Let’s start with Melissa W. Melissa. W is the best. She’s kind and has a lot of patience and works very hard. Anytime someone needed to speak with her she opened her door right up. She does kind things for people and goes out of her way to make sure a client is comfortable. She always smelled like a breath of fresh air. So that’s why I’m shocked to see a review from Bri Marie below that states she was the total opposite. I want people to know what Bri stated isn’t true at all. In fact Bri should know that making false complaints to a state agency about someone or a facility is illegal. Bri you have one person to back you up but Melissa has a whole army to back her up. We know what the real truth is. Second, Therapist Tammy.K be aware of her. She’s bad news, and it’s sad I didn’t come to my senses about her true character sooner. She victim shamed me in our last session. I was talking about the trouble teen industry and read her my narrative from my journal and she victim shamed multiple times she told me I’m the reason why I arrived there, I’m the reason they drugged me up on medication and even justified them putting me in seclusion for a week. Then she will turn around and say you don’t take responsibility for your feelings or behaviors. She’s a sick woman. Please be careful if you have her as a therapist. Third, My discharge didn’t go as planned and it was a little odd and made zero sense at all. It’s a little fishy because I don’t know who’s telling the truth behind the reasoning of my discharge and who’s not. But I will never forget this place. Made new friends and learned a few things and majority of the staff were very kind. Fourth, The nurses section omg some nurses are great but I’m not a fan of them filling meds behind my back, then putting my pills in another persons bag. The nurses station has a lot of work to do.

What an awesome experience! The uncertainty I felt walking through those doors the first time quickly evaporated. My counselor was great, patient, open, understanding, honest, were a few things about her that made my experience fruitful. The knowledge I obtained was/ is invaluable. Here veterans gather from country and town, some walking in steady, some nearly worn down. From old wars to new scars, from body to brain, each carries a story through memory and pain. The uniform’s folded, the boots put away, but service still echoes through each passing day. The mission has shifted, the cadence has changed, yet healing takes courage when life feels rearranged. Inside these long hallways, the next watch begins, with nurses and doctors and warm, patient grins. They listen, they measure, they mend what they can, then help an old soldier stand steady again. There are scans for the body and words for the mind, new roads toward relief when the old roads unwind. From medicine, movement, and mental-health care, the load becomes lighter when someone is there. The forms can be many, the hallways can wind, and waiting can wear on an already tired mind. But beyond all the numbers, appointments, and charts, are people still serving with capable hearts. William Middleton served both the soldier and science, with duty through war and a healer’s reliance. A doctor, a colonel, a teacher of care, his name still stands watch over veterans there. Since nineteen fifty-one, through each season and year, these doors have stood open for those who served here. Not promising miracles, not erasing the past, but helping us carry, recover, and last. So here’s to the workers who answer the call, from clinics and kitchens to each hospital hall. To the hands that bring comfort, the ears that still hear, and the veterans who enter despite doubt and fear. For asking for help is not waving defeat, it is one more hard mission on battle-worn feet. A brave forward movement, a difficult start, requiring the strength of a soldier’s own heart. At Middleton Memorial, the colors still fly, for those who came home but still wonder sometimes why. The war may be distant, yet service stays true, and the watch now belongs to the healers and you. I was just discharged from there today. I came into the ER, was admitted, and then had my gallbladder removed. From the moment I arrived there, it felt like most hospitals used to feel. It felt like a place where they would do everything they could to get you feeling better. These types of hospitals seem to be getting harder to find. There were so many excellent doctors, nurses, and staff that I interacted with over the 4 days I was there. Especially nurses Gwen Kay, Rose Whitehead, and the doctors in my surgical team. Everyone was great, but I'm terrible with remembering names so please forgive me. Anyway, please keep doing what you're doing. It was about as great of an experience as one could have while still walking away missing an organ. Thank you for everything!

