The Anthony House helped change my life. I am forever grateful for the safe and structured environment I found there. The managers and community were incredibly supportive and worked hard to maintain a standard of accountability that is essential in early recovery.

I have lived at Michael’s Place (part of the Anthony House) for nearly six years. I exited inpatient and toured 4 different sober houses before finally landing on the front steps of Michaels Place. Within minutes, I knew this is exactly where I needed to be. The other four houses I toured were dirty and un-inviting, slapping a huge rule book in front of me, basically expecting me to be a bad person. At Michael’s Place, there was immediate respect from the home owner; Living in these houses makes sobriety fun! Michael’s place specifically is kept extremely clean, with most guys chipping in on a daily basis to keep our environment in order. The best part is, it doesn’t even feel like a sober home at times…it’s a brotherhood. What makes these houses so great in particular are the guys who live in them. Good, honest, hard working men looking to achieve goals together. I must admit, without good guys living in these houses, you have nothing. Dan does a good job in trying to select guys for houses who will not only be a good fit, but guys who are serious about staying sober. I can confidently say that this is one of the best sober houses in the twin cities.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your journey and such an incredible milestone with us. Hearing that you’ve called Michael’s Place home for nearly six years is truly inspiring!
We know how overwhelming it can be to find the right environment after inpatient treatment. We purposefully designed our homes to feel like homes, not institutions, because we believe that respect and dignity are foundational to lasting recovery. It’s amazing to hear that you felt that difference the second you walked through our doors.
A house is just a building without the people inside it. The brotherhood, the shared commitment to cleanliness, and the daily support you all provide one another are what truly make Michael’s Place special. Dan works hard to bring in men who are serious about their recovery, but it’s guys like you who show up every day, work hard, and build that community who make it a success.
Thank you for being such an integral part of the Anthony House family and for helping us make this one of the best sober living environments in the Twin Cities.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

To provide an environment that encourages sobriety, a sober living home in Minnesota enforces strict rules. Residents must abstain from substance use, participate in support meetings and chores, abide by a set curfew, respect their housemates, and home staff, and agree to random drug tests. As long as they abide by the halfway house rules, residents are welcome to live in the home as long as they wish. Most stay at least 90 days.

Treatments

Alcoholism is a chronic, progressive condition involving the excessive and compulsive consumption of alcohol. This overconsumption leads to physical dependence and alcohol addiction. Alcohol rehab in Minnesota offers resources to help individuals recover from alcoholism and maintain a sober lifestyle. Treatment typically involves a three-step process that begins with supervised detox, followed by behavioral-based rehab, then continues with sobriety maintenance.

Drug addiction is defined as an inability to stop using drugs even though it causes negative consequences in your life. Drug rehab in Minnesota provides treatment for drug addiction in a variety of settings including inpatient treatment and outpatient treatment.

I recently completed treatment at Hazelden and was informed of this sober living home. I took a tour and was shocked to see how many cars were sitting outside and living conditions were packed. For almost a grand a month this is not affordable to anyone coming out of treatment. With all the cars and yard burned out with weeds it looked like a trailer park. After sharing this with the staff and management of Hazelden the home is no longer a referral from complaints of unprofessional management behavior. Per intake office I wasn't the first to report back to them on this house.
