I was able to check myself in using the VA app. I like that very much...no standing in line. My nurse was on-time, professional and relayed my concerns appropriately. Dr. Phelps is my doctor. I appreciate his simple explanations. He's stuck around long enough for me to feel like he is familiar with my history... that's pretty cool! And...not common, in my experience. The staff, especially the PESs and facilitators, were excellent and always helped when I needed support. The food was good, with enough for everyone and seconds available upon request. My needs were met, and I would recommend this facility to anyone seeking serious recovery. My therapist was also very helpful, and I truly appreciate everything that was done for me. I have been treated by great caring Doctors and Nurses. I have also had community services to get treatment faster then VA could provide,they sent me to a Saint surgeon known as Dr Yakkanti U OF L. The pharmacy has been most helpful. Community Services has been very responsive. When you walk down the hallway at Rex VA. Your brothers and sisters always are kind. I can promise you with every inch of my heart that this place is by far, number one. You not only receive the education but also a sense of being human. The techs are not just techs, they themselves are someone you can talk to, cry to, vent to and they will not forget about you. I’ve been to many places where you are treated like an insurance figure but definitely not here. These people take it beyond the limits of care. My fourth time into a rehab, I said “take me to Wooded Glen”. You come in broken and feeling alone and leave with a family. I would recommend this place to anyone battling addiction of any kind. The staff are beyond excellent and they follow up with you and help you after you leave. They do actually care what your going through and are there if you need them. Very clean place that has cozy rooms. There classs are very informative and helpful, with great staff that actually want to teach you about recovery and who you can go to with any problem. I had the absolute best time there and was able to excersize between classes. Honostly I've been to multiple 'rehabs' in Indiana and this is hands down the best there is. I'm so grateful i went. I didn’t want to be at rehab, but I just took it day by day. The staff is incredibly welcoming & loving and that makes all the difference when trying to get clean. After a few days of detoxing I got Medication-assisted treatment, and started feeling better each day. This is a small rehab so you really get to know the other clients and leave with long term friends and get to know the staff as well - like your therapist for example, so you actually feel comfortable opening up and not just sharing because you have to. I also loved the AA/Na speakers they have come in - I was really able to connect with each speakers stories and they give you hope that if they can stay clean for that long through everything so can we! I also loved the fact they took us to outside AA meetings everyday so we get a chance to just get out and interact with new people.
