I spent 3 months at Talbott in-patient beginning in October 2020, and then an additional 3 months in their sober living program (which has since been discontinued). Before I came to Talbott, I was broken, unable to function or live any kind of life period. I couldn’t see any other way until I found Talbott.
The most important thing I found at Talbott was a community of individuals who were struggling with the same things I was – my time at Talbott showed me the importance of community and connection. This connection and sense of community was fostered by people like my counselors Allie and Sam, and more so by our community coordinators Ben and Christian.
Ben especially left an indelible mark on my life and my perspective on addiction and finding recovery. His ability to connect with patients and former patients is remarkable and too seldom found in the treatment world. I will never forget the first time I heard Ben speak – he has a wholly unique ability to give people hope, especially when they are at their lowest.
I have carried the lessons Ben and everyone at Talbott taught me since then, and I now have over 4 1/2 years clean and sober. Talbott changed my life and for that I will be forever grateful.

Summit Wellness Group saved me at a time when I needed mental health care the most. All of the therapists were so wonderful and attentive. Even though it was a group setting, I felt seen and heard as an individual. My individual therapist, Ashley, carefully created an individualized treatment plan that was followed weekly. I noticed improvement in my mood and energy levels after about 2 weeks of the program, and continued to see improvement up until my graduation date. I am so grateful for Summit, and I highly recommend this facility and staff for those looking to improve their mental health or receive help with their recovery from substance abuse.

I stayed at Hope Harbor in 2023 for about 3 months. While it can be a very uncomfortable, exhausting, and dramatic experience living in a group environment with other recovering addicts, alcoholics, and mentally ill persons, I believe that it genuinely did change my life for the better. The staff was going through some changes at that time and did their best to be kind and understanding to me; and once the staff members that caused problems were gone, everything went a lot smoother. The only issue I really had outside of interpersonal issues with other clients was my psych meds being messed with on a biweekly basis, causing weight gain. I really appreciated Dwight reaching out to me today to extend the invitation to alumni meetings as well, even if I may live farther off than most. Was incredible to be thought of, even two years on.

It was a safe place during my most suicidal years. I really appreciated the ability to isolate in my room, unlike other facilities that lock the rooms during the day. I have been through a couple of rehabs, both were great experiences in their own way, but I greatly appreciated the staff here, from techs to nurses to counselors. Many have been through recovery themselves, and the level of care and empathy was apparent from day 1. They handled my detox well… I still had symptoms, which is expected, but they made me as comfortable as possible. If you are looking for a place that feels like home (only probably more stable), this is the place for you. They always make sure you have transportation available, which is great for people who don’t have cars. They let you work and build community and they don’t give up on people easily. Twin Lakes started the beginning process of my healing journey and bringing new life within my existence. I came in broken and lost but the staff and people there helped me a lot. I learned a lot of tools to carry with me once I left and I continue to use throughout my recovery. So grateful for this facility and the people who helped me along the way.

Good place to go if you are on drugs. But stay longer than a week. My grandkids should have stayed longer.

6/8/10 I walked into St Illa. Broken, afraid, and ashamed. I know I wasn’t the easiest person to deal with, but the staff treated me with respect. I completed detox and set about putting the pieces of my life back together. It has been a long and winding road, but I started college at age 50 and have been working in the field of addiction treatment for 6 years.
Yesterday marked 13 years drug free and the memory of the moment I walked through those doors remains fresh in my mind.
If you’re reading this with the thought of seeking treatment, do it. Do it now. You can be free. You are worth it. This place literally saved my life.
To the staff- I did not understand at the time everything you said and did, or why. But I do now. I’m sure none of the same people are there, but I will forever be grateful ♥️

Inpatient addiction treatment provides Peach State residents with recovery services to overcome alcohol and drug addiction. These residential programs offer immersive experiences and around-the-clock care in a supportive, distraction-free environment.
Treatment generally commences with detox, a medically-supervised process to safely stop substance consumption while preventing withdrawal symptoms and cravings with FDA-approved medications. From here, a carefully personalized plan will address all the underlying reasons that may be driving addiction, such as trauma, depression, anxiety, work problems or relationship issues.
Living in a facility purposely designed for healing can be transformational. Centers nestled in the North Georgia mountains or other peaceful and discreet locations create much-needed distance from negative influences, triggers and old routines. Here, you will focus on starting fresh. Therapy, wellness practices, and social support will be your daily companions on a self-discovery journey. Chef-made food, relaxation activities, and friendly staff will make your experience comfortable and memorable. When treatment ends, you will have a clear road map of what to do next to continue your self-development, with access to support groups, wellness plans and aftercare interventions.
We invite you to take the first bold step toward a new beginning. Explore accredited inpatient programs in Georgia and invest in a future built on hope, stability, and renewed purpose.
