/residential treatment and is ready to get serious about their sobriety and recovery. Along with clinical staff, I would also like to mention how amazing Eric and Shanell are at their jobs and going above and beyond the call of duty helping those of us in recovery.

Eric, the housing director, has been incredibly helpful and compassionate, making sure she feels safe and comfortable in her living situation. When I came into Elan I was broken, I had no trust in rehab centers and they changed my way of thinking. They earned my trust and helped me save my life. The staff is truly the best hand picked employees a rehab center could have. All the therapists are phenomenal in what they do, they have all helped me and have gave me the criteria to live a honest clean sober life. The Techs are wonderful they’re so welcoming and do anything to make you comfortable, the lead techs Keri & Scott are so insightful. The family program that the therapist Lystra conducted was the most HEALING EXPERIENCE and has helped with a lifetime worth of damage. We keep in contact weekly and it’s the most beautiful relationship I’ve bonded with a therapist, thank you Lystra for all you do. The Director Barbara I will be forever grateful for she always made time to be there for me. The Clinical Medical staff knows what they are talking about and very understanding. Pastor Craig is the best motivational staff member he’s made a world of a difference in my life. Diane’s groups are AMAZING!
