I finished up the year-long DBT class with Madi and Jess as the instructors, and this program really changed my life. I know it sounds corny, but when I came in I couldn't tell you the difference between anger and disgust, but now I can clearly describe my emotions and communicate effectively with people without shutting down or shutting off. The skills I learned has helped me in my marriage, my job, and improved my relationships with others. This hidden gem of a class needs a bigger wait list, it's that good. I would encourage anyone who is struggling, with whatever it may be, to reach out to this place and get engaged in your mental health. You'll thank yourself later.

I can’t say enough good things about Nystrom & Associates and their DBT program. When I started, I was struggling with emotional regulation, relationships, and feeling overwhelmed by daily life. The structure of the DBT program, along with the support from the compassionate and knowledgeable therapists, truly changed my life. The combination of individual therapy with Madi and skills group with Madi and Jess gave me the tools I needed to navigate stress, set healthy boundaries, and manage my emotions in a more balanced way. I finally feel like I have a roadmap for how to cope in a healthier, more effective way and that’s something I hadn’t found in other therapy settings. The environment at Nystrom is welcoming and nonjudgmental. I always felt safe to be honest and to grow. If you're on the fence about starting DBT, I highly recommend it here. It's hard work, but it works and I’m so grateful I took that first step.

This place helped me save my life. The education on recovery at Pride is top-notch, the staff is informed and open, the facility is nice enough and they allow vaping now! All that aside the love and inclusiveness I felt there did more for me than anything. For the first time I didn't feel like I had to play a part to be somewhere. That feeling, that sort of love, stays with a person. After you've been accepted for who you are by others it's easier to accept it about yourself. Pride gave me the keys to unlock me.

I can't say enough good things about Transformation House. My experience here was a night and day difference from my previous treatment center. My counselor was incredible – so empathetic and understanding, which made it easier to be honest and work through things. The entire staff genuinely cares about your well-being. It's clear they're not just going through the motions. What I appreciated most was that they focused on helping me find the right path forward, even after I left. The outpatient program they connected me with was fantastic. Today, I'm proud to say I've graduated, I'm in college, I have a job, and most importantly, I have my kids back in my life. My advice to anyone going to Transformation House is to be honest with yourself and your counselor, and truly commit to the process. Stop making excuses and put in the work – they will meet you where you are and provide the support you need. I also built some strong connections with the other women there. The staff creates a supportive environment, but ultimately, your willingness to change is key. Transformation House truly changed my life, and I'm incredibly grateful for how far I've come.

Like any VA facility, this one has many concerns to resolve to provide quality care to veterans. They seem to do their best with less. Personnel and provider shortages are becoming a problem. Some appointments can take several months to be seen. Community care needs to improve in providing referrals for quality care outside the VA and not just those who are the lowest bidders. VA recently denied over $10k in payments to my dental surgeon because they couldn’t get the bill submitted within their 6 month window because the clerks had repeated bouts of COVID. I can no longer maintain continuity of care because of VAs lack of consideration. The dental provider was highly skilled and experienced. Now he refuses any further authorizations from any VA. Today’s visit went very well at the VA for a minor procedure. All staff and providers were delightfully cheerful. That is certainly an improvement. God bless!

The second best thing was going to Hazelden.It's a beginning, it's not a solution. So don't fool yourself into thinking they will solve your problems. But I can honestly promise you, if you open yourself up and surrender all of your B.S..you can and will heal.I had suffered a stroke and was in a coma for 3 days before I admitted myself. If I would have continued to drink, I would not be typing this right now. I would be dead. You don't have to suffer alone anymore, I did that for way too long.So Im telling you, love yourself for a change. Look in the mirror at yourself. Are you ok with what you see?You can and will get better if you are truly willing to. And no--you can no longer do it on your own. How many times have you already tried that? All the other ones I tried, were for profit, and it truly showed, they were more interested in moving you to a higher level of care than actually helping you. CEDAR RIDGE is an essential reason in my return to recovery. Staff; welcoming, skilled, and confident; crucially needed in spite of the COVID pandemic during my brief time there. Unfortunately afflicted with an onset of sudden mental health symptoms, unidentified at the time; they're compassion for humanitiy, spiritual development, and supportive guidance in all areas of human bankruptcy was simply, uncompromising.
