For almost 3 decades Mary Hall Freedom Village has been dedicated to changing the world one woman at a time. In my research, there is no better testament to community, loving thy neighbor and helping one another rise from the ashes of substance abuse disorder. Mary Hall Freedom Village doesn't just change the lives of every woman and child who is welcomed into the program, it also reunites families. I would recommend this 501C3 non-profit to anyone who believes that anything is possible with love.

My experience at Mary Hall has changed my life for the greater good. I had come in scared not knowing what to expect, to being embraced and welcomed with open arms. From the consolers really giving a damn about you and going to bat and fighting for you during your recovery and the classes and meetings, being able to express yourself and share without judgement, and to rest in a safe environment. Candace, my consoler stood on principle and made sure I had all tools and everything that I needed for the program and when I leave the program. Ms. T, the Behavior Health Coordinator, stands on business and holds you accountable, and I LOVE IT!!! She listens and will check you when you're wrong. When coming to Mary Hall, being serious about your recovery is a must. If you're not serious about your recovery, this is not the place for you!!! As for me, the program works and the miracle will and does work

Mary Hall Freedom Village. Where life begins again! This Recovery Community is amazing and life changing! They gave me my structure back, help me regain my footing and confidence in my ability to bring forth the character I needed to pull my life together again. This is my second time attending after not completing the program my first time around they welcomed me with open arms, smiling faces and ready to help me tackle everything I didn't reveal. It was relieving to know I wouldn't be judge, shunned, or ridiculed. The staff team are Qualified and I do not say that lightly from Training, Certifications, Degrees and Real Life Experience they have it all and they are not afraid to share it. Come ready to dive deep, be real, reveal, and heal. They say stay until the miracle happens, I definitely agree we all face difficulties but genuine interest and support does not come everyday and from anywhere. Give Mary Hall a Chance to help reveal the miracles God has in store for you!Special Shout Out to...Ms. Tenekia (Ms. T)Ms. BelindaMs. PamMs. MerlynMs. JoannaMs. SharonMs. SheilaMr. AmaechiMs. NicoleAnd all other staff(not included)I LOVE YOU ALLYOU HAVE LEFT A LASTING IMPRESSION AND CHANGED MY LIFE!THANK YOU & BLESSINGS!

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

When I tell you that MHFV is the TRUTH it is just that. From the time you walk through the doors you feel safe, respected, and loved.. The staff here are amazing and fights for you like God warriors! Like any many places there are those that go above and beyond like Ms. Belinda, Ms. Tenekia, Ms. Joann, Ms Merlyn, Ms. Stephanie, Ms Candace and the CEO Ms Lucy! Just to name a few, upon entry you will have the pleasure of meeting Ms. Shalynn and Ms. Sharon wonderful caring women. Next the Medical Staff really fights for you on day one until you’re able to manage them on your own! They are Ms. Lois, Ms. Terri, Ms. Marion and Ms. Genice. Lastly the living arrangements and the abundance of food. There are two different living arrangements 1. ROD which is huge!! To say the least each apartment is equipped with beds, dressers, fully stocked kitchens and Community food with a bright Sunroom! 2nd The Donna Center with so many rooms available and well decorated! The kitchen is a fully stocked industrial kitchen. Here at MHFV the tools and classes prepare you for Life on Life terms. The motto here is We Will Love You Until You Learn To Love Yourself!!! I could go on and on but if you come trust and believe you won’t be disappointed!!! See you all soon ,space is limited so don’t delay your stay!!! *******UPDATE******* Just when I thought it could not get any better, MHFV hired a new Employment Specialist. Ms. Nicole, possesses a deep understanding of employment services, including career counseling, job placement, resume building, and skills assessment. I am consistently impressed with her professionalism, dedication, and expertise in workforce development. Her ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds, assess their needs, and develop individualized employment plans is exceptional. She consistently demonstrates compassion, patience, and a strong commitment to helping individuals overcome barriers to employment and achieve their career goals. In addition to their technical skills, Ms. Nicole is an excellent communicator and a strong collaborator. She works effectively with community organizations, employers, and internal teams to create opportunities for clients. Her positive attitude, strategic thinking, and results-driven approach has made a significant impact on on the clients with numbers currently at 75% of the clients being gainfully and happily employed. Thanks for all you do Ms. Nicole, we truly are glad that your here!!!!

Looking around at my current situation, I feel grateful. I'm safe at Mary Hall. I'm cared for. I'm loved. They offer classes that helped me with my codependency. They have helped me successfully get my children back and taught me how to manage motherhood with their parenting classes and by mentally, emotionally and physically supporting me. I love Ms. Lucy and everything she has poured her time and passion into here. I give them 5 stars but they deserve 10. This program saved and changed my entire life. I have been here over a year, because they have my back. I have a warm bed, food, clothing, water, and love. Thank you Mary Hall and everyone that makes up that anointed name!

