I was sent here from St.johnsbury Vt, hospital because I came to them suicidal. They took me even after the admin had left for the day. I was put in I believe the Tyler 2 ward. Although this particular ward had not been updated, it was still clean. The staff was exceptional. The group therapy was amazing. They always took the time to talk to everyone. We even had a music class with one of the employees that was great. It brought a lot of people out of there rooms . I was they for I believe 10 days for a mental evaluation and to keep watch because I was suicidal. They always took time to help me when I had bad days.

The Brattleboro Retreat saved my life. It is a true treasure, especially for a mental health hospital.
The bad reviews make me sad, because I think this place is misrepresented. I’ve been to bad mental health hospitals, and this is not one of them.
We got to do art, music, and have outside time.
It is such a beautiful setting right on lake with beautiful views. It was built in the 1800s as a mental health hospital, and I was told they intentionally built it at this location with all these huge windows because they know that being around nature can help heal people. It really made a difference for me being able to see the snow and nature out the window, instead of just being trapped with white walls and fluorescent lights.
The people really care. What I learned when I was there is if you’re serious and you put the work in, and you take the advice that they’re giving you, and you participate in group therapy and individual therapy, and do the work, you can get better and you can heal and you can make sure you never have to go to a mental health hospital again.
Some people would just be there and blow it off and not take it seriously and complain the whole time and not get better.
You get back what you put in, and The Brattleboro Retreat is the most beautiful and safe setting to recover and heal in.

Valley Vista in Bradford, VT is a beautiful place. I attended I'd say 8 years ago but I was not mature enough to appreciate it then. I appreciate it now. It is a clean, safe facility with helpful and kind staff. When I was there they treated dual diagnosis, which I believe is a must to truly comprehend the main cause of addiction. Vermont's beautiful scenery helps as well. I remember they had great food as well, plenty of whole foods and cakes if you like processed sweets. I believe Vermont is best for farm fresh overall.
I have since grew stronger in my faith and I give glory to God for putting me in recovery, but I admire the peer specialists and professional workers of Valley Vista. It is a great place for the underprivileged to afford. Thank you!

The staff are caring and supportive and hard working. They put in many long hours Doing a job that not many people could do. Getting clean is one of the hardest things to do and they’re there to help you every step of the way from the moment you enter the door to when you leave not only will they give you the toolsyou need to succeed, but they will also set you up so that you can continue your sobriety afterwards. Forgive the lengthy review, but even finding a fraction of what I found here at River Rock could change the trajectory of your life.
I am incredibly grateful for the team at River Rock and the novel, individualized whole human approach they take. They teach a variety of therapeutic modalities that address different aspects of a person. For instance, CBT helped me better cope with my thoughts and reduce negative thinking patterns, while DBT improved my emotional regulation, coping skills, and interpersonal relationships. IFS gave me a deeper understanding of myself, and somatic trauma therapy allowed me to address trauma stored in my body through the autonomic nervous system, helping me reprocess the emotional response tied to it.
Beyond therapy, River Rock emphasizes essential aspects of life, such as evidence-based practices to change habits and improve sleep, nutrition, exercise, adventure-based recovery, breath work, and encourages exposure to outside recovery communities. Their approach is not one-size-fits-all because everyone’s recovery is unique. What I was curious about and what worked for me might not be the same thing that will work for someone else, and the team at River Rock respects and nurtures this individuality. I couldn't have asked for a more supportive and comprehensive environment for my recovery journey.

The employees that are currently providing services to those who request it, i believe are about diligence, and take pride in assisting and helping a person find out and learn about themselves in a new way, help to set up a plan for sobriety that works for each individual's needs. Spring Lake Ranch was there for me when I did not know where to go or how to pick up my life after a bout of severe depression and weeks of ECT treatment. Its all in how you carry yourself while your their, if you need help ask for it. Ranting amd raving around the clinic being aggressive is gonna get you treated differently. Go in and be a normal decent person, be civilized for christ sakes your experience will be much more positive. In the end like you, there only doing there job. Ive been there 6 years and ive never ever had an issue everyone's very nice and makes my short time there better, always talkative and very friendly. Without them i know i wouldn't be standing on this side of the ground. Where many of my friends and family unfortunately have lost their own fights and their no longer her with us today"RIP". First of all I got to say I had a very good experience up to this point and hopefully continue a great experience with everyone here in the three months that I have been here. This team has been great and have gone way above and beyond . I also can compare from the clinic in Orlando that I was in beforehand . I agree 100 percent with the comment that the entire system sucks. It sure does but understand that there are federal guidelines they must abide by. Sometimes believe it or not when you screw up the system is not in your favor. However, thankfully I haven't screwed up. I've overcome many obstacles to work the system in my behalf. There is much help from this caring staff when you try on your part. Thank you for going way above and beyond Jen, Robin, Dr. Carteli, Erin, all the beautiful ladies at the front desk, and nurses! I go here off and on, it is a place to meet others, share a meal and join in on adventures. Adventures include group movie nights, trips to Maine, camping in Grand Isle, and various other places in Vermont. There are overnight trips and day trips, all of these events provide transportation from, and back to Westview. Evening trips deliver you to your home. Holidays are celebrated, with special meals. Nate is very easy to talk to and is very relatable. I feel at ease going to my appointments and it's very flowing at the vergennes location. Nate has helped me in so many ways and I respect and appreciate his comments and concerns. I give the Vergennes location 5 stars!!!!

I've worked professionally with Spruce Mountain Inn for several years and have visited the program on several occasions. I'm always impressed by how clean and beautiful the physical plant is, and I'm even more impressed by the clinicians and staff. I highly recommend Spruce Mountain Inn for anyone seeking residential support for young adults struggling with their mental health.

We sent our daughter to Spruce several years ago. At the time she was struggling with her mental health and we were at a loss on how to best help her through this difficult process. We had several years of ups and downs, she was not making any significant process and was struggling on a daily basis. Things started to change at Spruce. We noticed a our daughter was more engaged, more willing to talk and started to become happy again. This has been a very long process but we feel that Spruce gave us a solid foundation upon which to move forward. My daughter is currently a college senior, graduating next semester, living independently, and successful. She made life long friends at Spruce and we are very grateful for the staff and leadership.

Is a great place for people in pain an addicted to opioids they offer both methadone and Suboxone and help care for you in the best way possible.
