Communicare has several facilities throughout the state. At this location, they offer adult behavioral health services to give you a place to speak confidentially to licensed and caring therapy staff.

Your personalized treatment program can include individual, group or family sessions to treat alcohol and drug abuse and provide psychiatric medication management or preventive services for yourself or your family. They’re a community resource that promotes sustainable abstinence and recovery from alcohol or other drugs that have affected your relationships or your physical health.

They offer a variety of programs that focus on transitioning you back to everyday life. If you’ve a chronic mental illness, you can enroll in their residential placements to learn independent skills in a supported environment.

You also have access to targeted case management that supports your sustainable recovery by identifying and connecting you with community resources. This offers a tangible way of empowering your everyday living.

Women’s Transitional Housing

Crisis stabilization treatment is available as a 24-hour alternative to inpatient treatment or hospitalization. They focus on stabilizing the crisis and helping you return to a normal routine. The therapists recognize that medication-assisted treatment may help you achieve long-term recovery when it is provided short-term, over 18 to 24 months, for opioid or heroin addiction.

Outpatient services can include chemical dependency assessments, gender specific care for women, aftercare services, education and a specialized 12-step program if you experience a mental illness. The program’s transitional housing option for women includes a subsidized housing facility with 11 units for women over the age of 18 with a limited annual income and who have received chemical dependency treatment in the past 6 months.

They work closely with Medicaid, Medicare, military insurance, federal or government funding and private insurance policies. They also offer cash or self-payment with financial assistance based on your income.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Inpatient

Inpatient rehab is designed primarily for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those in crisis situations that may increase their risk of relapse. Clients reside at the inpatient treatment center for the length of the program, which may range from two weeks to more than 18 months, depending on the program design. Inpatient treatment typically includes 24-hour clinical care and extensive addiction counseling and recovery education using CBT, DBT, RBT, motivational interviewing or other psychotherapeutic approaches.

Intensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Kentucky often starts with detox, then includes inpatient or outpatient treatment, and continues with aftercare support. Specific methods used during each of these phases varies, but often include individual and group counseling, medication, and recreational therapies.

Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one).