I have been reading these reviews and something is sticking out like a sore thumb. Many people have done extraordinarily well after completing this program. First, nothing in this world is perfect. So to expect perfection out of it, is irrational. Mary Hall helped me twice so far. It is my second favorite treatment facility and that says a lot because I have been to quite a few of them. I did not experience what the bad reviews say. Mary Hall does have you walk to your groups and it is a difficult walk if you're out of shape but if you have your kids with you, you won't have to walk everyday because you would have to be at the bus stop on time. I only ever witnessed one woman use while there and those of us who noticed raised hell and the woman left on her own accord because they put her on a behavioral contract where she had to get searched everyday. After two days of searches, she bailed. So the claim that the women there are just using drugs and staff doesn't care is ridiculous as I never witnessed that while there TWICE. Lucy Hall's story hits home for Me. She started off with one apartment and now look at her legacy! What a legacy!! Is it perfect? No. But nothing in this world is. If walking 3 miles is too difficult for you, you may want to consider RIGHT SIDE UP, HOPE HOUSE OF AUGUSTA, or MOTHERS MAKING A CHANGE. But you may not obtain affordable housing with those other programs. Mary Hall seems to be the only program that provides emergency and affordable housing. That's huge because where are these women supposed to go if they don't have anywhere to go upon completion of treatment? If you want to complain about this program then that must mean you don't need their help. They are providing a service just like the drive-thru. And nothing is free so if you're getting free housing and free transportation, I don't understand why you're complaining.

MHVF has given me my life back!! I was taught step’s to take to live without drug and alcohol, I was giving medical attention by the medical staff. I had a counselor that helped me through. I took trauma therapy. I came in with my kid and he was embraced by Miss Carla Hall and her team . All these things that Mary HALL had to offer I used it This program gave me my family back. I am so grateful, and will remain grateful for Mary HALL freedom Village.

When I got to Mary Hall I was broken and at my end. I knew that I didn’t want to have a life of drinking and druging any longer. I had to do something different. I had to come to the realization that I would have to come to Mary Hall without my baby. I had Dfcs in my life and thankfully a great friend that I was aloud to sign temporary custody to while I worked on myself. I felt like the best thing for me was to focus on me so I could be better for my children. I wanted to get everything Mary hall had to offer. I done day class for three months. My favor class was Ms. Lucy’s class where people read their life story’s it let me know I was not alone. Her class was dancing and signing at the beginning which to someone who is shy it helped me to come out of my shell. I also loved Ms Belinda’s class. “I just can’t give up now!” (If you know you know) that song will forever help me more than she knows. Ms Sharons thinking for a change I took in all the information they had to offer and started slowing loving myself. I had a wonderful counselor Ms Dee ♥️ she helped me process and get through things that was holding me back. She really listened, let me cry and gave me good advice. I done freedom academy. This is a course they offered me to help me to learn to get job ready and get back into the world as a productive member of society. They help me with my resume and done mock interviews which again helped me so much because I hadn’t worked in so long and I am shy so it got me ready. I was able to get a job the day after these classes and still work at the same job today. The next step I took was three months of intense out patient class. This class I was able to process and continue relapse prevention. I loved this program and everything that they are about. Housing was some of my favorite people they could probably get more credit but them seeing us fills their hearts and it shows.♥️ The love I felt here I needed because when I walked through the doors I couldn’t even look in the mirror. They took time and helped each and everyone of us and we are a lot of girls so you could just imagine. I came closer to God and feel him working through this program. After completing my 6 months I signed up to stay another 6 months in a transitional housing program to continue working on myself in a after care program so I would be better prepared for when my daughter came home. I am thankful to Ms Rosa she was my after care counselor she is a very strong woman and I look up to her. Ms Pam is now my counselor and I’m not going to lie when I first got her I was scared of her but that was just because she is tough but she is sweet as can be. She teaches my aftercare class and I honestly get so much out of it. Ms Carla made sure that I got my visit when I should and worked with me for my parenting certificate. She cares for each one of the children like they are her own. She helped me with my Dfcs case and I am proud to say that as of today January 30th 2025 my case is officially closed and my daughter will be home tomorrow. 😊 we done it. And I say we because without Ms Lucy and her village of people I wouldnt be where I am at today. I love myself for the first time and want good things in my life. I have a lot of trauma in my story and I truly believe that if I would have went anywhere else these things would have not happened for me today. I will forever be thankful to God first and Mary Hall for everything they have done in our lives. I would recommend Mall Hall to anyone who is ready to have a new way of living without the use of drugs and or alcohol. It saved my life ♥️😊
