About Preferred Family Healthcare – Carol Jones Recovery Center

Preferred Family Healthcare- Carol Jones Recovery Center provides residential treatment, partial hospitalization, and outpatient treatment services to women.

Adult residential treatment is for those who need mental health and physical stabilization before mental health treatment can begin. The residential program at Carol Jones Recovery Center is for women only. It includes counseling, education, classes, and relapse prevention services.

Partial Hospitalization is a day treatment program that is highly structured while allowing for the flexibility of returning home in the evening. This program requires that there is no immediate danger that would require inpatient hospitalization. It incorporates clinical treatment practices for addiction, such as medications, individual and group therapy, and trauma related counseling. Evidence based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing are incorporated into the treatment process.

Outpatient treatment programming is a more flexible approach to addiction treatment and is a step down from partial hospitalization programs and intensive outpatient programs. This service provides continued support for addiction recovery through individual therapy, group therapy, and educational classes on addiction and recovery. Medications may be managed for those in need, and trauma support may also be offered. The goal is to continue to move toward a life of recovery and a suitable aftercare treatment plan that allows for reintegration back into society.

Group therapy involves treatment through the process of connecting in a group setting to discuss and work through mental, emotional, and physical issues. There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psychoeducation, and more, that offer a sense of connection and understanding through relating with others.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Missouri usually involves several phases: detox, rehab, and aftercare. The rehab phase may include a combination of inpatient and outpatient treatments, as the individual moves through a continuum of care on their recovery journey.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Through their Achieving Recovery, Resiliency & Responsibility Through Creativity (ARTC) programs, PFH strives to provide a wide range of creative opportunities and experiences which allow program participants, young and old to use their talents, strengths and interests as tools for personal growth and recovery.

Many families in Southwest Missouri (Greene, Barry, Lawrence, and Stone counties) have substance abuse challenges impacting the well-being of their children. Without intervention, these children are at risk of removal from their home. Once children have been taken out of a home, families often face a difficult road to reunification. Through a federal grant, PFH, in collaboration with many public and private partners, is providing much-needed assistance to these families.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

This place and the staff here have been a gift of God's mercy to me. I came out of prison with just the clothes on my feet. They helped get me into sober living, got me food, clothes, a phone, a bike, and my meds. While job searching I could stop by and go to class and hang out here. The atmosphere is like a 2nd home. Ill forever be grateful for this place 🙏

I do not recommend this place at all as my mother died in their care and now I have to suffer my entire life without my mother because of them. I do not recommend their practice or their doctors. Their doctors do not know how to prescribe drugs safely and should not be giving medical advice or prescribing drugs without ALL medical history before doing so. I will get justice for my mother and I will fight for her as this place took my mother from me. Truly the worst place, worst people and worst doctors I’ve ever met with zero sympathy and zero empathy as I lost my mother due to their negligence. #justiceformymom

I cannot get ahold of anyone at this place. My mother is in this facility. I call after missing her phone time and they let me know she said she loves me but I drop off Bible study and some crossword books for her and she doesn’t receive them. And then when I call to ask WHY she hasn’t received them I’m told by another person on the phone they can’t confirm she’s even there. When the FIRST person I talked to before being put on hold confirmed. -I left 3 voicemails LAST week to just get an answer on when I can visit. But how am I supposed to know what’s appropriate to bring her or not when I can’t get a call back. After my mom calls me in her phone time, she confirms that she has not received any of the stuff I dropped off. But her husband dropped stuff off for her and she got them. Will be calling once again tomorrow and if I can’t get through to someone I’ll just have to go in person and take time off.
