I was just discharged from there today. I came into the ER, was admitted, and then had my gallbladder removed. From the moment I arrived there, it felt like most hospitals used to feel. It felt like a place where they would do everything they could to get you feeling better. These types of hospitals seem to be getting harder to find. There were so many excellent doctors, nurses, and staff that I interacted with over the 4 days I was there. Especially nurses Gwen Kay, Rose Whitehead, and the doctors in my surgical team. Everyone was great, but I'm terrible with remembering names so please forgive me. Anyway, please keep doing what you're doing. It was about as great of an experience as one could have while still walking away missing an organ. Thank you for everything!

I entered the VA system fairly late in life (75) after receiving care through a broad range of health care systems over the course of my life. The Madison VA system is, barr none, the best healthcare I have ever received in terms of both quality and comprehensiveness. This is the best 'thank you' for my service that I could receive.

As a patient since 2018 who has successfully reached Phase 6, I want to share how much this clinic has improved, largely thanks to dedicated staff. My life is completely turned around—I have repaired my family relationships and rebuilt my credit. My counselor, Cheryl, is absolutely amazing. She is compassionate, hardworking, and deserves 5 stars. Jerry is also an exceptional nurse who always brightens my day. I also want to thank the long-term staff and the wonderful new nurses. However, high staff turnover and redundant paperwork are severe detriments to patient well-being. It is incredibly hard for patients in recovery to constantly restart with new counselors and clearly they've had this problem since before 2018- 26 counselors in 4 or 5 years is unacceptable and probably why A lot of patients failed and stopped going to the clinic. Cheryl is frequently doing multiple jobs due to understaffing. Management needs to streamline all the paperwork that has to be repeated every 3 months... for stable patients that should be done every 6 months then I could spend more time talking to my counsler instead of working on my treatment plan, which is exactly the same as it was three months Because I'm stable and nothing's changed, hire more support, and give these crucial workers the raises and pay they deserve so we don't keep losing them. -Thank you to the dedicated team at Madison West for changing my life-
