I came all the way to Synergy from Los Angeles, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. I can honestly say that I left a different person than the one who arrived. The program helped me understand myself on a much deeper level, recognize the patterns that had been keeping me stuck, and develop tools that I know I will continue using long after treatment. I left feeling more grounded, hopeful, and connected to who I truly am. The counselors and RAs are all incredible. They are compassionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in every woman who comes through the program. I always felt supported and cared for, without ever feeling judged. The program itself is truly amazing and creates space for real healing. Not only from addiction, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually as well. The setting is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and extremely comfortable. It feels warm and home-like, which made such a difference during such a vulnerable time. The food is also delicious, and you can tell how much care goes into it. Synergy gave me so much more than I expected. I learned an incredible amount about myself, built meaningful relationships, and began creating a life that I genuinely want to protect. I will always be grateful to the entire Synergy team for the role they played in changing my life and I would recommend this program to anyone who is struggling. <3

I am writing to share my experience at Synergy, which has far exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped onto the property, it felt like home. The staff is nurturing, loving, and supportive, offering a holistic approach to recovery that equips clients with unique skills and tools. The opportunity to experience new things in a safe, well-balanced environment helps the brain establish new pathways, supporting the skills taught during the stay. Furthermore, the clients you go through recovery with become your biggest fans and closest friends. Synergy also provides informative resources to continue introspection, healing, and growth after departure. My stay focused on Complex PTSD, Anxiety, and Depression. Although I was initially nervous about taking this step for myself in an environment with mixed treatment needs, I quickly realized I made the right decision. I cannot recommend Synergy enough. The skills I learned and the self-love I gained will journey forward with me for a lifetime.

I checked myself into the Cox North treatment center about 2010. Got set up on Suboxone. Unfortunately I ended up getting fired before I could finish the treatment and had to get off it all by myself. And I was on 24 mg a day three pills. I wish I'd have been on 2 mg a day. When I tried winning it down myself I realized 2 mg a day was keeping the problems away if you know what I mean. But it does work! Your poop's going to be pretty loose for a long time if you were on opiates but Imodium will help LOL anyways don't give up people! Rick Byrd

Wonderful clinic with amazing psychologists! Dr. Kohler was a brilliant psychologist and helped me through navigate through the worst time of my life after a traumatic event occurred. I am only sad that he no longer practices. Their waiting rooms are very spacious and have plenty of light which helps ease your anxiety and stress while you wait. They are great at helping you schedule appointments to fit around your work schedule! You can even book appointments out 3 in advance which is quite nice! Each doctor is different in how they set their own schedule for the days/hours in which they work though, so do keep that in mind when you're researching a particular psychologist at their practice that you'd like to make an appointment to see. If you do not have a referral from your PCP (primary care physician) or elsewhere (such as the emergency room, etc) you might be in for a bit of a long wait. It could be 3+ weeks or likely much more to be able to even get scheduled to have just your initial appointment for your evaluation with a psychologist, which from what I remember with Dr. Kohler was significantly more money/a higher copay than the regular therapy visits are. But it is *definitely* well worth every penny!!! I had different insurance with my work the year before I started seeing Dr. Kohler and had to see a therapist at Burrell and I can honestly say that I felt like I walked into a really bad section of Commercial Street after dark... And when I started to have a severe panic attack the therapist at Burrell did nothing to try to get my breathing stabilized or to try to get me back to any kind of a calm state, nor did he even offer me a single tissue and I was hysterically crying... It was completely inhumane... But here it is completely different! They genuinely care and show genuine compassion for their patients. I will never be able to repay Dr. Kohler for how much he has helped me. He was my favorite therapist.

I have to admit Lakeland has problems. But I wont discredit the help I received there. Yes at times it could be very traumatic but through that I learned how to handle real world stressers. I learned life isn't perfect there. I also learned how to focus on myself. There was some rude staff but what can you expect when they are literally trained to be that way. Not to mention the place is severly understaffed so there would be the same three staff doing doubles back to back. But thats besides the point. Here are my honorable mentions Mr.Daniel, Ms.Annisa, Ms.Amy, Ms.Maggie, Mr.Chandler, Mr.Jacob, Ms.Christina who is one of the best therapists I've ever had ( she honestly deserves a raise) all the people I've mentioned if they still work there they deserve a raise. also the unit manager Ms.Reba for serenity which is where I resided also deserves a raise. Also if anyone from the big bosses sees this i would like to advocate for anyone who is in there at the moment. We need better phase work like something that attains to each individual person. Also the raising our hands to speak to a staff member and asking to approach is just Ludacris you know why, We are human we are social creatures. And I have trouble even speaking to people now because I feel I have to say silent or ask to speak. Anyways the place does help if you let it. I hope Lakeland gets better and continues to help people like me.❤️

