About Miracle Place Church
Miracle Place Church is an evangelical house of worship and shelter facility located in Baker, Louisiana. Established in 2001, they offer church services and Sunday school. They also offer the All the Way House, which is a residential mission for men who struggle with substance use disorder and alcohol use disorder.
The overall goal of the residential facility is to help people transition back into normal society after having struggled with addiction issues. They believe that SUD can be treated by living a Christian lifestyle.
What Treatment Is Like
You will have both group and individual counseling. Residents are expected to participate in Bible studies. The staff consists of administrators and pastors; they are not a medical facility.
You will also learn life skills such as how to balance a budget and take care of a house. They provide vocational training and resume assistance if necessary. They run a thrift store in which you can obtain work experience.
I like the laidback family atmosphere this place has. I also like the fact that they take a non-judgmental approach to treating SUD.
Other Services
Once you have completed residential treatment, you can still participate in activities at the church. They have groups for women, men, youth, and families.
Former clients have stated that the mission really helped them. Some say they struggled with addiction for decades and were never able to get clean until they came to stay here.

Treatments
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
While each drug rehab in Louisiana offers unique elements, recovery support often follows a similar pattern. Detox is followed by inpatient and/or outpatient care, then aftercare support is provided once the participant completes the initial program.
Clinical Services
Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.
In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
