Pioneer Human Services — Whatcom Community Detox is a drug and alcohol rehab located in Bellingham, Washington. The facility has 16 beds. The medical staff will monitor you constantly as you detoxify. They can provide you with medically assisted treatment if detox is too painful for you. They will admit people who are stable medically but have drugs or alcohol in their system.
This facility allows you the time and space you need to get drugs out of your body. You will be able to focus completely on your detox and your rehab plans. The staff can refer you to inpatient facilities where you will have time to focus entirely on yourself and your issues with substances.
The staff will visit with you throughout your detox experience. They will give you a full assessment so they can refer you to a facility that will work best for you. In some cases, they will recommend you to an outpatient service.
You do not need a referral for this facility. However, they do accept many clients from hospital and law enforcement referrals.
The amount of time detox takes will depend upon the type of substance in your system. For example, alcohol detox can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Cocaine generally is out of your system within four days or so.
