I want people to understand something important about the program. When you complete it and leave, the medications they use as “crutches” (like SSRIs) are not designed to be permanent solutions — but they don’t really prepare you for what happens when you try to come off them.
In my case, when I finished the program, I was left with nothing but “good luck.” No tapering support, no real plan, no follow-up guidance. The withdrawal from SSRI medication was a horrific experience, and I had to seek out a separate doctor on my own afterward just to cope.
People should know going in: the program does provide structure and tools while you’re there, but the aftercare is lacking, especially around medication dependence. Be ready to advocate for yourself and find outside medical support when you leave.

This place literally saved my life, my career, and my family. I was “functioning” in my opinion, but I was really blind to what was happening around me.
My marriage was falling apart, my career was spiraling slowly downwards, my kids had a parent who was always drinking at home, and who might show up to a soccer game or a cheerleading contest drunk and loud and embarrassing.
The truth was that I was dying in front of my kids and my spouse, my job was dying, but I thought I was living.
I too came here under the “6 to 8 week” suggestion, but I knew how it goes. Admissions will usually tell someone that just to get them in. I was not naive in that fashion.
Yes, some reviews say “bait and switch” or “I was told this at the beginning”, but what they are not telling you is that everyone gets evaluated when they first get here, and based on cognitive tests, and how messed up you and your life are, patients either leave a little earlier, right on time, or they need a little more time (like me).
I figured that I drank and used drugs for years, and that it would take more than under two months for me to even begin to get better.
I learned new skills, got great therapy and education and care from the staff, and after 3 1/2 months I came back home. I work in television production, and my co-workers and bosses were so supportive and understanding. My family…took a little while before the trust and love came back, but it did eventually, and it feels good because I put in a lot of hard work.
Listen, I know a lot of people come to treatment for the “band aid” to fix whatever problem is slapping them in the face. But if you really, truly want to get well, get sober, and get the kind of help you need, there is no better place than Talbott. You might have to stay a little longer than those other “spin-dry” types of rehabs that just keep recycling patients who keep relapsing, but I swear this place works miracles. I am living proof.

My time at MARR has fundamentally changed my life. I have a strong foundation in sobriety, many coping tools in my toolbox and a large network of sober men and women who I will forever call friends. I especially love the Professionals Program (ARP) where I participated in Mirror Image classes, working with peers who had overcome their addiction and achieved the life I wanted to be living. | Hope Harbor Wellness is a drug treatment facility in Hiram, Georgia which is just 30 miles west of Atlanta. The organization was started in 2020 by a woman who successfully recovered from drug addiction. With statistics showing an increase in drug overdoses in Georgia in recent years, Hope Harbor Wellness recognized a need to help address these hea | Programs Payment Options | The journey of my recovery has definitely been a rollercoaster. I had to be court ordered to a program for a year. With devastation, I packed my bags and entered Hope Harbor hopeless and full of resentments for myself and the ones around me. To my surprise, this year has been the biggest blessing I could have received. The staff at Hope Harbor care about their clients and helped me cope immensely with my situation. As funny as it may seem, the clients and staff became like a second family to me. The groups are set to help those dealing with mental health and substance abuse issues, and it did just that. I’ve not only seen my life change before my eyes, but I’ve seen other clients excel and become an even more beautiful version of themselves. Self love is something many battle with daily, but the staff encourage and show clients different ways to show love for themselves and others. I have been inspired and filled with honor to witness the change in others and myself. Thank you for everything Hope Harbor. I would recommend this place above all others.

Hope Harbor Wellness Gave Me My Life Back
Walking into Hope Harbor Wellness after completing detox from fentanyl, I was overwhelmed, unsure, and full of fear. I didn’t know what to expect — and like many in early recovery, I was skeptical. But from the very beginning, something felt different here. I was immediately welcomed with warmth, compassion, and a sense of safety that I hadn’t felt in years.
The staff at Hope Harbor are truly one-of-a-kind. They are not just professionals — they are people who genuinely care, deeply and selflessly. They don’t clock out when the day ends. There is support here 24 hours a day. Whether you need someone to talk to, cry with, vent to, or just sit quietly beside so you don’t feel alone, there is always someone there. That kind of constant, unconditional presence made all the difference for me. I never felt judged — only seen, heard, and understood.
One of the most powerful things about Hope Harbor Wellness is that many of the staff are in recovery themselves. They’re not just here for a paycheck — they’re here because they get it. They’ve walked the same path and know firsthand how hard it can be, which makes their support feel that much more genuine. They are living proof that recovery is possible, that you can overcome addiction, and go on to live a happy, sober, and fulfilling life. Having them by your side — people who truly understand — makes all the difference.
Going through PHP and IOP at Hope Harbor was the best decision I could’ve made for my recovery. This isn’t just a program — it’s a lifeline. They teach you how to live again, how to build real coping skills, and how to navigate the real world without falling back into addiction. They meet you where you are, walk beside you through the process, and help you build a foundation for a better future.
I’m beyond grateful — more than words can really say. Hope Harbor didn’t just help me stay clean. They helped me heal. They helped me believe in myself again. They helped me realize that I’m not alone, and that recovery is possible — one day at a time.
If you’re struggling and don’t know where to turn, this is the place. Hope Harbor Wellness truly saves lives — and they saved mine.

This place was more comfortable to me than home when I had issues with alcohol intake, the staffs are more than welcoming, their ways of addressing your issues are just topnotch. I really can’t refer to a particular staff cos they’re all the same, one common interest, to give help to those that need it.
Group meetings were just amazing, I found out I started being bold because of them, today am a completely different person from who I used to be, thanks to this place.
I strongly recommend this place anyone who truly seek any kind of mental health treatment.
I have them on my mind always.
Thanks once again for transforming my life from bad to good.
Kudos to that decent team!!

It was a safe place during my most suicidal years. I really appreciated the ability to isolate in my room, unlike other facilities that lock the rooms during the day. Currently changing my life for the better. I am 130 days sober. I extended my stay after checking myself in to Purple (my second rehab). I recently completed the 39 days at Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center and left with lasting tools to manage both my addiction, anxiety and depression. The grounds were absolutely beautiful, with sunny common areas for group therapy and a pond for quiet reflection. From day one, Brittney, one of my favorite nurses, monitored my detox symptoms with compassion making the medical side of recovery feel safe and supported.
But the heart of my transformation came from Dustin, my individual and small group counselor. Dustin didn’t just guide me—he saved my life. His presence, patience, empathy, authenticity and insight helped me find my voice after years of silence. In our sessions, I learned how to speak up for myself, name my pain, and begin to heal. I’ll never forget the breakthrough moments I had in his sessions. I could go on and on. Immense gratitude that he entered my life when he did.
The peer counselors were equally impactful; Cam was such an empathetic, kind, compassionate, genuine, positive soul. She still checks on me to this day. Forever Grateful to her. From Beth, Bill, Zac, Conrad, and a few more—I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your kindness and realness. Thank you.
By the end of the program, I noticed a dramatic shift in my ability to regulate anxiety without using substances. My relationships have healed, and I’ve maintained sobriety for almost 6 months so far. I wholeheartedly recommend BRMRC to anyone seeking recovery—especially if you’re ready to find your voice and save your life. It saved mine.
