About Rational Steps
Rational Steps was located in Clearwater, Florida, which means nice hot weather! It was a detox facility and in a house rather than a clinical setting, which was cool. They had staff who were specialized in the treatment of substance abuse and drug addiction. Unfortunately, the center is now closed.
How May I Help You?
Like many rehab places, Rational Steps had cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). They had a lot of really cool services that a lot of places didn’t have too! They have things like music and art therapy, and outdoor rec activities.
Their staff also provided continuing care, which included individual counselling sessions, peer led meetings and workshops on stress management and any challenges you faced in recovery.
What’s the Price?
They had a strong belief that therapy should be available to everyone and that money shouldn’t stop someone from getting the care they need.
If you were underinsured or didn’t have insurance, they had a sliding scale for treatment price based on someone’s income. They provided as much flexibility as possible when working with individuals. You could pay out-of-pocket if you wanted to. They also accepted Medicare and Medicaid through the government. You should always call your insurance provider to see if it was covered.
Even though they’re closed, there are other centers nearby that can assist you.
Addiction Treatments
Treatments
The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.
Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.
A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.
Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Clinical Services
In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