As far as psych unuts go, this one is *TOP* of my list!! The food is AMAZING, the people are WONDERFUL, the programs they do and the support they provide are absolutely the best I've had (and, I'm not ashamed to say I've been to *many* different inpatient units over my lifetime. 😅 Being able to go in when you realize you're out of sorts or not feeling safe is VERY important!! We don't talk enough about mental health in the world, and it's just as important as physical care!) Anyway.... 10/10... HIGHLY recommend! (And no, I'm not getting paid yo say this! 🤣)

Although I have nothing to compare this program to, I found my care to be top notch. Okay, the beds are a bit hard but the doctors, social workers and the nurses (almost forgot to mention the OT folks) were incredibly kind and effective. In my opinion, the inpatient program is as successful as the work you put into it. There is no magic cure; just need to pull yourself up by the britches and dive in. Oh- the food is quite good as well! I would highly recommend this inpatient psychiatric programming!

Connections Counseling is by far the best place I have ever been to for therapy and treatment. My therapist is insightful, inspiring, relatable and very knowledgeable. She encourages me to look within myself for strength and wisdom while she is there to help me. I now have 1.5 years of sobriety under my belt and have confidence in the future The groups are a place of safety and comfort. The staff aswell as the peers are relatable, inspiring and encouraging. Kim is the most uplifting person you will ever come across in recovery. Smart move to have her be the first person you deal with at Connections. My life will never be the same (thank goodness) since I have come to Connections I will continue on my road to recovery with the support of Connections for as long as they will have me.

Asap is such an awesome clinic. The best one I've been to, tbh. I don't go to this Madison one specifically, I go to the one in Milwaukee co/West Allis. But I wanted to review Madison because I know that is where Dr. Harkin usually practiced, and he'd be in Milwaukee once a week, a while ago. He is/was one of the best doctors ever. I miss him dearly. A couple years ago during an appointment with him, he wrote me a note to place somewhere I could see it often that says; "I am valuable", and I put it in my lock box for my take homes, and it's been there ever since. I see it everyday. It is the little things in life. Definitely bummed he retired, hope he is doing well. And Asap clinic is most definitely the one to go to, if you are looking for a clinic. They actually care and don't make you feel like just another number in their system.

They were very willing to help us and even assisted us with the process of applying for insurance for the expectant mother. The entire team was professional, kind, and compassionate. The hospital was extremely clean, like a large hotel. When we first arrived, we felt very nervous because of the language barrier, but they kindly provided interpretation services online for us. Within just a few hours, they completed all the tests, including blood work, urine tests, and ultrasound. We are very grateful and will always remember this experience. America is truly compassionate—especially here in Dubuque, Iowa, where the doctors and medical staff are not only skilled but also ethical and kind-hearted. We also noticed Christian statues and images in the hospital, which made us feel even more comforted and trusting. We sincerely hope they will continue to support us in obtaining insurance so that she can receive proper prenatal care and give birth safely in the future. During my very short time with them(relocated states) I have had nothing but the best people and care, especially my girl Trish(hopefully I spelled your name right.) I am Mexican American and I didn't have not one issue regarding race issues as they are a little diverse in their staffing as well. My only complaint during the short time was, no one tried to help me with housing... One of the main reasons I had to leave. Other than that 5/5 from food pantry, pharmacy, all great! Kevin is a pretty good one as well. Really they all are in the Madison location. Highly recommend!!

Jackie the PT is the best! I recently had a knee replacement and under her tutelage I have advanced and improved my flexion and extension. I mention this because ten years ago I had my other knee done and did not receive adequate PT. Jackie has me doing things I never learned previously. Besides the therapy she is a really upbeat person that is able to connect with people. As I noted in a previous review, everyone at the VA in Dubuque are really exemplary and helpful. I have used three VA centers over a forty year period and this is the best service I ever received. My primary care provider Lana a PA and her nurse Deb are the very best! All the other people I have had contact including Rachel the pharmacist and all the front desk people are really great. They return calls and are always polite and efficient. The lady who takes blood work--a combat vet herself--always goes above and beyond. Sorry I forgot her name but no less a critical member of a highly efficient team. Give all my highest recommendation.
