About Boscobel Counseling Services

Boscobel Counseling Services offers outpatient behavioral health and counseling care at Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics in Boscobel, Wisconsin.

The program supports children, adults and older adults with therapy, medication education and aftercare planning. I like their approach, focusesed on accessible community based mental health care that meets patients where they are.

Keep in mind that addiction isn’t a core specialty here. They can help you work through addiction related issues in low intensity therapy, but if you need a more advanced addiction treatment program, they can offer referrals.

CBT in Rural Wisconsin

Boscobel Counseling Services provides outpatient counseling for children and adults as part of Gundersen Boscobel’s integrated behavioral health offerings.

Care is delivered within a hospital and clinic campus, allowing patients to access counseling with broader medical services.

Sessions may incorporate evidence based approaches such as CBT, mindfulness and relaxation techniques.

Expanded appointment access, including same or next day availability and online scheduling, helps reduce barriers to care.

Senior Life Solutions for Older Adults

The Boscobel campus is home to Senior Life Solutions, a hospital based outpatient mental health program for seniors.

Participants engage in group therapy up to three times weekly, with medication management and aftercare planning.

Eligible participants may attend some sessions virtually via computer, tablet or smartphone.

Access and Getting Started

Boscobel Counseling Services is located at Parker Street, serving the Boscobel, Fennimore and Muscoda areas with virtual options.

The program is part of Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics, with telepsychiatry integration.

Billing and insurance support is available through the Boscobel business office and a financial assistance policy is offered.

A wonderful experience for my brother and our family during his stay at the hospital. The whole staff was accommodating, caring, and respectful. This includes registration, housekeepers, nurses, CNAs, NP’s and doctors. Despite a couple of inappropriate political comments, I’m still giving the hospital a 5 star rating. Kindness goes a long way! Keep up the great job.

The RN, Belinda, is incredibly rude and arrogant. Definitely one of those nurses that ONLY has their job because of short staff. I couldn't believe the way she would respond to me on my first time ever being here, she acted like I'd been there bothering her for weeks when this was the first time I'd been there to see my mother. This is her job, she signed up for it, there is no reason for the attitude or excuses. Don't like it, find a different job, that is not how nurses act. My mother who was suffering brain trauma was bring more professional and respectful than Belinda was. Explains being the lowest rated hospital around.👎 I dont want a stupid AI response, just do better, Belinda can take accountability or find a new job, clearly she cant handle this one. Thank God we're already having my mom transfered out of here tomorrow.

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

The goal of drug rehab in Wisconsin is to address drug addiction as a complex issue that involves physical, mental, and relational aspects. During rehab, treatment focuses on each of these areas and gives you the tools you need to achieve and maintain sobriety.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

My wife broke her hip. After surgery, needed a facility to provide therapy before we could go home to heal. "Little Boscobel" hospital assembled very best of the best (sorry Mayo Clinic, you missed the best of class...) Rooms immaculately clean every day, food is high quality, social workers who truly care about your progress, medical staff that somehow is always brightly positive and highly attentive to your comfort, safety, and anticipating your every need... 24x7 !! Therapy complement this 5-star team. Gentle hands guiding your strong recovery to not just get you home, but to ensure your continued progression to being better than before you had your event. You would be deeply wise, and fortunate, to seek out this comprehensive A-Team.