For the past 13 years, I have had the privilege of providing counseling services at Lakeland, and I truly love my job. The staff and children I work with make this place special, and I take great pride in the work we do to support children, teens, and their families. Every day, I walk into the facility with one goal - to make a positive impact on someone's life. I work hard, as do my colleagues, and I want to emphasize that the dedicated staff at Lakeland are not defined by the incidents that may be sensationalized in the media. Unfortunately, where there are children, there will always be those who seek to harm them, and no facility is immune to that reality. However, we remain committed to providing a safe, supportive and healing environment. It is important to recognize the meaningful and life-changing work being done here every day.

All the staff are always so nice and helpful, regardless if it is over the phone or in person. I have been working with them for just shy of a year and have always had a positive experience. I recommend them to everyone I know that asks about counseling services. When I started back in therapy I was extremely nervous since I have had less than helpful experiences in the past. In the waiting room you feel more like home than at a doctor's office which helped so much with my anxiety about it! A Life-Changing Experience As a mother, there are no words to truly express what it feels like to watch your child struggle and not be able to do anything to help. I reached a point where I was searching for help and finding Synergy Executive has been nothing short of life changing. Since being at Synergy, we have seen incredible changes in him—and every single one has been positive. He is becoming healthier, stronger, calmer & more hopeful. The changes we are seeing have given us hope for his future. A huge positive and something that was desperately needed is that Synergy treats the person, not just the addiction. They have provided support, accountability, structure, compassion, and tools that are helping him build a completely different life. One of the things that has touched me the most is seeing the friendships he has made there. He has genuinely connected with the other guys & staff and made friends with all of them. Those friendships and the sense of brotherhood he has found have been such an important part of his journey. Another proud mom moment is that he attended every single class and participated in every activity while he was there including Art, Pickleball, Basketball, Swimming, Acupuncture, Cupping, Massages, Yoga and Meditation! I will forever be grateful for the entire Synergy team, - the Counselors, the Chefs, the RA's, all of you for what you have done and the huge impact you have made in his life and mine. Thank you for helping him and more importantly, helping him build a life worth living!! I cannot recommend Synergy Executive enough. In 2012, at the age of 55 I was in a car wreck in which a local small town policeman ran a red light with no lights or siren and collided with my 2003 Mustang, resulting in my vehicle being completely totaled. I am not a street person, I have a bachelors degree in Business/Marketing and a teaching certification. For several years I had been a grocery merchandiser traveling around southwest Missouri calling on Walmart stores to build displays, put up advertising and just do various forms of merchandising within the stores, earning about $13 an hour. I only had liability insurance on my car and the insurance company for this small town refused to pay for my vehicle. Thus I lost my job, I was unemployed, unable to pay my rent and in the meantime I became completely bankrupt. As I had to have a car to do my job and I could not find any work where I could take the bus. I was bankrupt and unable to pay my rent and full of fear as to where I was going to end up.Many well educated, good people find themselves homeless due to misfortune and not necessarily . I had heard of Recovery Chapel, and being in recovery myself, I called Farris Robertson and he explained their program to me. How I could become a resident of RC for about $400 a month, including meals and receive Spiritual Guidance, and group support through group studies and individual counseling with Mr. Robertson and other volunteers that came in to deliver a message of hope. If you have ever found yourself totally helpless, financially destitute and with no idea where to turn, then RC is truly a God send. Many good men and women find themselves homeless, jobless and with no place to go, through no real fault of their own. I was not drinking or using drugs, I just got myself into a hopeless situation I had gone through a double bypass in 2009 so I was already struggling financially. I did have another heart attack in 2012 while living at RC and the staff and my friends helped me tremendously after I had 4 more stints put in my heart. At RC along with the encouragement, housing and food I received I also got some assistance in renting a car so I could again get a merchandising job. As I sit here in my own apartment (self sufficient through Christ) in southeast Springfield, with a nice dependable car in the parking lot, and a great part time job with CROSSMARK merchandising, it is hard to imagine that my life has been restored, or better yet, not just restored but renewed and I live a better quality life than I have since my 30's and I owe it all to God, Recovery Chapel, Farris Robertson, Terry St. Clair and then rest of the staff and the board of directors. Philippians 4:13 paraphrased; "All things are possible through Christ who strengthens me".
