East Coast Recovery is amazing! It’s amazing because the people that work there are incredible and they care very much about seeing clients succeed. I initially planned on being at East Coast on a week to week basis, not knowing how it was going to be before I got there. The service I received and the help I got far exceeded all of my expectations. I ended up staying for over three months. I give them five stars because I am diabetic and they on it like definitely on it. The only thing I don’t like is back to back appointments. I do not receive Medicaid and this is out come from my pockets so financially it hurts a little bit but as for the doctors, they perfectly great great, the only thing I said is back to back appointment for the same thing with different doctors but other than that, they absolutely great

I am currently in this program and my counselor is great. I am flourishing in a way that I never have before. The staff are very supportive and allow me work a program that is uniquely designed for me. I would deffinately recomend it to a friend or anyone else that is seriouse about recovery.

Group sizes are small and manageable, so you actually get personal attention. The vibe among patients is supportive and motivated. Most folks are there because they want to be, and that makes a huge difference.
I’ve participated in IOP, outpatient groups, individual therapy, DBT, CBT, and trauma-informed work. The DBT class, in particular, was a life changer—the skills are concrete and I use them every day.
Over my time at Hazelden, I’ve gained tools to rebuild routines, reduce cravings, improve relationships, and maintain sobriety. Especially the Counselors, My Counselor in Particular. Her Name was Jenn. A Wonderful Person and an Absolute Dear young Lady.
She was Extremely informative and Knows just how to make you feel Comfortable and Cared For.
I was going through a Rough patch, but looked Forward to my meetings with her every week and Every time I left her office, I ALWAYS FELT BETTER AND FELT LIKE SOMEONE CARED..
I can Honestly Say, Meeting Jenn was a Highlight of my Time there.
I only left there because I found a place Much Closer to my home out East.
But my Counselor there will always be close to my heart.
And I Thank Her Dearly.

Great service offered to persons in need they have a methadone clinic and a residence. It is like a one-stop shop except there is no detox service offered. There are groups and structured programs for clients. I know of persons who have used the service and are now successful. If they did it, so can others. ‘Hurt People , Hurt People’. I needed a free therapist and was able to have 5 intake sessions with a pleasant young woman. I benefited from these sessions as it is always rewarding when we analyze and acknowledge what is going on in our lives. So much was happening for me and I was not able to attend all the assigned sessions. Management was not able to communicate in a responsible or mature manner; I wonder maybe they too are prior clients who have graduated but do not have a total grip on their situation and sometimes need help themselves. My very pleasant intake person became insensitive, cold, ‘passive aggressive’ and quite non communicative. I lead the conversation and realized that I was being ‘expelled’. I really don’t know the reason as I do believe she has her own issues and the Leadership is not of a strong foundation with knowledge of servicing a diverse clientele. Such a shame because this has the potential to be a top notch program in a great community. I only wish I was able to find an experienced, strong, qualified leadership that is familiar with diversity and respect. I was feeling hurt as this was the second time I had to deal with leadership’s lack of sensitivity. It should not be just a JOB when people come to you for help. Fix the structure of this place.

I'm actually still a patient in the hospital right now. Only problem I have is the food is to bland. So nasty. They definitely need a better cook. But the staff is amazing. Kerri Ann, kat, and the entire 4th floor ICU and the entire 5th floor staff is amazing. They definitely goes above and beyond for the patients. The doctor's are amazing. Wonderful nurse staff. They talk with patients and explain everything in details. Attitudes are amazing. Definitely no complaints. Housekeeping is amazing. Transport is amazing. Basically the entire hospital staff is amazing. All I'm saying is thank you for everything

Today is my 43 birthday and I am so grateful to Project Outreach saving my life. I am sober and my mental health has never been better.
I am a single mother of two children who suffers from major depression and alcoholism. A little over a year ago I walk into Project Outreach broken like never before. I was scare because I lost hope. Their treatment plan saved me.
I will like to give Stephanie Blackwood an special shout out because I would not have made it this far without her expertise and compassion towards me. Emdr is a great treatment for trauma. The Recovery groups are lead by an amazing team of experts. All the therapist, psychiatrist and more are at master level and above. However, it’s not just their education, it’s their compassion and honesty that matters and was essential to my recovery.

UPDATE: I want to update my review after staying there. Let me start with the positive.... a HUGE thank you to the nurses in Pediatrics who help with surgical recovery. They are amazing and will go the extra mile to help patients. Im very grateful to them. I found all staff to be kind. What I would say is some areas of the hospital need updating. The OR looks dated and is extremely cold while the Pediatric until has rooms that are too hot. There seems to be poor temp regulation. But again, tell staff and they do their best to adjust things for you. Another suggestion is the food in recovery. I was given post op foods that had red dye 40, high fructose corn syrup and gluten...even though I explained I had a gluten sensitivity and didnt want anything with that. These are not good recovery foods to help a body. They create inflammation and issues. Whole clean foods is the way to go when a body needs to recover from trauma. Our country is antiquated in this area. Lastly, it would be nice to have warm blankets available right as someone is transitioning out of anesthesia. Those are my honest suggestions.
I will update this review as needed. During my first experience at Hoboken, I found the hospital to be dated and a bit dingy which gave me reservations about scheduling a surgery there. Then I reviewed the reviews and I have to say, I grew even more concerned about the level of care provided while in the recovery rooms. I dont know if this has changed but I seriously hope the hospital takes these reviews onto consideration and does something to improve patient experiences. The reviews in conjunction with the dated appearance are going to prevent people from selecting this hospital for a surgical preference which wont be good for the hospital. Also, does the staff feel appreciated? If not, this trickles down to patient care.

I used to go to the lower east side service center. It is a great program it help me get clean. ... no problem .. I have my own place and I'm no longer a slave to drugs and what it put me through drugs suck ... the people there helped me gain inner strength to kick the drug habbit and lead a better life .
