I strongly urge anyone to get a second opinion before trusting this place. My fiancé was misdiagnosed with hemorrhoids when, in reality, it was cancer. What makes this even more infuriating is that on their website, the very first page emphasizes “Colorectal Cancer – Catch it Early”—yet this lady completely ignored the signs. Medical professionals are only practicing medicine for a reason, it’s just an educated guess, and clearly, this woman’s education needs some serious improvement. If you value your health, seek a second opinion from a doctor who truly listens and takes your concerns seriously.

I had an okay experience with my therapist. However, the answering service employee was less than kind. She was so rude, it actually shocked me. Fortunately, I have private insurance and will take my care elsewhere.

Jana Theisen was my LAC. DO NOT go to her. She is incompetent and should not be a licensed addiction counselor. She is extremely conservative and I felt she was judgemental and sexist. There were clients in her group who were struggling and she acted as though she did not want to be there. She was often highly emotional and moody. She does not understand addiction or have the ability to think outside the box. Also, you can't trust her. When I expressed my thoughts and opinions regarding the criminal justice system and the Grand Forks Co. Jail she shared them with my probation officer! She is very unprofessional. She is all about authority and structure and misses the big picture.

Patty or Patti, not sure which. Gave me someone to talk to about what was happening. I really like the folks who work for Altru because they treat me like I actually matter, and like I'm more than just words on a screen or page. Otherwise, premium care!

This place saved me. They took the time to listen to me, even when I screamed at them because I was having a hard time expressing my emotions and trauma. They never seemed impatient with me and staff would stay with me as long as I needed. They take the time to get to know you and they ask you before putting you on new medications. They took us on fun outings and gave us each our own music player. We even got to pick the music they put on it! They treated us like real people, not just something they were stuck dealing with until their shifts ended like other facilities I was at. I used to try ending my life all the time before going there. After leaving, I never attempted again. Its been two years since I was there and I will always be greatful for everything they had done for me.
