About WCAP Counseling

WCAP Counseling in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, is a certified, nonprofit agency specializing in mental health and addiction treatment services. Support is available to clients of all ages. In terms of payment, they accept Medicaid, as well as other commercial insurance providers. Self pay is also accepted, with sliding scale fees available.

Founded in 1972, they have decades of experience supporting individuals in need, prioritizing their dignity, potential, and growth in the face of hardship. All professionals who work here are licensed and experienced in a variety of therapy styles.

Once clients have reached out and had their screening and initial assessment they’ll be linked up with a few services depending on their needs. For some, this might include telehealth therapy. This is ideal for individuals unable to make regular in-person appointments and is a great way of offering more accessible care.

Otherwise, all services are provided as outpatient care. For those struggling specifically with addiction and substance use disorder (SUD), addiction counseling is provided, as well as access to additional medication and support as needed.

Clients can also receive support for other mental and emotional issues, and their treatment plan may be adjusted accordingly to account for any concurrent conditions that need to be addressed. The center also provides a 12 week anger management program. This specialized program helps clients cognitively process their anger while developing a better understanding of its root cause.

Feedback from former clients is largely positive. Many describe having a great rapport with their counselor, with some describing the services provided as professional, while also being warm and personal. Many have noted outstanding support from staff, and clients also appreciate their later appointment times that allow greater flexibility with work schedules.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Ohio may occur in individual, group, or family sessions. It involves focusing on specific thought and behavior problems. Participants learn coping techniques and are asked to practice them as homework between sessions.

The main goals of dialectical behavior therapy are to teach you how to regulate your emotions, develop positive ways to cope with stress, improve your relationships, and live in the moment. This therapy lasts about six months and involves weekly individual and group sessions.

Participants of group therapy sessions typically learn coping skills, communication techniques, and relapse prevention strategies. This unique set of skills helps you to navigate the challenges you find in the community and supports your long term sobriety.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Therapists who apply motivational interviewing in Ohio don't try to confront clients or force advice onto them. Instead, they listen and come alongside clients to help them explore why and how they might decide to make changes for themselves.

With trauma therapy, you can reclaim your life after witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event. Therapists help you process the memories, which promotes emotional healing and enables you to build resilience to navigate future challenges and triggers.

Some couples therapy in Ohio is designed as short term treatment to address a specific problem in the relationship, such as anxiety, depression, or addiction. Other couples therapy may focus on general strengthening of the relationship by improving interactions.

Family therapy offers a group time to collectively make an effort to understand and combat the issues and challenges associated with addiction. Therapists work with family members to establish healthy boundaries between each other and their loved one who is addicted, improve emotional support systems, and work together toward a sustained long term recovery.

Yes my name is Charles DeMarco. I had a telephone therapy psychiatry appointment yesterday. I've been coming to you guys now for a few years I've had a few different psychiatrist I've done everything I was supposed to do. I went just from what my last therapist told me to do is go to a lady that was able to prescribe a medication that would probably work for me. I call up yesterday she has no idea what's going on she turns her nose up at me treats me like a drug addict and I'm just telling her what the site the therapist told me and I literally am sitting here telling her that I'm suicidal and I'm going to blow my head out and she doesn't care at all She treats me like a second class citizen I've never felt so bad in my life and now I'm even worse than I've ever been and I just want help and I didn't I just was telling her exactly what my therapist that I went to last time told me to tell her and she completely ignored everything I had to say and treated me absolutely like garbage I literally am telling her and showing her like review the video I have a gun and I'm going to kill myself and like this lady is the reason why I don't know what to do I I just don't know what to do and I I'm just asking for help It took me 6 months to come back because I just these people are horrible and I got a good one the last time and now this new lady just completely blew her off and tried to go back to just like put me on just crap She didn't even know what was going on She thought my Suboxone doctor sent me there I don't know what to do but ever since I've talked to her like I am beyond suicidal. She acted like I was saying it for myself when I'm just repeating what my therapist told me and she should already have known that she shouldn't even had to ask All I've ever done is come to you guys and done everything you guys have said to do. It took me forever to get that appointment for her to just shoot down everything that me and my last therapist had put together and we were finally going in the right direction after I've taken so many stupid antidepressants when I'm not depressed at all until I talk to people like your therapist I need to speak to somebody ASAP this has to get settled I waited for 6 months to get an appointment for this lady to just tell me that this last psychiatrist that I love so much is just garbage. And she just wanted me to go to a place where I could get the correct medicine prescribed to me and she didn't even want to hear it She doesn't even know that I've spilled my heart out the two therapists so far and now it's this black lady that I've never even heard of she's like a hundred years old She thought my Suboxone doctor was the one my other therapist like help me people help me or I'm not going to be here. Please review the video call I know it's recorded please review it and see what this lady did to me.... And I want a copy of it too because I literally am not doing well now after this lady please help me please The last therapist was right on track we were both on the same page we knew exactly was needed and as soon as I told her she acted like I was coming up with this this is what I was told by the other therapist had nothing to do with me. She treated me like a loser drug addict and been clean for 3 and 1/2 years I'm doing the best I freaking can I'm literally telling her like I'm going to blow my head off She doesn't even give a damn like I need a copy of the freaking whole video like I don't know what to do I don't know whether to take it to my attorney I don't know what to do but I need to talk to somebody please

Natese has been nothing short of wonderful. I enjoy our sessions together and her resourcefulness. However the receptionist was very rude to me today. I asked to speak to a supervisor where the receptionist then laughed at me because of my request and then before transferring me stated “I’m transferring you to our director so she can relay the exact information I just gave you.” I never like to have to ask for a supervisor but Doctor K was really kind and was able to address and help me with what I was originally asking the receptionist. I called again the same day just to verify a time because I couldn’t remember what time frame I had set my appointment for. She answered the phone snd asked for my name and I gave it to her. She stated “yes I spoke to you earlier and you asked to speak to Doctor K what am I helping you with” and I politely let her know I was just calling to verify a time for my upcoming appointment. She confirmed my appointment time and was very rude about it and hung up afterwards because she was upset I was able to get an appointment with my counselor after she had told me I had to go on a waiting list. It was a very stressful and unnecessary interaction that could’ve been avoided if she had been more polite. Kindness goes a long way and this receptionist was the least to be fair.

My experience has been professional, but also warm and personal. The front desk staff alway has a smile and ask if i would like water or coffee. My therapist greets me with a smile and sends me off with one.
