About KaraLee and Associates, West Building

Located in Plymouth, Michigan, KaraLee and Associates offers mental health care for children through adults. They also provide psychological testing and outpatient (OP) therapy.

Their mental health professionals specialize in treating a number of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, attention deficit disorder, impulse control disorders as well as relationship difficulties, anger management, and conduct disorder. They also work with families of divorce and offer programs to improve parenting skills.

KaraLee and Associates offer a safe and non judgemental environment where individuals work with skilled professionals to set and achieve positive long term goals. Individual counseling can be done 1 on 1 or through their video therapy or tele therapy options. These convenient options help individuals and families make their scheduled appointments. They even allow your pets to come to therapy with you!

Their Psychological testing services can help to assess for various psychological, intellectual and learning conditions that make it difficult for an individual to function successfully in day to day life. These include testing for Autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities. They also offer treatment guidance and recommendations for education or employment accommodations, if needed.

KaraLee and Associates accept commercial insurance plans and self pay. As of 2014, the Affordable Care Act included mental health as an essential benefit, however, there are some exceptions to this, so make sure you understand your insurance before starting treatment. In some cases, insurance companies require prior authorization before starting care or may expect that care is received by in network only providers.

Do not, I repeat, do not go here. This place is fraudulent and an absolute scam. I took my daughter here for therapy, and her dad s insurance that she was under switched through therapy. Rather than reach out to me on my phone personally, they mailed me a bill. I called numerous times and left multiple messages to billing trying to take care of the issue. Come to find out they sent to collections and a law firm reaches out to me and it was two bills, another they were billing to our super old address. (Which is strange, they know I moved hence the one bill being sent to my current address) The insurance she switched to may have actually been able to cover the bill but because they waited YEARS to notify me that insurance didnt pick these bills up, it is now too late to bill out insurance. They are unprofessional and didn t even help my daughter if anything made her worse. They prey on already vulnerable individuals going through a hard time to try to find a loophole to financially hurt a family. I am actually in disbelief and will be contacting BBB as I would not want ANYONE else to go through what we have with this place. Take you or your child elsewhere, this place will create mental trauma by having to deal with them and try to reach them on a daily basis. Let these reviews speak for themselves. They have less than 3 stars for a reason. They d probably have even less but their clients may not be the type to want to speak up on their scams. Do your research! Mental health is so important, don t let them take advantage of you. God bless.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Kara Lee helped to speed up the process of getting my teenage step daughter in for care. Many other therapy offices have a wait list, especially for that age group. We were thankful to have help and quickly! The therapist is very empathetic and offered several options for additional support. As a parent, I am grateful to have the therapist available to help with difficult discussions and topics. We were informed about what our insurance exactly covered before we started sessions which was great too! I have recommended Kara Lee to others because of our positive experience.

They dropped me as a client without notifying me or much communication. Not a good experience overall. The negative reviews are true. I wanted to believe this was a good therapy because they accepted my insurance. I hope Kara Lee can learn from the negative reviews and do better. But unfortunately, at this time I can't recommend them.

Horrible place!!!!! I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Took my teenager here and they made her feel worst about herself. She feels she can't trust people even more now. AND to top it off, I witnessed them laughing and talking about their clients after they leave. In front of the people in the waiting room! I don't understand how they can sleep at night knowing the things they've done.

I was trying to go back to get help with the only therapist I connected with. They will not see me because apparently I owe them money. I told them I would pay but still denied me services. So if you are in collections for less than $100, they will not see you.
